• Changing Healthcare Fingerprint Law
I believe that FS 456.0321 is targeting healthcare professions unjustly. This law extorts $23 million dollars from healthcare professionals in Florida. He make Florida a better place to practice healthcare while supporting you local economy.

  • Child Labor in the DRC
As a student concerned about child labor in the global supply chain, I’m writing this to urge you to introduce a new bill that would make Cobalt a conflict material within the Democratic Republic of Congo. Based on your support for international humanitarian efforts, I am hoping you will be in support of this and the peace it will bring thousands of people. The Congo supplies over half of the world’s cobalt, which has put pressure on their mines to increase production as global demand has skyrocketed. This has caused them to quickly need more workers, and they have turned to children to fill the gap. There are an estimated 40,000 child laborers working in these mines, accounting for just under half of all cobalt miners. These children work 12 hour days without protection, putting them at risk of asphyxiation or other accidental death, for compensation of only $1-2 per day. Working in these mines not only puts children’s health at risk but also their social growth, as they have no time to interact with other children and have fun. In addition, many kids drop out of school to work full time in the mines and never get a thorough education. This leads to lower paying jobs as adults and ultimately puts them at a disadvantage later in life. Something has to change. Currently, section 1502 of the Dodd-Frank Act includes gold, tin, and tungsten, but cobalt is noticeably absent. The increased regulation on the listed minerals has had a tremendous positive effect on how these minerals are sourced. Transparency requirements along the global supply chain have helped to audit 75% of mines for these minerals. Furthermore, 79% of tin and tungsten miners in the Congo now work at conflict-free mines that are considered “peaceful”, defined as an absence of child labor, reasonable working conditions, and fair compensation. Inspecting these mines for legality and cooperation with child labor laws have helped to reduce the number of children mining for conflict minerals. The problem is that children have a new industry to turn to: cobalt mining. By adding cobalt to the list of conflict materials, mines would need to be checked for child labor, and companies would be forced to find other sources. Children could escape the dangerous mines and have a chance at a childhood and an education. This law has caused enormous improvements in other mineral’s mines, and it would help children mining for cobalt just as much. I hope you will consider action in Congress that would either introduce new legislature or edit the existing bill to solve this dire problem. The children need our action to free them from their enslavement, and I firmly believe that this legislature is the first step towards them. Thank you for your time, The Students of Vernon Hills High School

  • Remove Cannabis From the Controlled Substances Act
I am starting this petition because of the fact that I currently have two cousins currently in jail for non-violent marijuana drug offenses. They did not cause any harm to anybody nor sold the product but simply used the product recreationally and are now sitting in a jail cell. This is not moral and makes no sense to spend tax money on people who are non-violent to society.

  • End Ban on Transgender Military Personnel
My sibling is transgender and transphobia is seemingly becoming a trend amongst Trump supporters. I personally care too much about my sibling along with the rights of transgender people to see something like this pass in the supreme court. This is unjust and not moral and in no way represents what America is based off of.

  • Climate change kills, we need the Green New Deal!
Climate change impacts everyone but South Carolina is extremely vulnerable. In recent years we have had increased flooding, a rising number of dangerous heat days, and our coast is at risking of rising seas. South Carolina should take steps towards a more sustainable future by not investing in fossil fuels and moving towards a 100% renewable economy. We are also asking for South Carolina to educate and train youth on sustainable careers and climate change through a summit, weekend event, or training day. Climate change is a national emergency and we need to take the necessary steps to combat it.

  • Corruption in New Jersey's Judicial System
The Supreme Court commissioned a "Special Committee" on Foreclosure procedures in New Jersey. They claimed they wanted to preserve the "right to due process". What a farce. The Committee issued recommendations which did NOT include changes to Rule 4:64-2. The Supreme Court sought Public Comments. ALL Public Comments were against changing the Court Rule, but the NJ Supremes went ahead and changed it, anyway. Please sign my Petition. Homeowners in New Jersey are being deprived of the "right to due process" by the very Court that claims they are trying to protect the "right to due process". The NJ Supremes should have just come right out and said "Proofs needed to Foreclose-NONE. You don't have to prove you have the right to Foreclose in New Jersey. Just declare a default and you're good to go". People all across this land should be OUTRAGED!

