• Make LIPA (LONG ISLAND POWER AUTHORITY) Accountable NOW!
LIPA is not open communicating to the consumer what is going on....Yes an estimated 200,000 are out of power but this not including WE the people in the designated storm surge area 100,000+. Now LIPA you want to UP your prices. How dare you LIPA. We would like the Local, State and Federal Governments to do their job and step up! Come On Town Supervisors, Governor what are you doing to hold LIPA accountable. They are lying about assessing homes as I have proof of homes not able to be lived in due to flooding not being dried up or cleaned out where LIPA turned power back on

  • Hold LIPA Accountable for Poor Preparedness and Response to Hurricane Sandy
National Grid and Long Island Power Authority’s (LIPA) preparedness and response to Hurricane Sandy have been completely unacceptable. Poor pre-planning has led to over 50 electrical substations going offline and left more than 1 million customers without power. Surely these substations could have been located, built, and/or protected better. Poor response is evident in that initial time frames for repair were given as "7-10 days", and then later bumped to "10-15 days". Over 150,000 customers are still without power a full nine days after the storm. Many are being told, “It could be at least another week”. Calls to customer service provide no estimated repair times for particular addresses, and as of November 7th they are no longer accepting calls. A message just simple says, “Due to the high call volume we cannot assign you a representative. Please try again later.” To boot, LIPA’s text alert system is not functioning as well. The fact that LIPA had to bring in thousands of out of state works also speaks volumes to their level of preparedness. Also, the fact that more than 1,500 non-union workers were turned away is simply appalling. With temperatures dropping and gasoline lines growing, harm that comes to people and their homes now falls on LIPA’s shoulders. For the highest power rates in the country, this is simply unacceptable. Please sign if you agree.

  • Fair Trade coffee
I am a proponent of fair trade. A while ago I noticed Starbucks was brewing fair trade coffee only once a week, and now, not at all. I am writing this petition in hope that Starbuck's will support fair trade everywhere.

  • Really? Virgin in Plastic?
Bertolli Extra Virgin Olive Oil does not belong in plastic bottles. It does not taste or store as well as it does in glass bottles. There are also safety concerns about chemical reaction toxicity between the oil and the plastic. I have contacted them but got no response.

  • Genetically modified foods should be clearly labeled.
Most of Europe does not even allow genetically modified foods but the US does not even required it to be labeled as genetically modified. We have a right to know what is in our food and if contains genetically modified ingredients.

  • NJ/NY NEED GAS: Big Oil Do Your Part Now
I'm a NJ resident without gas because of Hurricane Sandy. The lines for gas are miles long in NJ and NY. It is time for BIG OIL to have the backs of their neighbors in NJ and NY to get us through this diaster. Additionally, Big Oil should pay for generators at every gas station to keep gas flowing during a crisis.

  • Please Seek DOJ Investigation of Romney & eToys 2001 Frauds?
Mitt Romney's Bain Capital and their attorneys tried to bribe us to be willfully blind to their federal fraud and corruption in 2001 (the eToys case). We found Smoking Gun evidences that forced confessions by (secret) Bain Capital attorneys (that they lied under oath 34 times over several years). (Please see Wall Street Journal partial story http://www.post-gazette.com/stories/business/news/etoys-investors-claim-conflict-at-law-firm-592819/ )

  • Mr. Stiritz, your box says you agree. Now make gmo's a part of it.
Wether you agree or disagree on the issue, I believe you have a basic right to know what is in your food , and it seems Post cereal should share the sentiment. So I am asking Post to put their livelyhood where their mouth is. You see they seem to be sloganing for what everyone who is battling for gmo labeling is thinking. Don't believe me? Read their box. "Wouldn't it be great if it were easy to understand what is in your food?" Couldn't agree more. That's why I'm here writing this in hopes that post sees it and responds with a backing of proposition 37 in california.

  • FCC investigate All FOX Broadcasting for Subliminal Messaging!
Several YouTube videos SHOW that Fox is using subliminal messaging in several shows like Who's that hiding in my Fox News logo etc. We believe that Fox is using subliminal broadcasting techniques to sway voters in this election. None of the people we talk to can actually tell us why they are voting the way they are, but they all have the same pictures in their mind and they all watch Fox or Listen to their radio broadcasting.
