Education as an answer to the obesity epidemic. It is health that is real wealth and not pieces of gold and silver. Mahatma Gandhi If this is true we are in a great depression. The prevalence of obesity has become more than a noticeable problem in our society and with childhood diabetes on the rise it is time to take action in becoming a healthier society. Americans want government help in paying for medication and subsidizing health care but why not set aside money to help people prevent from having a lot of problems that could easily have been prevented by education.22 of 100 SignaturesCreated by carissa

Health Care FreedomLast week the European Parliament Interest Group made a recommendation to the EU commission that complementary care be made part of their directive - for the EU to "actively support the greater integration of complementary and alternative medicine into the healthcare of EU citizens, especially with regards to the prevention and treatment of cancer". The World Health Organization has for many years incorporated it's recommendation to all world governments that they incorporate these alternative options into their existing health care systems. It is time for the US to adopt this directive. Americans spend billions of dollars out of pocket on these therapies, many of which have been studied and approved by the WHO. The integration of modern Western therapies and preventive and complementary medicine is an answer to out of control health care costs. The US outspends all other nations, with markedly inferior health outcomes. Change is needed, and we know what will move us forward. Incorporate proven alternative therapies into our insurance services.4 of 100 SignaturesCreated by laura kelly

once a drug dealer always a drug dealer.California has a law that discriminates. Anyone that has ever been convicted of illegal drug sales, is disqualified from getting government help. No food. ( EBT ) No cash aid. This law is unfair and forces people that can't get jobs to turn back to illegal means to survive.2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Alex Leyva Pena

End the Silence: Support the Roman Catholic Sisters of LCWRWe are calling on all people of truth and concern for justice and dignity to support the religious women (sisters/nuns) of the Catholic Church who have worked tirelessly for truth, justice, and helping the poor. Currently the Leadership Conference of Women Religious (roughly the leadership organization for 80% of the 57,000 sisters in the U.S.) have been censured by the Vatican, which means they are losing their appointed leaders, the policies, and framework for organizing their programs.1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Merry Weather

Thank you to Ameican Marine Veterans of World War II. HR23The United States Merchant Marine was involed in war service from 1939 to 1946. The Mariners operated the ships that delivered the troops to their fighting stations, kept them supplied and to keep them supplied these mariners lost their lives and ships fighting Germans and Japanese submaeines, aircraft and pocket battleships, were interned as prisoners of war and they were refused to be recognized as veterans for benefits under the GI bill in 1984 after a law suit the Mariners, they were declaired veterans. Since that time the Mariners have been fighting to get Congress to pass a bill that would give these Combat Veterans some benefits. Every western nation that was involved in World War II have given their Merchant Mariners some benefits. We are asking for some help to get HR23 passed. Everyone is asked to write, call, fax your Congressman to sign on as a co-sponsor and supporter.3 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Charles A Mills

Medicare for 55+I feel that the eligible age for medicare should be lowered to fifty-five. While it is not Universal Single Payer, it would benefit a group of that strongly supported the Affordable Health Care Act. Also, it would show that there is more ways than one to skin a cat. Keep lowering the age until everyone is universally covered. Also, premiums might go down, because you are adding a younger, healthier crowd to medicare..4 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Deanna

Recognize Cannabis as Medicine in Cooperation with the United Nations Right to Health. The United Nations defined the right to health in Article 12 of the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights in 1966. The Covenant guarantees the "right of everyone to the enjoyment of the highest attainable standard of health". By refusing citizens the right to choose cannabis as an effective medicine found through scientific evidences, the U.S. government is breaking the U.N. Right to Health law. Please end this War on people who have chosen a safe alternative to prescription medications.70 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Tim Lounsbury
