Recognize the Lynched Black Women in GeorgiaBetween 1880 and 1946, twelve black women in Georgia were either lynched, shot, or burned alive for crimes they didn't commit. These "crimes" range from simply knowing about a murder to having grievances about the lynching of another person. We encourage you to sign the petition to erect a memorial in honor of these innocent lives lost to the barbaric agenda of racism because they should not be forgotten in our history. Georgia is a state that should be conscientious of our mistakes and should seek to reflect on these instances and rectify the pain of the past.7 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Kayleigh Heard

Drug Treatment for Tooele County ResidentsI'm starting this petition because I feel that it is very important for anybody that is plagued by drug addiction to have options if they choose to be sober. At this point in time, Tooele County has very few resources when it comes to rehabilitation. I am wanting to see an inpatient facility that helps addicts without having to have a court order. Recovery needs to be a choice and rehabilitation needs to be readily available and within reach of these people. I would also like to see a detox intake option also. It is very important that addicts who struggle to find help have options and hope to recover from their addictions. There are no centers in the surrounding areas that offer any options for Tooele county residents.288 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Rachelle Busico

Fight corruption in Puerto Rican politicsDue process and civil rights are being brashly violated by the crushing pressure from Congress to have the citizenship pay for a debt they had no foreknowledge about, while those responsible and gained personal profits from that debt are getting an ‘out-of-jail-free’ card. Only a thorough in-depth investigation by a federal Grand Jury can assure the American citizens living in Puerto Rico that the sacrifices being imposed by the governmental entities are fair and equitable.67 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Jose (Pepe) Orraca-Brnadenberger

Put the rights of children above the rights of parentsChildren who are thriving in the long-term care of guardians are being returned to biological parents after years of absence simply because the courts are required to consider the rights of the parents, even when it is clearly detrimental to the child. The right of the child to a loving, happy, healthy environment should supersede the rights of all others.106 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Karin Knudson

Govenor Nathon Deal: I am asking you to drop the Senate bill 375Listen to the people of Georgia! The LGBT community should be treated equally and this bill is discriminating and hateful. All these people want is to have the American dream... get married, buy a house, and have a family. Why should you be the one to deprive them of that??9 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Amanda Dasher

Stand UPI am starting this petition on behalf of my fellow University of Portland community members who were deeply disturbed by the events that took place at this years Wally Awards. The events that took place mean that we as a University have created an environment in which an individual felt comfortable delivering offensive messages that blatantly perpetuate a culture of objectifying women and disregarding sexual assault. Additionally, the lack of a timely and appropriate response by our administration is very concerning. This time should be used to bring this very prevalent issue into the forefront of our attention. It is time for a large scale open conversation about sexual assault and gender dynamics at this University and an equally large response on how our administration intends to act to prevent anything like this from happening again in the future.91 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Maggie Loft

Tell Pam Bondi to Support Restoration of Voting RightsFloridians who have served their prison sentence and completed the terms of their probation should not be forever barred from participating in our democracy again. This is not a partisan issue, but a matter of right and wrong. It is time we allow those who have done everything the court required of them to vote and participate in our democracy.150 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Ryan Torrens

Grandparents Raising GrandchildrenThere are over 2.5 million grandparents raising their grandchildren due to substance abuse, death, mental health issues, or abuse/neglect. There are over 1 million children nationally who have their grandparents as their sole caregivers. Many of these children have physical and/or emotional needs due to the treatment they received before living with their grandparents. These grandparents save the government over $6 billion each year by supporting the children and keeping them out of foster care while over 21% of these grandparents live below the poverty line. These grandparents NEED resources and financial assistance to care for their grandchildren while dealing with age-related issues such as health, living on a fixed income, and raising at-risk grandchildren.15 of 100 SignaturesCreated by M artina Sternberg
