  • Men's Health Care
We women don't want the men left out of the silliness and absurdity and intrusion that the women are being hit with, and dragged kicking and screaming into this mire. The Laws are: all male babies should have prostrate exams as soon as they are born. All males, asked for or not, should have circumcisions as soon as they hit puberty, to make their lives better. And, all males must have colonoscopies, more prostrate exams, and a note from their mothers to get prescriptions for Viagra.

  • Enough is Enough - Stop Workplace Bullying
We forget that statistics are people, and people that matter. • The U.S. Department of Labor produced a fact sheet on numerous events in the workplace. In July 2010 they concluded that over a 5 year span, from 2004–2008, there were an average of 564 work-related homicides that occurred each year in the United States of America. About 4 out of 5 homicide victims in 2008 were male. • The U.S. National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health states that homicide is the second highest cause of death on the job after motor vehicle accidents. That amounts to every 3 cases to 10,000 workers. Over 2 million workers are assaulted each year and 2, 000 people are murdered. • A 2007 national survey by Zogby International and Workplace Institute found that: • 37% of workers have experienced workplace bullying. • 62% of employees who received complaints about workplace bullying either ignored the problem or made it worse. • 64% of bullying targets eventually are pushed out of their jobs. • 73% of workplace bullies are supervisors. - In the spring of 2011, I was in a Federal Deposition with Verizon, and they admitted, under oath, that they receive over 104,000 EEO complaints a year. That comes out to 8,666 a month, and 2,000 a week, 400 a day. Why so many?

  • Don't Let Our Schools Be Bought & Sold
After a decade of Mayor Bloomberg running our schools on a corporate reform agenda, only half of White and Asian students, and only 13% of Black and Latino students graduate ready for college. Yet a new coalition supported by hedge fund managers and corporate CEOs has committed to raise $50 million to make sure the policies of Mayor 13% live on. We will not let the education of the next generation of New Yorkers be bought and sold. We want a new direction for public schools. We refuse to vote for the next Mayor 13%.

  • Democrats: Pull the National Convention from Charlotte, NC
On May 8, 2012, the state of North Carolina passed an amendment to its constitution that would ban any "domestic legal union" other than marriage between one man and one woman. This amendment will have devastating consequences for NC families, gay or straight, in terms of access to healthcare, higher taxes, protections against domestic violence, death benefits, pensions, hospital visitation rights, etc. We call upon the Democratic National Committee to take a stand for justice and equality by pulling the 2012 National Convention out of Charlotte, NC.

  • Kundalini Yoga and Meditation in School
According to numerous researches conducted over a decade in US schools, nationwide, elementary and high school students who practice yoga regularly derive a set of psychological benefits. The studies assessed the students' development of self-regulatory skills, including their resilience, control of anger expression, and mindfulness, which are believed to protect against developing mental health problems as well as improvement of their academic performance. Kundalini Yoga and meditation practice in school will give every child a chance to sustain and restore harmony & energetic balance in the body and live a happy, stress –free, fulfilled life.!

  • Move the Democratic National Convention
Now that the state of North Carolina has codified hate in its constitution, a stand needs to be taken to show that this is not acceptable behavior. The Democratic National Convention should be moved from Charlotte, NC to a location in a state that fully supports equal rights.

  • Justice for Thomas Payne, Jr.
"Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere" - Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Tom Petty wrote: "Redemption comes to those who wait, forgiveness is the key." Governor Beshear has the key and must step in and provide justice for Thomas Payne, Jr., his family, and the community to which he wishes to return and make a meaningful contribution. 61 year old Thomas Payne, Jr., has been serving a life sentence for the majority of his adult life. Thomas was 20 years old when his actions resulted in this sentence. He lives with remorse every day for his actions and dedicates his life to Christ. He has more than served the time of his sentence, enough to merit an equitable commutation. In fact, he has served enough time toward a twenty year sentence to merit release without application of credit for good time earned. At present, he is working as an Institutional Grievance Aide at Little Sandy Hook Correctional Complex. In this role, he interacts daily with staff and inmates concerning dispute resolution and problem solving. He utilizes this position to positively impact the beliefs, values, and behaviors of young inmates having issues with adjustment and rebellion against authority. These contributions can be put to better use if we take action today!
