• Stop Big Banks From Getting Tax Break On Foreclosure Abuse Deal
U.S. mortgage lenders will benefit in a deal to settle charges that they wrongfully foreclosed on many homeowners. Under the deal, 12 mortgage lenders will pay more than $9 billion to compensate hundreds of thousands of people whose homes were seized improperly, a result of abuses such as "robo-signing." That's when banks automatically approved foreclosures without properly reviewing documents. Taxpayers will end up subsidizing them for the settlement money they will have to pay. The Internal Revenue Service regards the lenders' compensation to homeowners as a cost incurred in the course of doing business. Result: It's fully tax-deductible.

  • Don't Tell Apple: Reject the NRA's New Shooting App
The app, released for free on the Apple iTunes store Sunday, provides news and information for the organization, but also includes a 3D shooting simulation that the gun advocacy group says “ instills safe and responsible ownership through fun challenges and realistic simulations.” Gamers can choose between 3 environments including a skeet shoot and 9 firearms, but further weapon upgrades can be bought for $0.99. The current top in-game purchases are the Colt Pistol along with two sniper rifles, the MK11 and Dragunov SVD. The app’s main menu provides information for gun safety, NRA news, hunting season and relevant legislation. The official description claims the app “strikes the right balance of gaming and safety education, allowing you to enjoy the most authentic experience possible.’ Read more: http://www.foxnews.com/tech/2013/01/15/nra-releases-3d-shooter-game-for-people-4-and-up/#ixzz2ILoYE0zS

  • STAND WITH PRESIDENT OBAMA FOR BETTER GUN CONTROL LAWS
Our local primary school received a threatening telephone call the week after the massacre that took place at Sandy Hook school in Newton. My 5 year old granddaughter is a student at our Dyersburg Primary School and I was pleased with the professionalism, care and concern from all our First Responders along with the care and professionalism by the Administration and all employees of the DPS. Our Governor and state legislators want armed guards and/or staff in our schools and I believe that's a bad idea.

  • Fair and Balanced Campaign Donations
Our lawmakers at all levels feel obligated to act on behalf of their most powerful contributors. The majority of the population does not have equal influence. This trend must stop and be reversed. We must limit campaign contributions.

  • Psychiatric nurse practitioner speaks out about gun control.
I treated MD Health Plan patients in West Hartford Ct in 1998 when Mr Beck shot several people in the State Lotto Office. The patient was treated by a psychiatrist who had an office down the hall from me. Mr. Beck might have been my patient. I guess I was lucky because the laws at that time did not allow mental health care providers to report concern regarding gun ownership and our patients. Please support our President!

  • Ban Non Food Grade Substance In Colorado Cannabis
Dispensaries and other large scale grow operations in the state of Colorado work on economies of scale. The law states that Dispensaries must provide their own cannabis for retail. To keep costs down Dispensaries often use agricultural pesticides and other non food grade substances. At this time there is no regulation and these substances are being transfered directly to the consumer. GET PESTICIDES OUT OF OUR MEDICINE Thank you.

  • A Million Mother's March on Washington Against Gun violence
Whether you have lost a loved one to gun violence or not, every mother fears that they too can loose a child to gun violence. Shopping at a Mall, going to see a movie or attending school should not be a threat to your life! A million mother's marching on Washington can give Congress the courage and support they need to pass common sense laws to protect the rights of lawful gun owners and take them out of the hands of criminals. If life begins with mothers then we must lead this march! We can do this!

  • Raise Progressive Revenue Now!
We care about this issue because young people (and many other groups) in Massachusetts need the services provided by our state budget. Yet elected officials frequently shy away from raising taxes, and when they do, they inevitably hurt the poorest among us.
