Trempealeau County has been targeted by numerous sand mine companies to start sand operations of one sort of the other. As public hearings are taking place, citizens have witnessed the board members chuckling at them as they state their concerns. Citizens have been also been told that they are "spoiled" when it comes to their peaceful country life. We have been told we will not be affected by the sand mines and their dust, pollution or noise. The citizens of Trempealeau County want our voices heard and we want our concerns acknowledged. Please help us send a message to our state legislature that we are not comfortable with the mines coming to our towns, to our homes, or to our communities! Save our land. Save our communities. I take care of my mother at home. She depends on SSI for her survival. She has Dementia and other disorders. She served this country by raising 7 children. She raised the kids by herself. We lived on 500.00 per month. She is not a burden on this country. Save the programs that save people and help them get to their feet.
