Genetically modified foods are unlabeled, untested, and potentially unsafe. Early independent studies suggest GMOs cause many health problems such as obesity, cancer, sterility, deformity of body organs as well as fetuses, behavioral problems, etc. GMO foods should be labeled.

My petition is about rising co-payments charged by physicians, or insurance companies, to Medicare patients. I am on social Security Disability, and as such receive a set monthly payment determined by the amount of social security taxes, that I have paid over the years. Because I have been receiving SSD for two years, was automatically placed on the Medicare insurance plan. The amount that I receive for SSD, assists me in paying my monthly bills. Due to me paying my bills, I have little left over for food, so am definitely unable to pay additional charges due to a rise in medical co-payments. Therefore, I am unable to continue to seek medical assistance for the dire health issues that were recently found by my physician. The rise in co-payments, must be stopped!

Representatives Alan Grayson and Mark Takano released a letter to President Obama promising to "vote against any and every cut to Medicare, Medicaid, or Social Security benefits." Within 2 days, the letter had more than a dozen cosigners, but to date, Rep. Mel Watt has not signed on. We want to know definitively that Rep. Watt will stand up against Republican efforts to cut the social safety net.

My children attended public school in the bush of Alaska. They were not able to get the quality of education that children in urban Alaska can. In part to the fact that monies needed by the bush schools are going to a private boarding school in Sitka. The time for Mt. Edgecumbe has come and gone. We want the monies for our sons and daughters to stay at home and not support a private school.

Senate Bill 899 is not fair to injured workers. It gives the enployer the OPTION of approving or rejecting medical treatment for injured workers. This responsibility should be mandated back to the insurance company. It took 3 years for me to get treatment for an on the job injury. THE DOCTORS DON'T LIKE IT, THE WORKERS' COMPENSATION ATTORNEYS DON'T LIKE IT AND INJURED WORKERS DON'T LIKE IT EITHER, SO.HOW DID THIS BILL GET APPROVED?
