• wage inequality between employers and employees
I am tired of everyone yelling and fighting about taxes. The problem with this country is that no one can afford anything. For over fourty years everything from milk to cars and bills have gone up also to include CEO's salaries but our wages have been stagnant. The reason the middle class is gone is because you have killed us with bills, taxes and anything else you can think of. We all need a major pay increase.

  • Put a salary requirement on H1-B visas
To ensure H1-B visas are not used to import cheaper workers and suppress American's wages, enact a minimum annual salary requirement of at least $150,000. America wants the world's best and brightest, so let them come. But, if they really are the best and brightest, they should at least be able to command a salary of $150,000.

  • NO CUTS IN SOCIAL SECURITY
I am a recipient of Social Security benefits. It's already highly inadequate for financing my modest living expenses. I don't know how I can survive if my meager benefits shrink even further.

  • Stop Social Security Cuts
President Obama released a budget proposal with $112 billion in Social Security cuts. According to the AARP, a typical 80-year-old woman will lose the equivalent of three months worth of food annually under this plan. Today, we reflect on why cutting Social Security is a bad idea: The Government does not fund Social Security, not directly makes contributions to SS. Workers are the only contributing factor. SS is not insolvent. Fact: SS is stable. The government wants to turn it into a voucher system, subject to the stock market. We Simply cannot afford to let this happen. By adding your signature, your signature sends a strong message to our elected officials that we are standing behind them for doing the right thing. Please add your voice to this very important issue. Thank you for all that you do. Larry Green

  • Save Mount Manresa
Beautiful Mount Manresa on Staten Island, is a 10 acre ecological treasure containing mostly original natural landscape unchanged for thousands of years. It is for sale and now in contract to be sold to housing developer in early June. The land was once part of an estate dating back to the 1600s and owned by the Jesuits as a retreat since 1911, being the oldest in America. The land retains the original Terminal Moraine ( hillside ) formed by a glacier during the last Ice Age 20,000 years ago and provides fabulous views of New York Harbor. Rare very old Oak and Tulip trees over a hundred feet tall and a unique old brick water tower from the nineteenth century are found on the property. The north side of the glacial hill contains a concentration of very old Oak and Tulip trees which have grown to great heights. At the base of this hill is beautiful grotto and valley. It is urgent that this petition be signed so this beautiful landscape be protected and preserved as a park for current and future generations can enjoy. The landscape is in great danger of being destroyed by the developer. Once it's gone it is gone forever. For more info, visit our website at www.savemanresa.org
