Students should feel that their bodies are not ground for discrimination or bias. Also, students should also feel comfortable on campus knowing that teachers are being held accountable for issuing false dress code violations willy nilly. 

MoveOn has joined a coalition of organizations ahead of the election are calling on members of Congress to:  • Denounce any attempt to intimidate, harass, threaten, or incite political violence;  • Reject attempts to spread misinformation about the integrity of the United States’ elections; and • Agree to accept the ultimate outcome of the election, promptly certify the result, and support the peaceful transfer of power. The insurrection of January 6, 2021, was a stain on our history and a dangerous and deadly reminder of what happens when our elected officials do not act with integrity when it comes to the peaceful transition of power.  This is not partisan. This is about our democracy and the ability of our elected leaders to put aside their own individual political goals in order to uphold the Constitution and the will of the people.  When we vote, Congress has the responsibility to honor those votes. Congress has the power to make sure that our neighbors in states impacted by category 4 Hurricane Helene and incoming Hurricane Milton get the funding needed for rescue efforts to save lives, basic necessities like water, food, and prescriptions, and rebuilding their communities, homes, roads, businesses, and infrastructure. Congress is currently out of session through November 12, but relief can't wait. So we have to come together to make sure they return and get it done—because hundreds of thousands of impacted people are counting on the lifesaving resources that Congress can deliver. Just last week, Congress passed a bill that would fund the government through December, but despite forecasted hurricanes and wildfires raging, it left out billions of dollars that were requested for supplemental disaster funding—which would’ve been available now to communities impacted by Hurricane Helene. Frustrated by underfunded disaster relief, Representative Kathy Castor of Florida said, “The right-wingers here, the MAGA crowd, even after disasters happen, they have opposed disaster aid for communities in need.” It's completely unacceptable. FEMA’s disaster relief fund is already depleted and is currently at a nearly $2 BILLION deficit, forcing them to hold back billions of dollars in rebuilding projects to support more lifesaving work.6 But this was avoidable. FEMA should have the funding it needs to provide relief to our communities, which are enduring one climate catastrophe after another. Disaster funding should never be a partisan issue. Our communities that have been harmed by Hurricane Helene can’t wait until Congress is back in session in November; they need relief right now. Congress must come back and pass supplemental disaster funding NOW. Will you sign the petition?

The more people that stand with us will prove to Pender County that they can not simply pick on the mothers of our community without repercussion. Funeral homes are taking advantage of customers by gouging prices and not properly disclosing their prices. The NFDA's Funeral Rule Offenders Program does not hold funeral homes who engage in these practices accountable since they have a direct stake in the success of the industry. Reject Xcel Energy's 20-year extension request for the Monticello nuclear power plant. • The plant is 53 years old, making it one of the three oldest in the US. • The 2022 leak of 829,000 gallons of radioactive tritium and other carcinogens poses a threat to: • The Mississippi River, a drinking water source for 20 million people. • The environment and wildlife. • The food chain through irrigation of crops. • Tritium exposure, especially during pregnancy, is linked to: • Cancers in newborns. • Pregnancy loss. • Birth abnormalities. We say NO! NO to the deadly radioactivity harming our children, environment, drinking water, and food! NO to the extension request! We demand the safe shutdown of the Monticello plant!

It is important because the ban on marijuana businesses and the moratorium restrict the community from benefiting from the legal, regulated marijuana industry in Ohio. By opposing this ban, we can promote economic growth, create jobs, and increase tax revenue for our city. Allowing marijuana businesses ensures a safer, regulated market, reducing the risks associated with unregulated, illegal sales. People should join this campaign to align local policy with state law, support responsible economic development, and protect community safety through legal regulation rather than unnecessary prohibition. Together, we can ensure Greenville embraces opportunities while safeguarding our future.

Why This Matters The Melrose rooftop is a shared community space, and the ability to utilize it for walking my dog is part of the living experience that was promised when I moved in. Restricting access without any documented safety, maintenance, or legal violations undermines the trust and expectations that were established. Moreover, limiting the use of public amenities based on complaints from a single tenant, as has been suggested, sets a dangerous precedent for the community at large. This petition represents not only my personal concerns but those of other residents who value the building’s pet-friendly environment and expect to continue living in a space that respects the terms of the lease and the rights of all tenants. I respectfully request a prompt review of this matter and a formal response outlining the steps that will be taken to resolve these concerns.

We've had enough of being left out by Meta without a valid reason and navigating their exhausting and unhelpful customer support maze. Every Missouri citizen should be gravely concerned by Governor Parson's disregard for the "innocent until proven guilty" principle enshrined in the U.S. Constitution. His actions signal a troubling pattern of poor leadership, racial bias, and a lack of compassion, raising serious doubts about his ability to serve the people of Missouri with fairness and integrity. If such disregard for justice continues, it will inevitably result in further disappointment and harm to the citizens he is entrusted to represent.

Dr. Rouhollah Aghasaleh’s only crime was to stand with students in the face of police violence from the administration at the time. Dr. Aghasaleh was a voice for peace and reason throughout the process and the overall occupation was actually safer due to their presence. Standing with Palestinians that are the victims of genocide and standing with students in the face of police violence and injustice are also not crimes. We do not believe that it is right to indefinitely suspend ANYONE in this way. Please do the right thing and bring Dr. Aghasaleh back to campus! In the time that they have been gone, they have continued to do teach-ins at no charge because they are truly that committed to, and passionate, about education.
