I hear that people are tired of traveling out the area, and state. To much time and money is wasted outside of the local community.

  • Don't Let Republicans Steal an Election in Mississippi!
Hester Jackson-McCray made history in November 2019 with her 14-point win over a Republican incumbent. Jackson-McCray will be the first African-American to represent DeSoto County in the Mississippi state legislature and she will be only the third African-American to represent a majority white legislative district since Reconstruction. That history is at risk of being erased thanks to Republican efforts to overturn the election results. Ashley Henley, the GOP incumbent defeated by Jackson-McCray, has made unsubstantiated claims of voter fraud and is asking the Republican-controlled Mississippi House of Representatives to vacate the election results and install her instead. This is straight out of the GOP playbook. Suburban DeSoto county is changing and, like many suburbs around the country, it’s turning more progressive. Hillary Clinton beat Trump there in 2016, Democrat candidate for U.S. Senate, Mike Espy beat Republican Cindy Hyde Smith in 2018, and in 2019 voters chose Democrat Attorney General Jim Hood in the governor's race. Instead of competing fairly, Mississippi Republicans are attempting to overturn the will of the voters in a state with a notorious history of voter suppression. We can’t let them win.

  • Nikki's Wolf Pack Rescue
My dogs are my children, they are my ohana, and they mean the whole world to me. We have formed an unbreakable bond and the pack has not been the same since we were all separated. The Kona Humane Society broke the law, lied to police, and lied to me about my dogs whereabouts. They intentionally tried to keep my dogs from me, despite them being registered as emotional support animals that I have had for the last 13 years of my life. Every day gets harder to live without Keebler, Ayda, and Remedy and we all need to be reunited as soon as possible! Please sign my petition and share it with your friends. • Tell Congress: Release the CIA Torture Report
After 9/11, the CIA detained and tortured — including beating, chaining to the ceiling, locking in coffins, and waterboarding detainees to the brink of death — over 100 Muslim men in “black site” prisons around the world. That period is a stain on human history. While Congress authorized a full investigation, the resulting full, unredacted 7,000-page CIA Torture Report has yet to be released to the public. Until we know the truth, there is no way to achieve full justice for survivors and victims of CIA torture and detention. Worse, there is also no way to make sure it will never happen again. Will you urge your members of Congress to release the unredacted CIA Torture Report to the public now?

  • Speaker Pelosi: Please Start A Discharge Petition For H.R. 4363, For A Vote
Americans living overseas are subject to a separate and substantially more punitive tax code than stateside Americans. This is grossly unfair. Furthermore, the United States government has demonstrated little to no concern about the well-being of its overseas diaspora. As a result, many false narratives from many sources have surfaced that mischaracterize the real situation on the ground. H.R. 4363 should layout what is really going on and set the record straight. It is vitally important Congress act on this legislation to safeguard the lives of millions of Americans abroad from financial ruin.

In Kim's Own Words: "It is not easy for me to discuss my crime because unlike many people in prison, I do not claim to be innocent. The horrible reality I must live with is the fact that on March 29, 1994, I shot and killed two people. One of those people was a man to whom I was engaged. The other was a woman with whom he was also romantically involved. At the time I was 27 years old and he was 59. The other woman was 34. Because I met him in church and thought he was a man of God, I trusted him implicitly and believed everything he told me. When I questioned him about things that seemed odd, he used the Bible to persuade me that he knew best and that my doubt was sinful. At times he had me questioning my sanity. And when the truth finally came out, I confronted him about his lies. Unfortunately, I was not psychologically equipped for such a confrontation and snapped. When investigators questioned the neighbors after the shooting they were told that the neighbors thought I was his niece because the other woman was always at the house during the day. I use to blame him for this but the reality is that it was me and my naivete that caused me to come to prison. Today I recognize that. There are women who are still falling prey to the same issues that fostered the atmosphere for my crime to happen. These things that l learned in prison should be taught in middle schools, churches, after school programs, and rec centers. Learning the information in prison is like closing the barn door after the horse has gotten out." Since her incarceration began in 1994, 25 years ago Kim has had the following accomplishments: Degrees - A.A. in Sociology from Marymount Manhattan College - B.A. in Sociology from Marymount Manhattan College - Currently working toward a Masters degree in Biblical Studies through a correspondence course Certifications - Legal Research - C.P.E. ( Clinical Pastoral Education) - A.C.E. Peer Educator Misc A.V.P. (Alternatives to Violence program) A.R.T. ( Aggression Replacement Training) Discipleship _________________ Upon her release, Kim has been offered a position as a Paralegal at a Law Firm in New York City. She will also assist a mystery writer and will engage in Hazzelle Goodman Ministries
