• Putative Father's Rights
My daughter was placed and approved for adoption in Benton County last week. This was against my wishes. The judge and all parties involved acknowledged me as the biological father. I signed the putative father registry prior to the filing of the petition for adoption and prior to the birth of my daughter, but this did not ensure my rights as the father. The adoption agency involved assisted the mother in hiding the pregnancy, as did the adopting party. The adoption agency brags on its website that adoptions in Arkansas are much easier and only take six days to finalize as opposed to sixty or ninety days in most states.

  • 50th Anniversary of Selma, AL Student Civil Rights Marches
In 50 years the student leaders and participating students that led the way in the Civil Rights Movement of 1963-65 have gone unrecognized. This commemorative event will be the first acknowledgment of the pivotal role played by these 1,000 students in bringing the full reality of freedom to all Americans.

  • Dear Mr President: Help stop gay genocide in Uganda!
In Uganda, Africa, the new anti gay law not only penalizes homosexual activities also criminalizes being homosexual. Young men are forced out of their homes and beaten. There are reports of some being stoned to death or burned alive by mobs. Medical services are denied to those having HIV or any other medical condition if they are supposed to be gay, even doctors are forced to report gays to authorities and then are sent to jail. Neighbors are encouraged to denounce gays in their neighborhood as if they were criminals, and report to authorities to be put flogged and put in jail for years in inhumane conditions. The terror is widespread and incensed by a hate and homophobic rhetoric in the Government and by extremists and religious zealots. The horror living men and women in Uganda is similar to those lived by Jews in Nazi Germany. This is not a gay issue is a humanitarian issue! A human rights and right to live issue!

  • Protect and Uphold the Right to Religious Freedom
In 2010, a Waupaca County Courthouse judge signed an order requiring Susan Reed requiring her to raise her children in a Christian home. Susan Reed and her two children are Muslim and have been forced to practice their beliefs in secret. This is a violation of her and her children's First Amendment rights.

  • Senate Bill 2566
This bill is a dangerous step toward increased prejudice and potential violence against a small percentage of our citizens. As sponsor, you would be as responsible as the aggressor in a violent confrontation because you are encouraging discrimination in our state. Tennessee does not need more discrimination; we need less! I hope you will consider the potential consequences of such an action and in good conscience, drop your support of Bill 2566.

  • To be delivered to The Alabama State House, The Alabama State Senate, and Governor Robert Bentley...
In the state of Alabama, a 14 year old child can legally make decisions about their mental and physical health. At that point, the parent's hands are tied. However, the parent is still financially responsible for the child's bills and care. Even when the child gets in trouble at age 14, the parent is still held accountable for the child's actions. That is why the age 14 needs to change to the age of majority (19). Please sign this petition for Alabama's Concerned Parents. Thank you in advance. That's why I created a petition to The Alabama State House, The Alabama State Senate, and Governor Robert Bentley, which says: "Kids at age 14 are just that still kids, so they should not be allowed to make decisions about their mental health or physical health. • Protect Ohio Voters
The Ohio General Assembly is considering two bills aimed at making voting more difficult. Together, these two bills, SB 205 and SB 238, would restrict voting times and could delay early voting by absentee ballots. I'm starting this petition because it is not right to suppress voting, make it more inconvenient for voters to get to the polls. It feels like cheating and we don't need more cheats in public office!

  • Federal Action in Response to Unconsitutional Kansas Anti-Gay Segregation Bill
The segregation and discrimination against people of the L/G/B/T/Q community is an atrocious violation of these peoples rights under the Constitution and the Civil Rights Act of 1964. These types of laws are unconstitutional and cannot be allowed to exist in our country. We demand a response to this unconstitutional law by the federal government of the United States of America.

  • Stop Voter Suppression in Ohio
Voting rights are under attack in Ohio. Again! Three new bills that are about to be voted on in the state House would once again make voting in Ohio harder and could jeopardize the 2014 election. SB 205 would ban county clerks from sending out absentee ballot applications themselves, instead reserving that right only to Secretary of State Jon Husted. SB 238 would shorten early voting and end Ohio's "Golden Week" during which voters can both register to vote and cast an early ballot SB 216 would make it harder to cast provisional ballots Together, these bills could prevent tens of thousands of Ohioan from participating in elections. This attempt at voter suppression is wrong. Fair and free elections are the bedrock of our democracy and these bills, aimed at making participation harder, have no place in Ohio. State legislators should stand up for democracy and vote NO on these three bills.
