  • Gov. Jeb Bush: Support a Pathway to Citizenship
Jeb Bush used to get it. For the last few years, the former Republican governor of Florida has been a voice of sanity in his party. He's consistently made clear that the GOP needs to stop demonizing immigrants and get on board with real immigration reform that includes a path to citizenship for undocumented Americans. But in an interview this morning, he appeared to throw that all away -- saying that a path to citizenship isn't necessary for reform! Jeb Bush is wrong, and we need to remind him why. Our community has made clear that immigration reform without citizenship won't solve the problem and we don't support it. Use the form on the left to tell Jeb Bush: Listen to the immigration community. Immigration reform must include a path to citizenship!

  • Create Third Party if Democrats Support Austerity
The Democratic White House is poised to cut Social Security, Medicare and other hard earned benefits. The deficit was caused by Wall Street fraud and endless wars.If they choose to abandon working people, we need to abandon them and re-register as independent voters.

  • North Carolina: Pass a Statewide Leash Law
There are too many people that allow their dogs to roam free and breed causing an over population of feral dogs and disease. Also, they are a danger to children, adults and other animals. Passing a State wide leash law would give NC more control on an out of control issue.

  • Robin Kelly: Debate the Candidates for 2nd CD
Robin Kelly told FOX 32 Political Editor Mike Flannery that she won't participate in any more campaign debates. "My schedule is actually very booked; very, very booked," Kelly said when asked if she plans to make it to any more forums before Election Day. Now that the general election is weeks away, it is time to stop hiding and debate the remaining candidates. We all know your thoughts on gun control. But there are more issues in the 2nd Congressional District than gun control. If you want to serve the people, the people want to hear from you. Make yourself available to debate the remaining candidates. You have not won the seat.

  • Berkeley: Keep school board appointees on Peace and Justice Commission
The Berkeley Peace and Justice Commission needs your help. This Tuesday, March 5, the City Council will consider a proposal by two city council members (Wozniak and Moore) that would dismiss the School Board appointees from the commission, and ban the School Board from making appointments in the future. The School Board appointees, historically more racially diverse and representing a broader spectrum of age and background than Council appointees, bring fresh perspective to the commission. At a time when the city's budget is strained, firing volunteers whose work will need to be picked up by City staff members is a shortsighted and misguided mistake.

  • VA Beach Public Schools - Add Lacrosse to school sports
As many school systems across the country and state are considering downsizing or eliminating middle or high school sports programs, the sport of lacrosse, which is both a male and female team sport, should be taken into consideration to add to all public VA Beach middle and high schools. Lacrosse is the fastest growing sport among high school programs across the country and in Virginia. One of the finest public institutions of higher education in the state, Univ of VA, has a top 5 men's and ladies lacrosse team, and the men won the NCAA National Championship two years ago. Although public High School systems in Northern VA and Richmond now offer school sponsored lacrosse programs, Hampton Roads does not, and VA Beach which is the largest city in the state and one of the largest school systems in the state, does not offer lacrosse as a VHSL team sponsored sport. More youth between the ages of 10 - 18 play lacrosse than participate in wrestling, gymnastics, tennis, volleyball, or golf. We need to add this sport NOW to compete with the Northern VA and Richmond area school systems as well as the private schools.
