• Morris County Freeholders: Please Keep Morris View Healthcare Center Public
The mission of our grass-roots group, Morris View Families and Friends, is to keep Morris View as a county-owned facility for our loved ones, our neighbors, and ourselves. This top-notch nursing home and sub-acute care center consistently achieves top ratings by oversight agencies of our state and federal government. It is clean and spacious and offers a full range of services for residents. Staff are caring, responsive, and qualified; they openly communicate with families. Thanks to careful oversight by past boards of Morris County freeholders, Morris View has tremendous value for our communities. We ask current freeholders to keep it that way.

  • Worker Paid Benefits - Drop The Word Entitlements
Social Security and Medicare are taxes paid by American workers. They should not be described as Entitlements. I'd like to see the Democrats change their talking points when it comes to debates over Social Security and medicare by calling them " Worker Paid Benefits

  • Dress Code
The only reason this school has a no-hat policy is because of gangster hats, distracting hats, and people playing with their hats. With a slightly altered dress code for head wear, all hats but gangster and distracting hats would be allowed. I'm not the only person rooting for the "go hats" side.

  • Social Security Immunity
I have watched as both parties in Congress, and our president, use the money taken from the paychecks of all working Americans as a bargaining chip in political battles. This needs to stop. This fund was instituted to provide a needed cushion to senior citizens and disabled citizens. It should be immune to being plundered by politicians for other causes. These funds belong to the American people, not the politicians for their political maneuvering.

  • Kraft Foods: Stop adding trans-fats to your products!
In spite of near universal agreement that trans-fats and high-fructose corn syrup are unhealthy additives to food, Kraft Foods continues to produce food products containing these ingredients. Although many of us are aware of the unhealthy aspects of trans-fats and high-fructose corn syrup and avoid foods that contain them, a large number of consumers, unfortunately, are less savvy about nutrition and tend to assume that the food they buy, especially from brand name companies, is healthy. Consequently, it should be the responsibility of all food producing companies to provide the healthiest foods possible so that all food consumers will benefit.

  • Target: Do not carry Skaist & Taylor in your stores.
Skaist & Taylor sell fur products that are made from the skins of animals like dogs, cats, rabbits and foxes. They are raised in deplorable conditions on "fur farms" in China and are often skinned alive for their fur. Despite being aware of these facts and receiving numerous requests from consumers, S & T continues their barbaric practices. We need to send Target a message that we will not shop there until they drop Skaist & Taylor from their clothing dept.

  • We the citizens of The United States demand these laws be ratified for the equality of all citize...
We the citizens of The United States demand these laws be ratified for the equality of all citizens and their representatives. For a healthier and sound Government Congressional Reform Act 1. No Tenure / No Pension.for a Congressman/woman Congressman/woman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they're out of office. 2. Congress (past, present & future) participates in Social Security. All funds in the Congressional retirement fund move to the Social Security system immediately. All future funds flow into the Social Security system, and Congress participates with the American people. It may not be used for any other purpose. 3. Congress must earn their own retirement in the private sector, just as all Americans do. 4. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise. Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%. 5. Congressmen lose their current health care once they leave office and participates in the same health care system as the American people. 6. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the American people. 7. All contracts with past and present Congressmen/women are void effective 12/1/13. The American people did not make this contract with Congressmen/women. 8. pass a law that says that anytime there is a deficit of more than 3% of GDP, all sitting members of Congress are ineligible for re-election Congress made all these contracts for themselves. Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, so ours should serve their term(s), then go home and back to work.

  • The Death Penalty in Florida
I, along with friends from Amnesty International, Valencia college, UCF, PeaceBuilders with Justice of Florida, and professionals like Joe Durocher, have worked against the death penalty for many years want to change the unjust Death Penalty in Florida. Poverty and race are more influential in the verdict than guilt. The Florida system is deeply flawed as shown by its high rate of exoneration: 24 men were released from Death Row when found innocent. Who knows how many of the 74 who were executed were also innocent?
