• No cuts to Social Security, Medicare or our veterans
I am a disabled veteran that is currently living on a pension and Social Security Disability. the Ryan budget, that the President now supports would cut these benefits and cause personal hardship to everyone currently in my position.

  • Why Cut Social Security Benefits?
They plan to cut our Social Security benefits. That is unfair. I have to pay my own medicine. How can I afford it if you cut Social Security benefits?

  • Banned from volunteering at church
Imagine returning from your honeymoon only to be called into your pastor's office and told you're banned from volunteering in church ministries, simply because you got married. Nicholas Coppola is a member of St. Antony's Roman Catholic Church in Oceanside, New York, where he used to lead religious education classes, serve as a lector, and visit homebound parishioners. Nicholas is gay and has been out to everyone at church for years -- a number of parishioners even attended his wedding. But after Nicholas got married, someone sent an ugly anonymous note to the bishop and suddenly he was banned from volunteering at church. The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops claims they're not anti-gay. Just this week their spokeswoman wrote that "No one is carded at a Catholic Church. Shunning is not the Catholic tradition." Now Nichoas Coppola's bishop has an opportunity to prove it.

  • Rep. Price, Save Social Security & Medicare
Protecting the health and well-being of seniors who have paid into the social security and medicare trust funds for decades has not and will not harm the economy. There are changes that can be made -- allowing Medicare to negotiate with pharmaceutical companies, for example -- but cutting benefits is unacceptable. Chained CPIs and raising recipients' age requirements are ways of cutting benefits.

  • Congressional Reform
I'm concerned that instead of the "Citizen" representatives that our founders' intended ,Congress is full of "Professional"non-caring self-centered individuals who are controlled by lobbyists and devote their time to re-election instead of the 'People's business".

  • The Social Security fund is sacrosant
The Social Security fund has NOTHING to do with the Federal Budget, it never has. Tweak it for it's survival into the future, but otherwise leave it alone. Period!

  • President Obama, please consider the underprivileged and elderly
Many Americans have found themselves as victims of this economy; several to the point of complete disillusionment with this countries government, the only thing they have are the Social Security benefits many of them worked hard for. I ask, are you considering them as you try to promote yourself as a "Great" President. I realize you didn't cause this financial nightmare, and I have supported you in the past, however I am beginning to wonder what your true agenda is. "Don't touch Social Security."
