• Tell Tyson: Workers deserve paid sick leave now!
My name is Magaly Licolli, and I am a grassroots organizer with Venceremos, an organization dedicated to protecting poultry workers against the injustices of companies like Tyson. Every day I speak to poultry workers who are terrified for their lives and the safety of their communities. They need your help now more than ever. In Arkansas alone, where Tyson is headquartered, there are over 30,000 workers producing the chicken that ends up on plates all across the country. These workers are immigrants, refugees, minoritized communities that are not afforded the opportunity to speak out against this injustice. We demand that Tyson give paid sick leave to employees in addition to providing safer, cleaner working conditions. Poultry workers must also be compensated for being quarantined to prevent further spread of the virus that can potentially harm more workers. Finally, they must receive generous hazard pay for risking their lives as COVID-19 rapidly spreads in our communities. Worker health is public health! Please sign and share this petition.

  • Visalia Gym’s Open Up!
Gyms across our state provide an essential service in the health and well being of their members and community. Many "essential" workers (police officers, labor workers, corrections, nursing and medical staff etc) are missing out on their place of respite and recovery from the stressors of life in this time. People utilize gyms in order to stay healthy both mentally and physically and are in need of some semblance of normalcy. One of the current main mortality drivers of Covid19 has shown to be obesity and we are literally unable to use one of the greatest drivers and motivators against it. Our current administration in Washington, placed Gyms in PHASE 1 of the essential businesses to open to kickstart our economy. Allow us to do so!

  • HEALTH CARE AUTHORITY, ALLOW INTERPRETERS TO WORK IN PERSON!
By the HCA taking immediate corrective action, and overturning this recent decision, interpreters would have access to more jobs instead of relying only on over the phone (OPI). • Sen. Gardner, Support The CORE Act!
April 30th marks 6 MONTHS since the Colorado Outdoor Recreation and Economy (CORE) Act passed in the U.S. House of Representatives. The CORE Act is the most significant and broadly-supported effort to protect Colorado’s cherished lands, waters, and forests in a generation. This crucial legislation, sponsored by Senator Michael Bennet and Congressman Joe Neguse, would protect wilderness areas, clean water supplies, and wildlife migration corridors and habitat, while also creating sustainable recreation opportunities. Despite all the good it would do for Colorado, Senator Cory Gardner has yet to express his support for this crucial legislation. For decades, local communities have been supporting pieces of legislation and calling for protection of historic sites, recreation areas, unspoiled wilderness lands, and waterways and wildlife habitats through individual pieces of legislation. Senator Bennet and Congressman Neguse's work on this legislation recognizes the growing support for a comprehensive effort to permanently protect these places for future generations. The CORE Act would provide important protections for key watersheds, helping to safeguard pristine drinking water supplies for local communities, from the western slope to the front range. It would also safeguard headwaters, local streams, and gold medal trout fisheries like Blue River, Gore Creek, and the Animas River, which are enjoyed by anglers near and far. Further, the bill would preserve healthy wildlife habitat by protecting key areas from road building, new mines and oil and gas drilling, and other activities that would degrade wildlife habitat and watershed values. It would continue to safeguard backcountry hunting opportunities and important big game habitat on our public lands across the state, in addition to protecting habitat for black bear, bighorn sheep, mountain goat, sage grouse, moose, lynx, wild turkey, and the rare wolverine. We should all get behind these goals. Millions of people visit Colorado’s iconic public lands and landmarks each year to recreate and this bill would preserve access to those places for future generations to enjoy. Now is the time for all of Colorado’s elected officials to join veterans, sportsmen, community leaders, conservationists, business owners, county officials, and voters from across the state, in protecting public lands for the future. Sign this petition and demand that Senator Gardner defends our economy, our quality of life, and our health by supporting the CORE Act.

  • Maine Youth Vision for the Maine Climate Council Working Groups
We, the youth of Maine, recognize that addressing the climate crisis in a way that will ensure a just and livable future for all will require addressing the root causes of the crisis, and making bold changes. Addressing climate change will require a new economy, a new energy system, a new democracy, and a new relationship to the planet and each other. It will also require rights to food sovereignty, expansion of human rights and rights of indigenous peoples, and solutions for the dignity of all people. Based on the science we learn in school, we know that we must achieve zero emissions by 2030 in order to ensure this future.

  • ReOpen Alling Memorial Golf Course
it is important to the community to be able to exercise and spend some time out of the house. It is also important to support the town of New Haven with all of the profits that the golf course will provide. It is also providing landscaping crews there much-needed jobs along with the stuff that runs the course. There’s no reason that this beautiful course is not open and abiding by the current laws to allow its local taxpayers to enjoy this magnificent course.

  • Thank You, Governor Bullock
In view of recent protests, including at our Capitol, we the undersigned hereby support our Governor, Steve Bullock, in his courageous stand to uphold Shelter In Place. The economy will recover, but lives lost are gone forever. Protecting our families is of utmost importance. Meanwhile, please continue to seek out ways to help those hit the hardest financially. Please do not consider relaxing environmental protections. Without clean air, water and land, life will be considerably worse for Montanans who depend upon tourism, Montana's best resource.

  • Tell the FDA and State Leaders: Lift abortion restrictions!
More and more healthcare providers are turning to telemedicine to ensure continued access to health care for patients while reducing the need for patients to travel to receive medical care, risking exposure to coronavirus. Both patients and doctors win in this scenario. Medication abortion, when a pregnant person takes two types of pills that induce an abortion before 10-12 weeks, can also be conducted under the supervision of a physician via telemedicine. It is a safe and effective way to broaden access to abortion care for pregnant people. And yet, 18 states force patients to travel to a clinician's office for medication abortion, and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), despite the recommendations of medical experts including the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, refuses to lift restrictions on mifepristone, one of the medications needed for medication abortion, that would enable providers to mail it to patients or prescribe it for pickup at a pharmacy. These restrictions are nothing more than ideological, anti-woman excuses to restrict access to abortion. The impact of these restrictions fall disproportionately on women of color, indigenous people, disabled people, and low-income folks. But if enough of us raise our voices and demand the FDA lift restrictions on mifepristone and that state lawmakers expand access to telemedicine for abortion, we can raise enough pressure to force the FDA and state lawmakers to expand access to abortion care and allow telemedicine!
