It is possible to write a reasonable healthcare bill! We just need a different set of people to do it. Privileged white males are only one sector of society, and the public has soundly rejected their ideas (Trumpcare). Our next attempt at fixing healthcare must include women and minorities. Any future national healthcare legislation should be written by a truly representative group. That means an equal number of women and men, along with representatives of minority groups in terms of race, class, sexual orientation, religious affiliation, and rural/urban location. And we must have public hearings on any proposal!

Our country is divided by extremism. It is time to stop the madness and find a way to give a truer representation of social and political hopes and expectations of most Americans.

Critical Mass in Berkeley; overpopulation, in general, is nothing new, but there is a genuine lack of green space in Berkeley. House the homeless and the poor and the schizophrenic. Keep the park for the People. The Park is relative to civil rights and free speech. 2019 will mark the 50th anniversary of People's Park and it would be a horrific shame on the community if the park would be destroyed simply for the sake of student housing, which can be built anywhere. UCB used eminent domain illegally to displace the original neighborhood and, lacking funds to create yet another student housing unit, created the blight in the first place. The park was an attempt by the community to create something beautiful. The UCB and, frankly, the City of Berkeley, have done everything in their power to destroy the park. Given the associated civil rights and free speech background linked to People's Park, the actions of UCB and The City of Berkeley seem determinedly fascist.

We the residents of Roslindale, MA along with Dorchester, Roxbury and Jamaica Plain are victims of MassPort's bungling and the FAA's indifference to our plight. Airlines do not want to climb over the water because it uses more fuel yet climbing over residential areas starting at 5 am is perfectly acceptable as it doesn't cut into profits even though it negatively affects the quality of life for residents.

South Korean authorities' action to prevent Juyeon Rhee from entering South Korea is deeply disappointing in light of President Moon Jae-in's pledges to seek peaceful and negotiated resolutions to longstanding conflicts and to recommit South Korea to open dialogue and respect for democratic processes. Juyeon Rhee has demonstrated a life-long commitment to the desire of all Koreans for a peaceful resolution to decades of conflict. Urge President Moon Jae-in to immediately lift the travel ban imposed on Juyeon Rhee by signing our petition.

We the undersigned hereby are requesting your assistance in the investigation of Wyoming Correctional Facility in Attica, NY. We all have loved ones that are incarcerated at Wyoming Correctional Facility. (Sons, fathers, grandfathers, husbands, uncles, nephews and brothers) Upon our arrival at the facility, whether it’s by the bus, cab or by private vehicles, we are forced to stand outside in inclement weather. (Rain, hail, sleet and snow). The bus comes from New York City and usually drops us off anywhere between 5:45 & 6:45 AM. The facility does not open the Hospitality doors sometimes until 8 AM. The reason for our early arrival is because of the 2 to 4 hours that it takes to be processed and get into the facility. If we don’t make it there early there is a chance that we may not see our loved ones. Some of us travel up to 18 hours to and from in order to see our loved ones. With the new facial recognition our photos are taken sometimes 5, 6, 7 times. On Saturday, July 8, 2017, the weather in Attica, NY was heavy rain with thunder and lightning. According to the National Weather Service if a thunderstorm is approaching or nearby, the advice is to take caution and move inside. It is not safe to be outside. Each year thunderstorms produce an estimated 20 to 25 million clouds to ground lightning flashes in the U.S. Each one of these flashes is a potential killer. Some of these flashes strike directly under the storm where it is raining, but some of the flashes reach out away from the storm where people perceive the lightning threat to be low or nonexistent, therefore catching people by surprise. Based on cases documented by the National Weather Service in recent years, about 30 people are killed by lightning each year and hundreds more are injured, some suffering devastating neurological injuries that persist for the rest of their lives. About 2/3 of the deaths are associated with outdoor activities. In general, a significant lightning threat extends outward from the base of a thunderstorm cloud about 6-10 miles. There is no place outside that is safe when a thunderstorm is in the area; therefore we are requesting that you implement Wyoming Correctional Facility to open its Hospitality Building, especially for the bus and cab riders. Of us who ride the bus or cab, we have no shelter once dropped off. There are babies, elderly men and women out in the weather. On July 20th a tornado hit Hamburg, NY. We stand united in hopes that you would provide a solution to this unsafe practice that Wyoming Correctional Facility is doing since it is the only facility that has such a dangerous practice of leaving people out in the inclement weather.

Trump put a loyalist, Matthew Whitaker, in charge of the Justice Department and oversight of Mueller's work. Trump has attacked the Department of Justice and FBI a number of times. The American people deserve the truth. Michael Flynn, Trump's former national security adviser, is guilty. Paul Manafort, Trump's former campaign chairman, is guilty. Rick Gates, Trump's former campaign aide, is guilty. George Papadopoulos, Trump's former foreign policy adviser, is guilty. Michael Cohen, Trump's personal fixer and lawyer, is guilty. Russian intelligence officers and companies were indicted for nefarious activity during the 2016 election. We cannot allow Donald Trump to hide the truth and derail the investigation. Tell your members of Congress to protect the Mueller investigation.