  • Stop the Widening of I-495/I-270
On December 18, the three-member Board of Public Works is scheduled to take a vote on amendments for the controversial $11 billion I-495 Beltway/I-270 widening project. If passed, amendments would allow the state to take properties before environmental review; backtrack on the promise to share revenue for transit; change the project phasing; and expedite the construction schedule.  We all want congestion relief, but the current plan will not provide it. In other communities, high-toll “luxury lanes” are not attractive to wealthy commuters unless standard lanes have significant backups. To reduce congestion, we must focus on moving people, not automobiles, and significantly incorporate viable transit into the project. We also have significant concerns about the nearly 1,500 homes that could be impacted by the combined project. And the project as planned will undo millions of dollars in downcounty stormwater projects and destroy parks and streams. To reduce congestion, we must focus on moving people, not automobiles. For all of these reasons, it will be a terrible mistake if the Board of Public Works (Governor Hogan, Comptroller Franchot and Treasurer Kopp) approves these amendments next week. This project cannot be allowed to go forward without a traffic study showing that it will work, without a fiscal analysis, and without an Environmental Impact Statement.

  • National Grid Gas or Private Oil Companies, Wouldn't you like to have the option?
Currently, the majority of neighborhoods within the town of Brookhaven do not have an option of choosing gas for heating/cooking/cooling our homes due to the lack of pipes laid underground. The cost of both options (gas or oil) is rising, however, the cost to heat/cook/cook in our homes is by far more expensive with oil as opposed to gas. Why continue to worry about running out of oil in the middle of a blizzard when having your home heated by National Grid is more stable? Please join me by signing and passing on this petition if you too would like the option to choose...Gas or Oil.

  • END Mainstream Media bias against Bernie Sanders/CNN & MSNBC
We are demanding that Mainstream Media Outlets, such as CNN & MSNBC, start showing fair coverage of Bernie Sanders’ strong support across America. We are convinced that some of the same tactics that Mainstream Media employed during the Democratic Primaries of 2016 are being used again. This resulted in our Candidate losing the Democratic Nomination and by default putting Donald Trump in the White House. ***This petition will also be delivered to Philip T. Griffin, President of MSNBC*** Background: https://gritpost.com/recent-poll-biden-confuses-distorts-support-bernie/

  • Gov. Pritzker: Don't criminalize environmental protests.
The world’s leading climate scientists have warned there are only 12 years to stave off the worst-case scenarios of climate change by keeping warming to a maximum of 1.5 degrees Celsius. Yet the Illinois House passed an ALEC* and fossil fuel industry sponsored bill (HB 1633) that criminalizes environmental protests on dirty energy sites like pipelines, coal mines, power plants and many more. This legislation is designed to stop the next Standing Rock / #NoDAPL movement-style protest by intimidating people who would stand up for clean water, clean air and a future for our planet. If it passes the Illinois Senate, we will have just a few weeks to persuade Gov. Pritzker to veto this bill. *ALEC (American Legislative Exchange Council) is a secretive lobbying group run by and for corporations. They focus primarily on advancing their agenda in state legislatures.

  • The Attorney-General of the United States
William Pelham Barr, the current Attorney -General MUST be disbarred. We the People are asking the American Bar Association to look into the misconduct of this member. He has LIED, committed perjury before the entire world and has shamed the Bar association with his lies and deceit. He is serving ONE MASTER, instead of We The People of these United States , When the Founding Fathers decided to separate from the King of England the first thing that they wrote was We hold these truths to be self-evident, that ALL MEN ARE CREATED EQUAL, Yet Mr. Barr would put the current President ABOVE THE LAW, like a King OR Dictator. He does not mind lying, ignoring subpoenas from the oversight committee and determining that he "Has the right to NOT SHOW UP"--This man is a threat to the Constitution and MUST be disbarred as the only way to rid the country of this scourge who sees himself as the "Protector" of the next King of America. He has sworn an oath to "Protect, Preserve and Defend"-yet-the only one he does it for is this President--It is imperative to the continuation of this country as we know it that this man be dis-barred immediately--The fate of these United States is in peril, and he MUST be stopped Thank you for your attention to this matter---Signed, WE THE PEOPLE.
