Finalizing a $11.3 billion order for up to 148,000 gas-powered postal delivery trucks from Oshkosh Defense in blatant disregard for President Biden’s plan to electrify the fleet. Oshkosh Defense then announced that the trucks would not be built by union workers at the company’s Wisconsin plant, and instead would be produced by non-union workers in South Carolina. Not only would this bait-and-switch put hundreds of thousands of trucks on the road with the fuel efficiency of a Hummer, but it would also deprive 1,000 Wisconsin workers of a government contract. Post office trucks are a long-term investment in our shared future, not an opportunity for corporations to line their pockets by underpaying workers. We need to block the contract — unless it’s revised to ensure at least 75 percent of the new vehicles Oshkosh makes are electric or otherwise emissions-free!

We as citizens of West Virginians struggle so much already. It isn’t fair to us that they keep increasing rates, and we receive bills that majority of people complain that there’s no reason their bill should be as high as it is. Kentucky just won, and their situation was the same as what our state is complaining about now. Something needs to be done, and the citizens of West Virginia need to know that somebody has our back. West Virginia is one of the best states in the nation, no matter how low the economy is right now. We stand together

Throughout this institution’s history, we as students have been left to fend for ourselves as our concerns and demands fall on dismissive ears. We look forward to continuing to collaborate with any and all offices that we must in order to accomplish our mission of making all essential health products equally accessible to all students on Davidson’s campus. We are at an historical moment, not unlike 1939, where the idea of democracy itself is under threat and where we need to understand that unless we fully confront this threat immediately we may not get another chance to avoid a global catastrophe.

Racism is creating a hostile, uncomfortable, and unwelcoming environment for certain kids. All kids deserve to feel welcomed, comfortable and safe. This has gone on for too long and has gone too far. We need to show these kids that they have support, they’re being heard and something is being done!

They must see that there is a price to be paid for continued allegiance to a man who is publicly undermining US foreign policy and siding with our adversary. As of now multiple states are trying to ban books from schools; many of these books deal with racism, America's history of slavery, LGBTQ+ themes/characters, etc. Examples of books that could be potentially banned are as follows: Maus written and illustrated by Art Spiegelman Monster written by Walter Dean Myers The Undefeated written by Kwame Alexander, illustrated by Kadir Nelson Class Act written by Jerry Craft And more. Banning these books would be an act of prejudice and amorality, as many of these books provide a more realistic account of the atrocities of our past and present history, many also allow children the chance to learn about themselves as well as other kinds of people.

It is imperative to the future of our students that this attack on the education of black and brown students be stopped and that our school systems are fully funded. Hogan's defunding of Black and Brown children is racist!

There are many stories to tell about December 27, 2021. We can talk about the incredible humans that were lost, those who survived but must heal impossible wounds; and the way that the community rallied in the wake of tragedy. The one story that does not need to be spread or glorified is that of the shooter.

His victims have suffered enough already! This is just wrong.

Concerned Idaho and regional citizens have gathered hundreds of signatures on this previously offline, informal, public petition, demanding bans of hydraulic fracturing (fracking) and oil and gas waste injection wells in Idaho during the last decade. Meanwhile, federal and state governments have changed authority and regulations of fossil fuels exploration, production, and infrastructure, as development has proposed and imposed oil and gas extraction and waste wells and associated facilities, and has fracked and acidized geothermal and hydrocarbon wells. We request your petition signature supporting the permanent prohibition in Idaho of fracking and other well treatments and Class II underground injection control wells.

Not only is this proof of an unequal justice system in this country, but no one should ever be jailed for attempting to exercise their right to vote.
