Rep Steve King compared immigrants to dogs and said that they should have taken that as a compliment. I am not okay with this. People are people no matter skin color or anything else. He should apologize!! NO EXCUSE

The new voter registration legislation designed to "eliminate voter fraud" is a sham. Low income and elderly citizens who typically vote democrat are being excluded from the polls thanks to this discriminatory legislation. We must not let this happen.

Long lines have required voters to wait hours to vote in past presidential elections. New restrictions on early voting will mean a return to long lines. Voters in every precinct who are willing to wait hours in line should receive free coffee, tea, or water to make their wait easier, and recognize that every vote counts.

The state should sue or prosecute these institutions for fraud, using RICO and all other crimes committed which allowed the taking and devaluation of homes and property These would include the illegal use of electronic transfers of title used by the banks. These transfers should be clarified by the governor and the secretary of state. These transfers violate the laws of contracts and real estate on the face of those laws. These are direct violations of "illegal taking"

State election supervisors can not be biassed toward, or actively working for, a particular candidate, and fairly oversee election law. In recent years, even the pretense of objectivity has been ignored. States must enact non-partisan election boards to oversee elections and eliminate gerrymandering.

The Electoral College violates the principle of one person, one vote and should be eliminated. It was put into the Constitution as a compromise between electing a president by a vote of Congress or by a vote of citizens. It gives voters of more populated states a smaller say in an election than voters in smaller states. Thus a president can be elected even if he or she loses the popular vote, as happened in 2000 (Bush vs. Gore). This is clearly undemocratic and should be ended.

WHILE OUR SOLDIERS ARE AWAY FROM HOME FIGHTING FOR THE RIGHT TO VOTE FOR PEOPLE THEY DO NOT KNOW, HERE IN THE USA THE RIGHT TO VOTE IS BEING TAKEN AWAY FROM THE PARENTS WHO BORE THE SOLDIERS. THIS IS REPREHENSIBLE. STOP THE CHANGE TO THE VOTING RIGHTS ACT.

I miss Trader Joe's. They've got great prices for great food, but what they don't have is health benefits for employees' domestic partners or other "soft" benefits such as bereavement leave. Shocked? The Republican party has captured the myth laden ideas of "freedom" and "religion" and uses them, with great success, as propaganda to further their corporate agenda. They imply that it is patriotic, and in the service of freedom, to have a closer union of church and state. The founders would be appalled; they recognized that the separation of church and state was necessary for religious freedom. The radical union of church and state proposed by the religious right is a threat to both religion and to freedom.

Since the mid-1930's possession or growth of marijuana has been a federal crime. It was born out of racism since, at the time, it's use was mainly among blacks. Over the years, various methods have been used by the federal government to enforce this "crime." With the advent on the "War on Drugs," it has truly become a war. People including women and children are being murdered daily and dumped in the streets of the Mexican border towns. Billions of taxpayer dollars have been used to enforce the drug wars with no tangible success. And despite the fact that at least ten states have legalized marijuana for various uses, the federal government continues to prosecute those caught with even small amounts of the substance.This has made the U.S. the nation with the highest number of prisoners incarcerated of any country in the world for drug offences.
