Hillsdale College promotes extreme ideology and propaganda-based instruction for school children. They don’t want to teach real history of the US, only the parts that favor white conservative Christians. They don’t believe that qualified teachers are necessary, because “anybody can do it”.

Six people were shot to death at the Highland Park fourth of July parade, and dozens more were injured. Meanwhile, the Supreme Court is intent on tearing down gun reform legislation. Republican members of Congress are still touting the meager gun control measures passed after the recent tragedies in Uvalde, TX and Buffalo, NY — but that legislation is not enough. We need laws that actually control lethal assault weapons, like the one used in Highland Park — including banning the sale of high-capacity magazines and raising the purchasing age for assault weapons.

Art history and public art is important in all communities and it's proper and accurate portrayal allows for generational pride educational opportunities and common community purpose. African American history is important to Leesburg and Loudoun County and the community has been in the fight for many years to have the full history of our families, businesses and many contributions included in schools and textbooks. The historic town building that is currently occupied by the Loudoun Museum should not be used for any mural. The rule of law is paramount in our Republic, and no one - including Supreme Court Justices - are above the law. Corporations have a responsibility to step up in the wake of the Supreme Court decision that eliminated the federal right to an abortion. Disney took an important stance by creating a policy to support employees who have to travel out of state to get abortion care. But, Disney is part of the reason this decision was handed down! They need to halt donations to anti-abortion politicians. In 2020, 53% of all of Disney’s political giving was to anti-abortion politicians. Disney can’t claim to be a pro-family organization when they are giving to anti-family politicians who want to control our own reproductive health decisions.
