• Democrats NEED To Play Hardball
The time has come for the Democrats to PLAY HARDBALL. Donald Trump and his administration are ignoring the rule of law. It IS time to issue subpoenas. It's time to tell the Sergeant at Arms to take Mnuchin and others who refuse to comply into custody. Congress HAS the inherent power to deal with contempt and it is time to EXERCISE THE POWER. We the people are TIRED of their stalling, blocking, and arrogance.

  • Stop wasting time and money Democrats: Run for the white house as a team, not as individuals.
I’m from a rural town in Northeast Pennsylvania, and am pursuing a career in sustainable agriculture and community development. I have intentions of spending most of my adult life, working at least 40 hours per week, to help provide the food that we all need to survive, and the plans and mobilization for community development, that we all need to thrive. Yet, I realize, if things stay the way they are, I will likely struggle to pay my bills and then have to deal with the high stress and anxiety that so many in our country face every day. I, and many other like minded individuals, want to help society, and yet not all of us are awarded financial stability for doing the best that we can do. Something is wrong with that, and that is why I care to write this petition. I urge all of the Democratic candidates to reflect on the importance the presidency holds, while not ignoring the fact that it takes far more than one individual to run a nation and bring about systemic change for the good of all. Enormous amounts of time and money in this country are wasted in argument and competition, whereas conversation and collaboration can actually get things done in an efficient manner. I ask that you stop your campaigns momentarily, sit down and talk to one another, and come up with a team to try and take over the executive branch through the 2020 election. After putting together a team and rough agenda headed for the white house, your now pooled campaign time and money could be invested in community discussions on how the big change y'all are proposing is not going to screw over the working class. Through these conversations, your agenda and policies can be refined to reflect the needs of the working class, while gathering enough grassroots support to ensure their passage into law if you do win the election. Political decisions are determining whether my neighbor and I have access to healthy food, clean water, a roof over our head, and the ability to educate and better ourselves. Political decisions should be leveling the playing field and making sure each and every person, regardless of sex, race, origin, or belief, has an equal opportunity to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. For those of you who do truly wish to help the American people, I urge you to work with, and not against, your fellow Americans, to renew our democracy and put our valuable time and money into solutions and not into competition. Thank you for your time :) Some light readings for reasoning… https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/the-meaningful-life/201802/life-liberty-and-the-pursuit-meaning https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/wonk/wp/2017/04/14/somebody-just-put-a-price-tag-on-the-2016-election-its-a-doozy/?utm_term=.baf59143b58d

  • Protect Those Who Protect You!
The last survey conducted by the military in military service academies revealed an increase in sexual assault reports compared to the previous years. Service members' safety should be a top priority for the Department of Defense since each member is giving their life to protect us.

  • SAVE Maine Youth Tackle Football
We would like to defeat bill LD-711 recently introduced to the Maine State Legislature. Here is the link to LD-711: http://www.mainelegislature.org/legis/bills/bills_129th/billtexts/HP051601.asp We would additionally like to inform the state legislature about the advancements youth football makes each year in the area's of safety, coaches training, new equipment, styles of play, and rule changes. These advancements are largely overlooked by the recent crusade against the sport of football. We acknowledge the risks, but want the choice to play or not to play left up to individual families while considering the safety advances of their local and regional organizations.

  • Pittsburgh DA Zappala: Resign Now!
District attorneys have vast power in criminal justice proceedings. DA Zappala has shown time and again that his interest in securing reelection far outweighs any commitment he has to justice and equity.

  • Rear-facing blue emergency lights for tow trucks
We are petitioning for rear facing blue lights on tow trucks in Texas and across the united states. we would like to use the rear facing blue lights just as state highway workers are allowed. But only while working on an active roadway while stationary picking up vehicles. This would be life saving if implemented.

  • Eliminate the Possibility of Government Shutdowns or Lessen Their Impacts
The most recent lapse in federal appropriations (2018–2019) shut down certain non-essential government services and forced some federal employees (e.g., airport security screeners) to report to work without pay. According to the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO), the partial shutdown also irreparably damaged the US economy, reducing growth by an estimated $8 billion in the first quarter of 2019 (https://www.cbo.gov/publication/54937).

  • Kill the College
When multiple presidencies are won in less than a score of years by one party, the same party which has a long history of setting up gerrymandering situations in numerous states, by notably less than the majority of US voters, the system cries for change. There is no valid reason why 6 million votes should be ignored by an arbitrary entity, (literally) giving the election to a person who would not even campaign in every state. If the President is to represent ALL of the United States, then it is incumbent upon him/her to speak to ALL of the population and adhere to the popular will of the people. The Electoral College, by design, precludes that in many cases. Because it can do so, it should no longer be considered viable and should be eliminated.

  • Who are the tough police officers and military personnel Trump says are tough and can be tougher ...
Many of the American people are uncomfortable with a president who's primary responsibility to protect the people of the United States. We believe the president has crossed the line. Many good Americans feel unsafe and threaten when any elected official makes such blantent threats to its own citizens the good American people. The president, who's sworn to serve and protect the people against all enemies foreign and domestic has left us confused. We The People, would like Congress to investigate who are these police officers and military tough guys? We know the overwhelming majority of public services empolyees are American hero's and we thank them for their sacrifices to keep us safe. Again thanks to our dedicated service people. Our police officers and military are also public servants, people whos taken an oath to serve and protect, paid by the people. We The People demand that those responsible for running all divisions of law enforcement and various military branches answer to the Congress. We need to be assured theres no cells, subsets that may be working independently of their oath and obligation to the people? We want to be assured there's no known groups working to support of anyone whos agenda for possible civil unrest. We want to be assured there are no subgroups within these groups that have organized to acting outside of the interest of the common good of the people; to assure the American people that public servants and not the tough muscle working against Americans because of different idiolgies whos legally and within their constitutional rights disagree with leadership. We want to be assured our Congress and the good people of the USA can disagree with no fear of violence or the threat of violence from very tough people as described by the president of the United States.

  • Cannabis Legalization/Removing Off Schedule 1
I am a medical cannabis patient who uses it for a lower back injury which has messed up my nerves and effects both of my legs and feet, and now I cannot do what I had been able to do and it takes me longer to do things now. With being able to use cannabis medically, my health has gotten better and my tests have improved and my body has been rebuilding itself, and still have the systems to release the pain to the point I can move better. Cannabis has benefits to it. There have been many studies on it in different countries and also ours that can prove there are beneficial benefits for the body. There are only four medical schools in our country that study the endocannabinoid systems in our bodies. There are food and plants that have cannabinoids in them, but not enough to keep the body efficient and that regulate our body systems in good health. If it was legalized, we could have the right to choose what will help our bodies and live better and healthier when doctors cannot find the right medications that are causing more harm and death. It would save money from the lawsuits' payout to put into better studies.
