The Philadelphia School district wants to eliminate the Instrumental Music program. This would affect over 100,000 students in our school system. Philadelphia Schools have had a long standing tradition of excellence in music programs at the elementary, junior high and high school level. These programs have included the nationally known All-Philadelphia performance ensembles including a High School Choir, Jazz Band, Symphonic Wind Ensemble and Orchestra. In addition many of our students go on to major in music. Many of our former students are musicians in major orchestras (Philadelphia, Toronto, Cinncinatti, ) and college professors of music. Taking away these programs for our children is unfair and denies them the same opportunities that wealthier school districts can afford. Please restore the Instrumental Music Program in the School District of Philadelphia.

Big banks keep aggressively foreclosing homes mostly from middle class hard working people. Some of these banks (notoriously HSBC Bank USA) have been found engaged in forging signatures and illegal processing of mortgages documents, the so called "ROBOSIGNING". HSBC was even found involved in money laundering in the amount of billions of dollars and precisely doing so on drug dealers' money. Where is the Dpt. of Justice and its agents here in Florida when it is the time to enforce laws?. Or... it is that this big banks are "too big to obey laws", as they have been considered "too big to fail??". I ask for an investigation on these corporations and on the Florida Attorney General who fired two of her assistants because they were doing their job on these issues.

Make congress work 5 days a week, and work 52 weeks a year like any other business.

It seems that nearly everyone I talk to has a gripe these days whether about government, health care, religion or social issues. I feel like it is time to take our POWER back! This life we have WAY too often given our power away to another entity or organization and by so doing left ourselves in a place where we feel disempowered. In this disempowered state all we can do is complain about what others are doing. But what are WE doing INSIDE and in our words to re-empower ourselves? Let's start today to change all that!

Citizens just shake their heads over the lack of legislative outcomes in Washington . EVERYONE wants better results. One of the major barriers is the Filiibuster rule which abandons the "majority rules" concept present in every democratic institution. This rule must be modified to once again restore citizens trust and confidence in it's government.

A 17 year old boy Kendrick Lamar Johnson has been killed . He was found in his high school ( Lowdes High School) GA. with a beaten face and body rolled up in a matt placed in the gym. Throughout the school day no one noticed Johnson missing until his father noticed him never returning from school. It was said that the county's sheriff department, led by Chris Pine, did not notify the countys coroner Bill Watson ,about Johnson's death on January 11.

My family and I were involved in an auto accident on 6/1/08 and are still dealing with the ramifications of this life altering event now in 2013. The legislators along with the Governor in Michigan are wanting to put a cap on the catastrophic claim at 1 million dollars for a lifetime claiming that the cost saving would benefit consumers when the estimated saving would be approximately $125.00 per year. This effort by them are not about us residents but saving Insurance companies millions of dollars.

Huge number of homeless people die of exposure every winter in the cities in the north part of the country. In many of the cities, such as Detroit, New York, etc. there are hundreds of vacant and abandoned houses, factories, or warehouses. that could be used to house them, and protect their lives. This petition is to ask our federal government to step in and save the lives of hundreds or even thousands of homeless men, women, and children by purchasing these buildings and making them into viable shelters for these forgotten citizens of the United States that have been victims of the economic catastrophies brought on by the economic collapse in this country.
