• Replace Ken Salazar as Head of Bureau of Land Management
Ken Salazar is illegally rounding up wild horses and burros in the midwest's public lands, against the Wild Horse and Burro Act protections and is selling them to kill buyers. He is managing our American Legacy to extinction.

  • No Fracking In North Carolina
Fracking is risky business at best and dangerous to the populous in the extreme at its worst. Fracking is a disaster waiting to happen. Decaying mantle, polluted waterways, contaminated drinking water, and caustic infringement on pristine natural areas are some of the consequences and costs to the environment and human lives of fracking. The science is not in yet and the benefits, both in terms of energy savings and job creation are still claims not evidenced or demonstated. We urge Pat McCrory to lead on this issue and show us that he cannot be bought by industry interests.

  • SKAGIT COUNTY FREE GMO
San Juan county just became the first in our state to become GMO free. Farmers united with locals to make it so. If we do not protect the integrity of our farms, we cannot insure the safety of our children's futures. GMO's are a corporate intrusion we cannot afford. Let's make Skagit County the second GMO free county!

  • Urge L.A. City Council to Clean Up Our Waste and Recycling System
L.A.’s landfills are overflowing, half our city can’t recycle and dirty waste trucks are polluting our communities. All this can change – but only if you demand that city leaders take action. They need to hear from you, because waste companies, landlords, big business and their lobbyists that make a killing off our current dirty system are doing everything they can to prevent change. A majority of our councilmembers already have pledged their support for the solution that’s best for Los Angeles. But the pressure is on, and there are five council members who need to hear from all of us before November 14. Please tell City Councilmembers Tom LaBonge, Paul Krekorian, Herb Wesson, Joe Buscaino and Jose Huizar to vote YES on an exclusive franchise for L.A.’s commercial and multifamily waste system. It's up to us to ensure that special interests don’t bully our city leaders against moving ahead and doing the right thing.

  • Small Wind Encouraged for Henderson, NY
Small wind systems for private owners have been proven effective to reduce dependence upon commercial electricity. Small wind systems which are approved by NYSERDA should be allowed anywhere in town where they can be placed their height away from the public. The Zoning Ordinance should be minimal and simple, to encourage the use of small wind systems, to increase individual prosperity, independence and self-sufficiency. Please send a hard copy of your signed petition with printed name and address and phone number to the Town of Henderson, Town Barn Rd, Henderson, NY 13650 to validate your support.

  • "Mayor Quan: Keep Oakland Beautiful"
I recently moved to East Oakland; very close to Wattling Street and 39th Avenue. I am very concerned about the amount of dumping that goes on here everyday. People think this is a free place to dump car parts, old car fluid containers, broken furniture , home and general trash. This is a true blight to the neighborhood and unhealthy for all who live here. Please install no dumping signs here and set up some kind of plan to enforce the signs and fine those who are illegally dumping this terrible garbage.

  • Climate change
We have long passed the point where we can actually prevent some of the adverse affects of climate change such as rising sea levels, ocean acidification, and large storms, but we may be able to slow it enough to adapt.
