  • Presidential Candidates Should Debate DC Rights in DC!
D.C. rights, including the right to federal representation, control over our own budget, etc, is a huge issue missing from the Presidential debate and narrative of the elections. We need someone in the White House who represents ALL Americans, including those of us living in the Capital! The Presidential candidates should discuss this issue in a public forum.

  • Jim DeMint: Apologize for comparing Chicago teachers to "thugs in the Middle East"
Senator Jim DeMint of my home state of SC seems to think that hard working teachers in Chicago are acting like "thugs in the Middle East" when they stand up for their rights. As one of his constituents, I demand he apologize to the people who dedicate themselves to educating the next generation of Americans.

  • Second round of voter purge in Florida
The first round of voter purging wrongly informed hundreds of legal voters in Florida that they were ineligible to vote. Governor Rick Scott seems to be planning a second round. Can you sign our petition that lets Governor Scott and Secretary of State Ken Detzner know that Floridans are against any measures that would prevent eligible voters from voting?

  • voter disenfranchisement
Make you voice heard! Disenfranchising voters on the pretense of stopping voter fraud is just another way of "fixing" the election. They can spend their $billions, BUT they must stop YOU from voting to get the Whitehouse and the Senate. Write to your representatives at the State level and let them know there will be serious consequences if they don't oppose this fraud.

  • "Tommy Thompson: Fire the Hateful Staffer who Homophobically Attacked Baldwin!"
The political director for Tommy Thompson's Senatorial campaign sent out an email to right-wing blogs designed to spark a blaze of hatred towards Democratic rival Tammy Baldwin. The centerpiece of the email was a video clip of Baldwin dancing at a gay pride event, clearly meant to incite homophobic hate.

  • Legalize Marijuana
I truly believe in the Legalization of Marijuana. I have been affected personally by being arrested in my younger days, and I have been denied employment because I refused to take a drug screen. I believe that drug-testing violates my Constitutional protection against unlawful search and seizure.

  • Citizens United: a catastrophe in need of reversal
Democracy in the USA was made a sham by the Citizen's United, the Supreme Court's ruling that allows corporations to make unlimited donations to political campaigns. Corporations are not people! Our public offices should not go to the highest bidder!

  • Stop the Voter ID laws
In critical swing states with Republican governors and election officials, laws are being made to require a voter ID in order to vote in the Presidential election. This is a blatant effort to prevent certain groups of voters from voting, for example house-bound elderly people to whom it would be difficult to get the ID in time, or poor inner-city voters.

  • Mitt Romney needs to tell his cronies to stop cheating to win him the election.
I have noticed the increasing amount of republican lawmakers and who have felt the need to suppress the vote or outright try to make unsubstantiated claims to get President Obama off the ballet. I think this is unamerican and veiled racism. If Mitt is so presidential and worried about the people of this country then he needs to stand up to this fringe of his party.
