Recall Dev DavisDev Davis has failed the Willow Glen community in proposing and continuing to promote the use of residential land in Willow Glen for the homeless encampment. She has failed to lead and support our community previously in times of crime waves. Dev Davis is not the leader we need to protect and serve District 6.24 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Daniel Ortiz

Students and Communities Against Oregon House Bill 3338As a student of the University of Oregon, I believe the only way to keep our campus safe is to keep our campus police armed. Chief Carmichael and the rest of UOPD are genuinely concerned about student safety, and this bill would inhibit them from quick action regarding emergency situations. If HB3338 passes, not only will students be subject to a lesser degree of safety, but the officers will be unable to properly defend themselves and faculty as well. Please help us by signing this petition to discourage the Oregon House of Representatives from passing HB3338.65 of 100 SignaturesCreated by McKenna Sjoden

Support California Values Act as State-Wide LegislationThe California Values Act prohibits state and local resources from being used for mass deportation. Now more than ever, California leaders need to know that we have their backs as they continue to build statewide opposition against the Trump administration's broadened deportation orders.203 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Iona Normandi

Ag-Gag Laws: Unconstitutional and Unconscionable!Iowa ranks with the bottom five US states when it comes to animal protection laws. While we recognize that farm animals are raised to provide food for us, this doesn't mean livestock should have to endure cruel and inhumane treatment. There are 25 states that have ag-gag laws, Iowa's was recently found by US Federal Court to be unconstitutional. These laws keep potentially brutal, animal-related businesses, such as puppy mills, from being discovered and stopped. Ag-gag laws are economically driven and for the most part serve to protect those who have no conscience when breaking any animal cruelty laws that do exist!140 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Jeanine Redlinger

Ask City Reps to Protect Neighborhoods from Industrial BlightWhy us? Why is another historic neighborhood — this time North Riverside — being asked to tolerate a macro tower when small-cell technology is available and in use in newer and more affluent neighborhoods in Wichita and across the country? North Riverside is still listed by the city as a visually sensitive area where towers should be restricted. If this one tower is permitted, competitors will have legal standing to apply for additional towers in inappropriate neighborhood settings. It's unnecessary. In late 2018, USD-259 upgraded their wireless services for students at North High and John Marshall Middle School relieving the neighborhood’s wireless load. Steel in the Air Consulting, one of America's premier consulting firms, stated, “They [service providers] can just as easily add multiple small cells and avoid costly macro towers.” This needs to be stopped. All neighborhoods are in jeopardy if this is allowed. There is no reason for towers inside neighborhoods and nothing in any law that says we have to accept unsightly towers and suffer losses to our property values.166 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Madeline McCullough

Stop Deportation of Liberian DED HoldersLiberians were granted Temporary Protective Status (TPS) in 1990 during the 14-year civil war in Liberia. Many have been in the United States since then: raising their children here, working, attending school and more. Many who came here as young children have not returned to Liberia in 30 years. After a 14-year civil war and Ebola, Liberia faces extreme poverty with a troubled healthcare system and very limited employment opportunities. These Liberians will be forced to return to a Country without the infrastructure to sustain them. Congress must pass H.R. 6 to ensure the extension of status of Liberians and the President should extend the status of the Liberians to prevent deportation.19,813 of 20,000 SignaturesCreated by Wala Blegay

No Homework for Elementary StudentsResearch indicates that homework does not benefit students as much as believed. What does benefit students is reading at least 20 minutes each evening with family members. Free up our children to move their bodies, be with friends and family, and rest their minds after school.15 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Julie Meslin

Make Medicare negotiate prescription drug pricesWe keep seeing articles about high prescription drug prices in the US and how once again some pharma company has tripled the price of a life-saving medicine. If you look a little closer, we see these are patented medicines (no generics available) and very few people do or have to pay that full price... unless their coverage is through Medicare part D. AFTER my private insurance has kicked in, my share of the cost of my anti-coagulant medicine would be $395 for 3 months... UNLESS I affirm to the drug manufacturer that I am not on and am not eligible for Medicare coverage. Once I do that (and re-affirm every year), my co-pay for a 3 month supply is $30.1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by R. Andrew Thomas

Menstrual ProductsAs students, faculty, and staff, we believe that we should be provided with free menstrual products at Chabot as we are majority low income students. Menstrual products are a basic need and we should not be met with the challenge to suffer through school without menstrual products or having to miss school due to having a menstrual cycle. We created this form to call attention to this basic need and make change in order to continue our education at Chabot without the concerning ourselves with having to choose between buy pads instead of a meal, missing school, or using toilet paper in place of menstrual products, etc.81 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Stephanie Contreras

Save compassionate cannabis!THE SWEETLEAF COLLECTIVE NEEDS YOUR HELP Since 1996 the cannabis compassion program, Sweetleaf Collective, has provided free medical marijuana to low-income terminally ill patients in the Bay Area. With California’s new cannabis regulations, as of January 1st, 2018, The Sweetleaf Collective is no longer allowed to provide free medical cannabis to more than 150 terminally ill patients in the Bay Area. These patients do not have any other access to this life saving medicine. We are concerned because with their sensitive conditions, HIV/AIDS and cancer, some of them have died because they no longer have access to free cannabis. Sweetleaf is bringing together other compassion projects, cannabis farmers, dispensaries, and consumers to pass SB 34. This bill, when it becomes law, will eliminate all taxes on compassionate cannabis. A similar bill last year passed through California’s Assembly and Senate with a yes vote of nearly 90% only to be vetoed by the governor. We must pass it this year. Governor Newsom needs to sign this bill into law. “I don't think Jerry Brown thought when he signed that veto, that he was signing peoples' death sentences,” said Joe Airone, founder of the Sweet Leaf Collective in San Francisco. “Some of our patients now have to make a horrible decision: Do I buy cannabis or do I buy food?” Over 50 compassion programs that serve more than 10,000 Californians have been negatively affected by this change in the law. We are asking that you do three simple things: * first, please sign this petition to show your support for creating regulations for compassion programs, * secondly, tell our Governor that California needs to allow cannabis compassion programs to operate: California’s Governor Gavin Newsom Phone number: (916) 445-2841 * finally, and most importantly, share it via your social networks. California needs to create regulations for cannabis compassion programs so seriously ill patients can receive free cannabis. Thanks for supporting compassion. Together we can save lives. MGRS District Turnover ConcernsThis petition is to request that the Mount Greylock School Committee take immediate steps to effectively exercise its mandated supervisory role in evaluating and addressing the turnover of union and non-union personnel experienced at the district and school level since the current Superintendent was promoted to Assistant Superintendent in July of 2016. It cannot be that the School Committee views such turnover as routine, let alone indicative of effective and appropriate top-level leadership. We are concerned about the impact on our school community. Background: The list of non-union positions “vacated” includes - Custodial Supervisor at Lanesborough Elementary (Administrative Leave) - Administrative Assistant Lanesborough Elementary School - Principal Lanesborough Elementary School - Cafeteria Manager Mount Greylock - Maintenance/Facilities Director (out on leave) (District) - Interim Director of Pupil Services - Director of Pupil Services (out on leave) (District) - Compliance Monitoring Assistant/Pupil Services Coordinator (now "Team Leader") (District) - Bookkeeper/Business Assistant (District/Central Office) - Treasurer (District/Central Office) - Office Assistant (District/Central Office) - Administrative Assistant/HR Specialist (District/Central Office) - Administrative Assistant to Superintendent/HR (District/Central Office) - Business Manager (District/Central Office - Superintendent (District/Central Office) Please this in not a place for comments about anyones children or families.
