Bernie Sanders: Reduce Immigration Enforcement Funding for FY 2020I urge you to reduce funding for the administration’s wasteful and abusive immigration enforcement activities and to provide oversight over the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), whose unchecked practices have led to abuse and mistreatment of families and children in holding cells and and death due to inadequate medical care.94 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Sylvia Bonaparte

Families Belong TogetherWe as citizens of conscience are appalled and sickened by the deplorable and despicable actions of this administration towards the refugee children and their families. It is well documented that the human brain keeping development until we reach the age of 21 and traumatic events impair the brain’s functioning and can lead to permanent brain damage with high incidences of life ling depression and anxiety. There is nothing more traumatic than a child being separated from its parents. Children are being kept in cages, there are multiple reports of sexual abuse (178 confirmed cases perpetrated by staff, 1,303 of peer on peer) and physical abuse compounding the trauma of being separated from their parents. Children are missing out on critical developmental opportunities for education and socialization. Over 1,500 of the separated children are lost, this administration that separated the children from their families has no idea where these children are. This administration was warned by experts in the field of childhood development that this policy of separating children from their families would cause great and irreparable harm to the children and yet this administration chose to promulgate this policy as a deterrent because of the harm it would cause. This is the very definition of evil. We the undersigned, citizens in the United States of America, implore our government to do everything in its power to: halt the separation of refugee children from any family member when they ask for asylum at our borders; immediately reunite children currently being held in what amount to concentration camps with their families; investigate all allegations of abuse on behalf of the children being held in said camps and detention centers and hold those accountable to the letter of the law and; make preparations to ensure citizen oversight of the camps and detention centers immediately.225 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Linda LeTendre

Rename Chrystie Street in NYC for Someone who Actually MatteredChrystie Street was named after John Chrystie, who was a lieutenant in the Battle of Queenston Heights. After crossing enemy lines that were secured by other American troops, he and his crew panicked, and fled back over the US border, stranding the leftover American troops to surrender. Although he left his own troops to be captured, he was promoted to Colonel, and had a street named after him. Margot Gayle was an activist and preservationist that besides living there, was very active in the SoHo area. In the years 1970 to 1971, Gayle created the The Friends of Cast-Iron Architecture, in order to stop Robert Moses’s plan to create an expressway that would connect to I-78, and in the process, utterly destroy most of SoHo, including Chrystie St. If you live or visit NYC, you can see that she succeeded, leaving a beautiful part of the city still intact. John Chrystie did nothing for America, let alone NYC, so let’s commemorate someone who actually mattered to this city.21 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Alejandro

Subaru: Please stop advertising on Fox “News”.I own a Subaru, as do many people here in the Northwest. I would think most Subaru owners do not agree with the types of stories, speculations and fear-mongering that is seen on the Fox network. Where we spend our dollars is just as important as how we vote. Most Subaru owners are extremely loyal, but this is the kind of issue that changes people’s minds. I hope they will change their position, and quickly.617 of 800 SignaturesCreated by Sandra Vaughn

U.S. Leaders: time to fully fund Ecosystem Restoration nationwideThis initiative should activate bipartisan support both in Congress and in all 50 states. As the lawsuit Juliana Vs United States is on the cusp of its opening trial, in June 2019, all efforts should be moving forward to provide a livable planet for the 21 plaintiffs, age 11 through 22, and their generation. See https://www.ourchildrenstrust.org for details on this lawsuit that provides a legal underpinning for the green new deal. Leading U.S. climate scientist James Hansen calls for this action as well. It provides a unifying effort worldwide, to draw down carbon out of the atmosphere, putting it back where it belongs - back in the ground. This action would begin the necessary action to begin cooling our stressed planet, and all stressed living forms on it. Clearly, action is still necessary to ensure fossil fuel (including pesticides) does not continue to add to the dangerous levels already in the atmosphere, which have now hit 413 parts per million of atmospheric carbon. World climate scientists agree that getting back to 350 parts per million of atmospheric carbon would stabilize our planet (where we were in 1990), ensuring it is a livable one. U.S. leaders: We need your boldness now on this urgent issue. UPDATE: Oct 7, 2019 was declared HALF EARTH DAY 2019, by the E.O. Wilson Foundation, which is acting on similar efforts that the UN initiative is challenging world governments to act on. Here is the website to see more details of this HALF EARTH effort - https://half-earthproject.org45 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Priscilla Rich

Ice cream trucks in RotterdamIce cream trucks were banned from Rotterdam years ago when a young girl was hit and killed by one. This was a very unfortunate accident however it should not have led to ice cream trucks being banned. They are still allowed in other areas all around the country. This accident could’ve happened anywhere. Therefore, they cannot just ban ice cream trucks in Rotterdam and no where else. A child could also have been hit by a car and killed, it doesn’t have to be an ice cream truck. And you can’t just ban cars from a town everytime someone is hit by one. Parents should also teach their children when they hear the ice cream truck not to run out in the middle of the road. They can simply stand outside the door to their house and the ice cream truck will see them and stop. As previously stated, ice cream trucks still exist in other areas, including ones right outside of Rotterdam. Therefore, we the people of Rotterdam think it’s time we bring ice cream trucks back to our town.178 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Veronica

Family supportMy husband(Gary Hurley 208595)is incarcerated in Tennessee. I haven't been able to visit him in a year because he is 400 miles away from me. This has been devastating to me because my father and other family members recently passed away. To see my husband (of 37 yrs.) would help us both. Other family members also would love to visit with him. Please consider the benefits for families and society as a whole by lessening the distance between the incarcerated and their families whenever possible.57 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Stella Hurley

Time to end U.S. warsIn order to work toward world cooperation and invest in human needs to solve pressing problems like climate change and humanitarian crises, it's time to commit to ending U.S. wars. Since 2001, the war authorization has been used for military endeavors in dozens of countries, in the Middle East, Africa, Central and South Asia. After over 17 years of war and trillions of dollars spent, it's time to end the Forever War by repealing the 2001 Authorization for Use of Military Force and holding the perpetrators of war crimes accountable.513 of 600 SignaturesCreated by Iram Ali
