  • LET'S MAKE MSHSL SPORTS FAIR!!!
the current classification system for high school sports in our state is unfair and Should not include schools that recruit athletes. As a member of the community and a parent of a high school athlete, I have noticed a growing trend of private schools recruiting players and athletes from all over the state. This has led to an unfair advantage for these schools and puts regular public schools at a disadvantage. I strongly believe that private schools who recruit players and athletes should be in a class of their own or be required to compete at the highest class for high school sports. Currently, these schools are placed in the same class as regular public schools, which I believe is not fair. Private schools have the resources and means to recruit top players and build teams that are almost unbeatable. This puts tremendous pressure on hometown teams who do not have the same recruiting abilities. Furthermore, it is not just about the competition, but also about sportsmanship and fairness. When private schools recruit players, they are essentially building an all-star team, which goes against the true spirit of high school sports. Regular public schools, on the other hand, rely on their students who live in the community and may not have the same level of talent and skill. It is not fair for these teams to compete against each other as it can be demoralizing and discouraging for the players who have put in their hard work and dedication in their respective sports. I understand that private schools may argue that they have the right to recruit and build strong teams to compete at the highest level. However, I believe that they should be required to compete in a separate class or at the highest class, where they can compete against other schools with similar resources and recruiting abilities. This will level the playing field and make the competition more fair and enjoyable for all. I urge the Minnesota State High School League Board to take action on this matter and consider creating a separate class or requiring private schools to compete at the highest class for high school sports. As a parent and a member of the community, I believe it is our responsibility to ensure that all high school athletes have an equal opportunity to compete and showcase their skills.

  • Too many lives lost! This dangerous road needs caution lights!
It’s a simple solution to prevent additional lives being lost at the sharp curve in the road. I lost my fiancé Sunday at this location. No one should have to hold a loved one as they take their last breath at this intersection ever again! This memory will forever replay in my mind! Something has to be done so that more families do not have to grieve the loss of a loved one and forever have their lives changed ever again! This is a small change that can make such a huge impact on the future lives of others.

  • Fair Insurance Pricing in South Florida
I am starting this petition to bring to your attention a matter of pressing concern for the residents of South Florida – the escalating issue of soaring insurance costs, which has deeply affected individuals and families in our community. It is disheartening to share that despite instances where individuals, including my husband and myself, were not at fault for accidents, insurance companies have disproportionately increased premiums, causing considerable financial distress. This trend appears pervasive as local conversations reveal a shared experience of substantial, seemingly unjustified, rate hikes. The impact is not confined to individual households; it reverberates throughout our community. Families are grappling with difficult decisions as they attempt to meet inflated insurance premiums, ultimately affecting local spending and impeding economic growth. In light of these concerns, I am initiating this petition, urging you to lend your support for fair insurance pricing in South Florida. The petition aims to spotlight the personal stories of residents who have faced unwarranted increases and advocate for regulatory measures that ensure a just and transparent insurance market. By signing this petition, we, the undersigned, collectively call for the local government intervention to rectify this situation and establish a fair insurance pricing system that considers the well-being of South Florida residents. The leadership of those local government officials that decide to participate in addressing this issue is pivotal, and we trust in your commitment to the welfare of our community. Thank you for your time and consideration.

  • Virtual Option for RCHS African American Parent Advisory Committee
Having a virtual option for the AAPAC meetings, allows parents who do not have the physical capacity to attend all meetings in person. • Tell the WSJ: Publish a retraction, issue an apology, and cut ties with the author!
The Wall Street Journal, a media outlet with a huge following, published an article that calls an American city the "jihad capital" of the country, and condemns the communities living in Dearborn as terrorists for calling for a ceasefire. It was written by Stephen Salinsky, the leader of Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI), a well-known right-wing organization that spouts Islamophobic rhetoric. Since its publishing, the mayor reports that threats against Dearborn and its local population have increased, requiring additional law enforcement in the area. The Wall Street Journal’s publishing of the article, including its bombastic title, was irresponsible and brought monetary and other harm to the city of Dearborn. The United States is on the cusp of dealing with a regional war and facing rising tensions domestically and internationally. It is abhorrent of the Wall Street Journal to publish such vitriol that inherently builds consent for US intervention. The mayor of Dearborn, governor Whitmer, and President Biden all have condemned the article. Salinsky's claim about Dearborn is Islamophobic, targeting the city for its largely Arab-American population. According to the 2020 U.S. Census, the majority of Dearborn's population, 54.5%, is made up of Middle Eastern or North African ancestry. People of Lebanese descent comprise the largest, followed by people of Yemeni descent.

It is very important that people join in on this so that we can possibly change the policy in the regulations of the cemetery so that friends and family can continue to celebrate their loved ones life and celebrate who they were when they were here because this is the only way we know how to do that This is the only way we have left to celebrate these important times with our deceased loved ones.

The importance of consistency in education and learning can not be understated. This is especially true in the case of young children learning fundamental educational principles such as, rudimentary mathematics, language arts buildings blocks, social- emotional skills and problem solving. With out consistent guidance and direction from a trusted source with a developed social relationship, children will lose interest, focus and most importantly progression with these fundamental build blocks. Every parent entrusts their child learning the this school for six hours every day expecting that their child will be receiving a consistent quality level of education and this does not seem to be the case in this situation.
