Diamond Pass for "Super-Seniors"*As a physician & psychiatrist, I am keenly aware of the marriage bonds between the mental, emotional and the physical. Increased longevity is enhanced not only by advances in medical procedures but also by alleviation fiscal uncertainty associated with advancing age. Also, the recognition process for super seniors will offer a positive chronological target for all of us. This measure would provide a first in law & practice.10 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Dr. Frederick J. Curlin

Human Rights in Tompkins CountyWith a Local Law in place, people affected by discrimination would not have to go through the ineffective State Human Rights Dept. process to resolve their issues but would be able to resolve them with the assistance of the local Office of Human Rights.144 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Roberta Wallitt

Swearing Crackdown at Forest Hills DiamondsI'm starting this petition because it punishes innocuous missteps and grants further power to umpires who are looking to be outraged. This new rule is needlessly prohibitive and makes Forest Hills Diamonds a less desirable place to play softball.15 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Haley Vincent

Steve King Must Delete His Tweet Elevating A Self-Described Nazi SympathizerEarlier this month Rep. Steve King retweeted a message from a self-described Nazi sympathizer who has expressed admiration for Adolf Hitler in the past. King retweeted the neo-Nazi and added a comment saying, "Europe is waking up...Will America...in time?" Since then, elected officials, political leaders, and his own constituents have demanded that Steve King apologize and delete the tweet. But King told CNN he wasn't sorry for unintentionally sharing the tweet and pointedly refused to delete the message. Asked why he wouldn't delete a message from someone who has praised Nazi Germany, King said: "Because then it'd be like I'm admitting that I did something, now I'm sorry about it. I'm not sorry. I'm human." But Steve King was wrong to use his status as an elected official to elevate a Nazi sympathizer. It's absolutely shocking that he's refusing to apologize. Rep. Steve King should admit he's wrong and delete the tweet immediately.86 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Matt Hildreth

Removal of the Confederate Flag and all its memorial components! On April 6, 2017, The Sons of Confederate Veterans (SCV) and with most Holly Hill residents the town hall as ever seen, gathered for a town hall meeting. At the meeting, Holly Hill residents, pastors, teachers, etc, gathered to express their disapproval of the placement of the SCV’s Confederate Flag and memorial components. Ronald “Irvin” Shuler of Providence, SC donated the land to the SCV. Although he’s not a resident of Holly Hill, he has friends/associates located in Holly Hill; meaning he’s familiar with the town’s high population of African American residents. Despite the disapproval from the towns residents and leaders, Jamie Graham (Commander) and the 7th, 8th and 10th Brigades of the SCV erected the Confederate Flag and other memorial components on June 16, 2018. Days later, June 21, 2018, the sign was vandalized. If the Confederate Flag and all of its memorial components remain in Holly Hill, SC, our once small peaceful town will increase in violence and racial tensions amongst Africans Americans and White residents in Holly Hill, SC. This flag was placed in Holly Hill, SC without thought or care about the quite obvious tension it would cause because of its history. Although small, a peaceful march to remove the flag started the morning of June 23, 2018. Three African American women were verbally assulted by white men. If this Confederate Flag and all of its memorial components are not removed from the town of Holly Hill, racial divide, racial tension, violence and crime will increase. The town of Holly Hill is also the home of 2 of our Orangeburg Consolidated School District 3 schools; Holly Hill Elementary (located feet away from the SCV flag and memorial site) and Holly Hill Middle School. Its also the home of Holly Hill Academy (located less than 5 miles away from the SCV flag and memorial site). If violence were to break out in our small town, our youth will be the first ones affected. We’ve seen the violence that took place in Columbia, SC with the removal of the Confederate Flag. Just imagine that level of violence happening in our small town and so close to our youth. To our Mayor, William Johnson and Holly Hill Town Council, our State House and Senate Representatives and our Governor, Henry McMaster. The residents of Holly Hill, SC need your help in removing the Confederate Flag and all of its memorial components.503 of 600 SignaturesCreated by Sharita Mazyck

ANTI RACISM PLEDGE!Hi! My name is Thomas Freedman. Throughout my entire life, I have been someone who has always hated racism. In todays culture, I believe that the use of the "N" word is something that should not be done. One night while at university, a visitor from out of the country was visiting my school, BYU. He knew English, and used the "N" word quite frequently. My roommate and I told him that the word should not be used, but he ignored our advice. Because I thought it was hysterically incorrect for someone to use this word, I took a video of him saying the word and was laughing in the video due to his ignorance pertaining to such an important and sensitive issue. I decided to post the video to Instagram with a caption stating "Swiss people have no idea what its like to live in America", basically stating his ignorance. After a few minutes of having the video up on a private Instagram account which my closest friends followed, I deleted the video due to the fact that addressing such a sensitive issue no matter your stance is something that should not be done. Months later, the video popped up on twitter without the caption, and was made to be seen as something as racist as possible. No one understood the context, and even I, someone who hates racism, was seen as a racist. It made me sick. Because of this experience, I have gained an even deeper hate for any use of the word, no matter the context. I have realized that if we want to end racism, we need to stop using the words, symbols, and signs affiliated with it. Just like the confederate flag or statues of civil war "heroes", the "N" word is something with a history that is discriminatory towards the African American race. Because of this experience and the growing hate that I have towards the word and racism in general, I would like to start a pledge. A pledge that if one signs, they promise to never be an advocate for the word, no matter the circumstance. I want to make a change. We need to all love each other!5 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Thomas Freedman

Tell the UMC to support GLIDE Memorial ChurchGLIDE serves thousands of people in the San Francisco Area. They go to the margins and serve people who often have no other place of refuge. Their Church is one of the most diverse and celebrated in the world. The UMC's decision to strip GLIDE of a pastoral team indefinitely threatens to impact the incredible work, mission, and message of the GLIDE Church and Foundation and is harmful and counterproductive to the UMC. Stand with GLIDE!784 of 800 SignaturesCreated by Emily Cohen

Support Children's RightsThe citizens of the United States have been adversely affected by the Senate's failure to ratify the CRC. Our tax dollars and energy have been spent on fighting the unfair treatment of children domestically and internationally. Children are denied protection in war, asylum, education, justice and family matters in our name. It is time to ratify the CRC and hold the U.S. accountable to the same standards as other United Nations member states.506 of 600 SignaturesCreated by Dena Jennings

Stop Segregated BusingPlease help us stop segregated busing of students in Lakewood. The Lakewood Board of Education funding is funding busing of 40,000 students on buses and to schools that are segregated by both sex and religion which is strictly forbidden by the State of New Jersey Constitution. The public schools are failing because they receive less money than what is paid for the segregated busing to segregated schools..18 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Craig Radhuber
