We all need clean water to drink and irrigate our crops. When billions of gallons of water are pumped into a gas well and it comes out polluted we all lose. Let the Governor know we do not want fracking in North Carolina.

The government is has been spraying our skies with aluminum and barium particles for the last six years. The reason they give for doing this is to reflect the sun away from the earth to help with global warming. But the aluminum is toxic and what goes up must come down. The fracking process used in oil and gas drilling is causing numerous and varied proposed regulations from all levels of government in Colorado. Since fracking is unlikely to be eliminated, a Colorado state law that it should only be done with non-toxic, biodegradable chemicals seems easier and appropriate.

The California Solar Rebate Fund is almost depleted. If the Fund was replenished more home owners and businesses would be able to afford the installation of solar arrays thus lowering their operating costs, putting contractors and manufacturers back to work (Creating Jobs) and putting money back into the economy.

According to our mission statement, WPI’s purpose is “to convey knowledge at the frontiers of academic inquiry for the betterment of society.” Although WPI has been a national leader in institutional sustainability, we find it contradictory and self-defeating that WPI invests its endowment in companies that threaten the future of its students and our global community.

ThyssenKrupp CSA has over 100 environmental complaints and has been fined millions of euros by the Rio de Janeiro government for its poor environmental record. In November 2012, after failing to comply to environmental standards, ThyssenKrupp CSA showered nearby communities with toxic graphite dust for the third time. Since the opening of the plant in 2010, locals have suffered from severe dermatological and pulmonary effects including lung disease and cancer. ThyssenKrupp CSA denies this dust is toxic. Our priority is environmental justice. We believe ThyssenKrupp CSA's poor human rights record proves that the plant should be stopped from going into full production and should shut down permanently TKCSA should also provide full compensation to those adversely affected by the plant.

Climate Change and the XL Pipeline.

I am an avid hiker and am aware of legislation including parts of Glacier Park that are proposed to be on the block for mineral rights.

If we don't have a healthy planet, everything else is moot. We need to STOP producing greenhouse gases and get serious about increasing penalties, enforcement of regulations, and changing from an energy dependency on fossil fuels. We HAVE to act on climate change, no more talking. Scientists have been talking about this for more than 40 years! Listen to them! Federal, State, Counties of EVERY state and all countries need to CHANGE!

We should enact a law requiring the source of energy to be revealed to the consumer. As a consumer, I do not want to purchase gasoline that comes from tar sands oil or natural gas obtained through hydraulic fracturing. However, I do not know when I go to the pump for gas, or pay my monthly gas bill to heat my home, where this energy is coming from.

We need better Public Transportation in The Bowie area of Prince George's County. We have limited transportation and limited transportation time schedules, this effects me personally because I do not drive I must depend on Public transportation; I am also disable I feel that we have a County Bus that does not even run in this area yet is all around this area. We also need longer hours and extended days. Better Public Transportation will ease the traffic problems, we can have cleaner air, and will provide better revenue for this area and Maryland in general. Elderly will be able to get to there shopping better and with the bus coming though the communities the Elderly will not have so far to walk and will cost them less then "Cabs, Metro access, etc. The roads in some of our communities are in bad need of repair and some of the major road could stand some repairs these conditions need to be address soon so they don't become worse.
