STOP! Mental Health CUTS Plan in Texas Mental Health is Real So is Funding These ProgramsMy son is a very intelligent Teenager who has been bullied in School to the point that he became ill. Without the Mental Health Programs designed to counsel, and help children like my son, he would not make it through. Our TEXAS Children should be our Top Priority. How many more of them will self-destruct, Killing other innocent Children, Teachers, and Administrators before we act responsibly, and STOP the CUTS planned for the Mental Health Programs in Texas.2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Hattie McGill

Stand with us as we join together to exercise our right to form a union of adjunct professors!Low compensation, no benefits or job security, and lack of respect for the important work we do endanger our profession and make it increasingly difficult for us to do our best for our students. That's why adjunct professors across the greater Boston area are coming together to form a union with SEIU. We believe that together we can build the strong voice we need to raise standards for our profession and improve the quality of education for our students.2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by SEIU

Veto Senate Bill 4, No Exchange/No Medicaid ExpansionNC must seize "the opportunity to provide access to affordable health care to 500,000 currently uninsured North Carolinians." Hospitals "lose the most on patients who have no insurance at all" and "are counting on an increase in paying Medicaid patients to offset the scheduled loss of the federal indigent care funds." We can't afford to lose our many, small, rural hospitals operating so close to the edge. The House must not pass, and, if it does, Gov. McCrory must veto Senate Bill 4, No Exchange/No Medicaid Expansion. http://www.newsobserver.com/2013/02/18/2690111/verla-insko-keep-medicaid-funds.html8 of 100 SignaturesCreated by M.B. Hardy

Save Florida's livestock ranches10/2011 ALL County gun law regulation was removed. This has affected the equestrians dramatically. Fl is a winter retreat for many equestrians and their horses from other states as well as the home and business of many Olympian trainers, riders and horses. Previous County gun restrictions had law prohibiting the discharge of weapons near, over, or around properties containing livestock. As a result of the removal of this law, injury to person and property has occurred. We need a law at state level protecting the safety of livestock handlers and their livestock, reaffirming our previous County law.1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Sandra Dziak

Student Loans; Stop taking entire Tax Refunds!I have tried to make my student loan payments affordable, sent in tons of paperwork and information. When I had a decent job, I paid my loans. When the economy took a turn, I have not been able to live and send a big enough payment for them. For a year I have been in a battle with the Michigan Guaranty Agency, trying to set a payment that would be reasonable. They took my entire tax refund, now I may not be able to pay any of my bills; to ever get into a good enough position to repay! I barely make over minimum wage & have one child - so I'm not eligible for aid because again to the govt. I'm not poor "enough".5 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Lisa Yamashita

Representative McDermott: Sign The Grayson-Takano LetterOur progressive leaders must stand together and deny the latest Republican attempts to cut our social safety net. There is plenty of revenue hiding in the offshore accounts of huge corporations and no excuse for taking from the most vulnerable.14 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Sarah Bright

Help Recent Graduates by Eliminating the Student Loan Interest Tax Deduction Cap & Adjusting the ...Students and graduates in the US now owe more than $1 TRILLION in student loans. These loans are almost impossible to discharge and make it difficult for young graduates to buy a home and start a family. Currently, the student loan interest tax deduction is capped at $2,500 of student loan interest paid in a given year. This deduction begins to phase out when a graduate’s income hits $60,000 and is completely phased out at an income of $75,000 ($150,000 for a married couple filling jointly).44 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Josh

HOLD GUN OWNERS RESPONSIBLEWe've all watched the ongoing failure to legislate gun control in our Country. It hasn't been accomplished, and I doubt it ever will be. We've watched helplessly as thousands of people have been killed every year. There is, however a way that can eventually have a powerful negitive effect on gun ownership and a positive effect on communities without banning any type of weapon.7 of 100 SignaturesCreated by MARTIN KAPLAN

Pres. Obama: Keep families in their homesMy name is Jessica Gwynn. I wrote a longer version of this story for the "100 Stories of What Wall Street Broke" website run by the Home Defenders League. I am now working with them to tell my story and demand real action from the Obama Administration. In early 2007, as a college-educated professional writer, I joined with my father – me with my good income and he with his perfect credit score – and bought my own home and piece of the American Dream. I was thrilled. I went to work every day, I paid my bills on time, I watered my plants, I made my home and I lived some of my happiest times. Until late 2008 when I and my entire team got fired when my company lost its biggest client. Shocked and panicked I went home to my boyfriend and cried. But together we pulled through, even as I sat unemployed for 8 long months. And when I did get a job, it was at a fraction of my previous salary. But I still made my payments. Then I broke up with my boyfriend. This time I simply could not afford my mortgage. I was terrified and alone. And my bank, well, my bank did everything in their power to make my life even more miserable. They never returned my calls. They lost _all_ my paperwork, every time I submitted it. They called only to threaten me. They even skipped out on their own lawyer when we tried to go through mediation. And they’ve been trying to foreclose since April of 2009. The insane thing is not only did we find out our mortgage was robo-signed but the entire process was fraudulent. In four years, the bank hasn’t been able to provide a single piece of original paperwork. Not one piece. Yet despite this and my every attempt to reach them to work something out, they are relentlessly trying to steal my home. My house is worth about half of what I initially paid for it. My father and I no longer speak. This situation destroyed his good credit and, ultimately, our relationship. And the entire country has changed. Most people I know are working for less than they ever did - yet our mortgages are based on home values we haven’t seen since 2008. We need to keep families together. Keep people in their homes. Refinance based on current home values. The banks should not be allowed to get a huge bailout FROM OUR TAXES and then expect steal our homes from us! It is criminal. President Obama, it is time to do the right thing by the American people. Make the banks accountable for their fraudulent activities and reset mortgages to current home values. Keep people in their homes.148 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Jessica Gwynn
