  • Fair Districts- Fair Voting
State election supervisors can not be biassed toward, or actively working for, a particular candidate, and fairly oversee election law. In recent years, even the pretense of objectivity has been ignored. States must enact non-partisan election boards to oversee elections and eliminate gerrymandering.

  • Holding Corporate America Responsible
Holding Corporate America responsible for any overseas manufactured goods that arrive in the USA tainted with melamine or any other toxic chemical that can pose a health threat to humans and animals. No one should profit from making humans or animals sick, and when it does, products need to be pulled from shelves immediately and corporations need to be held responsible!!

  • Preserve ALL Medical History for Military Families
Because hospitals, health practitioners, doctors/facilities, only keep patient files for 8 - 10 years they are gone for good after that time. The military, on many occasions, after concluding they were in part responsible for some illnesses to the veteran and family, wish to compensate for damages. Example: Atomic Vet - military who participated in occupation of Japan right after bomb was dropped. V-Vet - military exposed to Agent Orange, et al, in Viet Nam. The Veterans Administration asks the families for medical proof when filing a claim. By the time a claim is filed, records have been destroyed. My father in law was an A-Vet who passed in 1990, did not go to VA Hosp since he had no reason to say his cancer was caused from his participation in Japan in 45-46. The military did not release this information until 1996. My father, a V-Vet, fought in Korean War as well as Viet Nam, passed in 1973, 4 year after a 20 year career. He was subjected to Agent Orange and also spent 5 years in Japan. Because it is always after the fact, and years later, I believe the medical records for the Vet as well as their families since exposure may be passed to future generations, should be preserved.

  • Stop outside political donations
I am now aware of the fact that many campaine donations come from outside the United States. Donators have influence over the candidate they support and there fore should not be able to influence our government. No wonder companies allowed unless they are tax payers. Rather individual, business or conglomerate only those within the US should be have offices outside of the US. If those companies could not contribute to campaines they would have a reason to have their offices inside the US and pay their taxes here.

  • End Employer Issued Credit Checks
In the health care field, it is common practice for workers to have to pass drug tests, criminal background tests, and get DCFS clearance. However, in the past several years, many companies, including most major hospitals, have added credit checks to the application process. This forces many otherwise qualified candidates out of their chosen field, and into working for less wages with fewer or no benefits. This practice needs to end now. Making gainful employment only accessible if one can pass a credit check is only helping to force individuals and families into poverty. Please sign my petition to make our state and national leaders aware of this policy.

  • Stop feeding our children junk food in schools
We need to start giving our children "real" food in schools. Studies have shown that the more children eat processed and sugary foods and beverages the more likely they are to become obese, diseased and have violent tendencies. If we all got together and spoke with local farmers and growers we could easily be able to give our children real nutrition. We must change policies to make it easier to accomplish this. I am not a mother but I am witnessing what these deplorable disease causing foods are doing to my siblings children. I am also a Holistic Nutritionist and know how harmful these foods that are being offered to our children are.

  • Campaign Reform - Stop the Waste!!!
We, the United States of America, waste too much time and money on campaigning, especially the presidential campaign. This year's presidential campaign is projected at $1 billion - that's ridiculous!!! Can't we find something better to do with $1 billion??? I believe the presidential campaign should be limited to 3 nationally televised debates and that is it. No mailings, continuous TV commercials, etc.
