• Close Spanky's Gentlemen's Club in Wilson Borough
Shooting's, stabbings right in our residential neighborhood. Our kids playing on the streets and drunks parking in front of our homes to avoid detection from police. Wandering our streets after closings causing disruption in the middle of the night. Gunfire so close to where our children play and sleep. This place must be closed. A residential neighborhood is no place for that kind of business.

  • Detail Garage Rides and Coffee Events
Our business opened in August 2017 in the Sycamore Plaza at 2436 W. Whittier Blvd in La Habra. We have held a "Rides & Coffee" event every single month on the first Sunday each month for over 1 year now. This sale consists of customers coming by at 8 am; we provide coffee, donuts, discounts, music (not excessive volume), and a raffle. What this event does is bring us a significant amount of exposure to our business and also for the center, which has been pretty quiet for a few years. Each Sunday, only 1 other business is even open for business while the sale is on. The Donut Shop (Jax Donuts) loves us as we bring great business to their establishment! The other 3 businesses don't open until after the event has concluded. Only 65% of the businesses in the center are even open on Sundays and all shops but one are closed while our sale is on. We not only bring more exposure and business to this quiet center but also to the city of LaHabra (all families tend to go eat brunch after our sale). We believe this event has been a positive event for the center and for the city as we have never had any issues with our customers or the businesses in the area for the past 16 events we've had. This is NOT a car show but a sale. We did on one occasion hand out awards to customers, but this is NOT a sanctioned car show. Also, we have had such a positive impact for the community that the Chamber of Commerce has asked our shop to host their first ever car show at the Citrus Fair this year. Many members of the community and even Chamber members have attended and they love this sale/event we hold once a month. We have had several officers from La Habra Police Department stop by throughout the year and all they can do is thank us for a great time and keeping the event under control (without any issues like you see on the local news media with the typical car scene). Our Company Chemical Guys, which has been in business for over 17 years, operates 40+ stores across the country and run these sales once a month at each location. Last but not least, I have taken videos of how sad and empty this center is on a typical Sunday from 6 am to 5 pm. Very few patrons even shop in this center on any given Sunday. We feel we are only helping the community and the businesses in La Habra with the traffic and clientele we attract. This store has been in our community for over 17 months and is an added value to the entire business mix within the surrounding districts of La Habra. The demographics for La Habra demonstrate that we are a very diverse community both socially and economically. La Habra also has a vast number of car enthusiasts and certainly, all can benefit from the products and services that Our Shop provides.

  • Move 2019 Tax Filing Deadline from April 15th to July 15th
While the IRS will be able to process refunds most of the agency is shuttered by the shutdown. As taxpayers cannot cannot consult the IRS and the shutdown may go on indefinitely the tax filing deadline should be extended from 04/15 to 07/15. In addition, for those taxpayers who owe money payment should be similarly extended to 07/15. Perhaps this will place some pressure on the White House and Congress to come to their senses.

  • Arkansas Tax Cut 2017
Our Governor of the state promise to cut taxes for all. He announced in 2016 the state will receive a tax cut. The ending of 2016 he was very late putting the tax cut in which disqualified his entry. Now it's 2018 the Federal IRS are giving penalties for not having healthcare insurance and many more. Even more he also promised to put 6% towards the Arkansas Works Program for pre-existing conditions.

  • Cancel Jamaica's foreign debt
Jamaica has been under a debt burden since the mid-1970s, often paying back more than they receive in any given year. Jamaican people are suffering, violence is rampant, and repayments prevent development on many social indicators.

  • Sign to support the Domestic Workers Bill Of Rights
There are nearly 2 million domestic or in-home workers in America—nannies, housekeepers and home health care workers—who are excluded from basic labor protections. That means many workers face low or no pay and discrimination or harassment at work with no repercussions. The majority of these workers are women and people of color. That's why Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal and I are partnering up to introduce the Domestic Workers Bill of Rights in the next session of Congress. If our bill is enacted into law, we can protect some of the most vulnerable and exploited workers in America. The work of domestic workers is so incredibly important, both as caregivers and as organizers. We need to speak the truth: these workers are too often undervalued and underappreciated, and don’t have the same workplace protections as other workers. It's not right. If passed, the Domestic Workers Bill of Rights will: -Close legal loopholes excluding domestic workers from certain federal labor and civil rights laws -Create new benefits and protections for domestic workers -Encourage innovative solutions to address the unique challenges of domestic work -Create new tools to ensure that these rights are real and that workers can exercise their rights without fear This fall, Americans elected a historically diverse Congress to represent all Americans—so I believe there's no better time to pass this legislation. I'm counting on you to stand with me in support of millions of domestic workers in America. Add your name to call for equal workplace protections for domestic workers. In America, we all deserve basic rights, safety and dignity in the workplace. By fighting for fairness and equal treatment, we are fighting for the best of who we are as a country.

  • MLS & GCAR Board: Bring back "condition" as a required field
The sudden removal of "Condition" from search criteria as a REQUIRED field has caused many problems for the GCAR/ENYRMLS membership and our customers. It is also taking away from our power as real estate agents in an industry that is being inundated by the rapid growth of search engines like Zillow and Realtor.com. The MLS needs to bring back "Condition" as a REQUIRED field, reinstate the conditions that have been removed from prior sales so they can be used as comparable sales, and also provide a brief training on how to properly label listings and show sellers the definition of the conditions they sign-off on in the "data input form," possibly in a required GCAR course, or at the broker level. This needs to happen as soon as possible to prevent these ongoing problems of making agents look unprofessional to customers who expect more from their agent's searches for buying AND selling than what third-party search sources already provide.

  • Protect Video Gaming In Illinois
Illinois Video Gaming is one of the most advanced, entertaining and successful industries of its kind in the entire country. WE STRONGLY URGE THAT THE CURRENT LAWS AND RULES STAY THE SAME. Over the last three years, it has generated double-digit INCREASES in TAX receipts for STATE and LOCAL GOVERNMENT. The main reason for its unprecedented success is currently being threatened in the State Capitol. We call upon the Governor and the leaders in the State Legislature to form a task force to fully evaluate any proposed changes that would disrupt this burgeoning industry and leading funding source to the Illinois Capital Projects Fund -- the source dedicated to adequately funding the repair and reconstruction of the state’s crumbling roads, bridges and schools. The task force should be comprised of interested stakeholders, should hold hearings throughout the State, should solicit input from the public, and should publicize its findings widely.
