Defending a corrupt President and protecting his interests in the face of overwhelming evidence against him is a supreme dereliction of duty for any Senator or Congressman who puts their fealty to Donald Trump above their sworn duty to the Constitution of the United States of America. My hope is that a public reaffirmation of our elected representatives' sworn duties to the Constitution will remind not only all of them, but their constituents too, where their loyalties should lie.

The hypocrisy of a group of men who wanted to lock Hillary up for using a private email server compromising national security to defend a lawless president is insufferable. It's time for decent people to take a stand against such shameless disregard for the legal process and take our country back from far-right radicals holding our democracy hostage. These lawmakers must be held accountable for breaking House rules and violating national security protocol. Nobody is above the law!

The Shellfishermen of Wellfleet and throughout Massachusetts have been organizing since January 2019 in opposition to legislation that would lead to privatization and consolidation of Wellfleet's Historical Shellfish Grants. The commoditization of Wellfleet's flats would have detrimental impacts on our small farmers and wild fishermen who consist of small family farms and businesses. Shepherds Mill Road in Clarke County Virginia is used as a short cut and heavily traveled during rush hour. The current speed limit of 55 miles per hour seriously endangers the residents, our pets, and our livestock. It is imperative that the speed limit is lowered to 35 to prevent additional accidents and fatalities on the road.

President Trump is once again putting himself above the law, claiming the House’s impeachment inquiry is "illegitimate" and "unconstitutional" and refusing to comply with any inquiry-related subpoenas. Despite the president's obstinacy, the House must do everything it can to make sure the inquiry moves forward -- and that any Trump administration officials who are implicated by it are held accountable. That includes holding anyone who attempts to obstruct the investigation "in contempt" -- a serious procedure that can result in fines and even jail time for uncooperative witnesses. This administration has proven that subpoenas alone won't be enough. Congress must use every tool it has to rein in this president who consistently abuses his power -- and show a strong, unified response to the administration’s obstruction. Please see this update I received today from Caltrans on the timeline for installation: Hi Heather – Caltrans is working on a project to install a 3-megawatt generator at the Lantos Tunnel. In fact, Caltrans engineers met with staff from Caterpillar Corporation today, going over design specifications for the generator that will be installed at the Tunnel Operations Center. A generator of its size will take some time to develop, build, and install. Currently, we are in the design phase. After the design specifications are delivered, Caterpillar will custom-build the generator. Caltrans and Caterpillar will work together to install the generator onsite. All tolled, the process with taken 8-12 months. The generator will have more than enough power to run the tunnel systems, including the jets fans, in the event of a power outage. The tunnels cannot be open without electricity. It’s imperative that a backup generator is installed because the tunnels are a lifeline for thousands of Coastside residents. If electricity is not available after an earthquake or any other emergency, residents will be left in a desperate situation. There is also the major economic impact as it is part of a major north-south artery in San Mateo county. Please sign this petition that directly asks Caltrans and elected local, state, and Congress officials to put the safety of Coastside residents first with the common-sense installation of a permanent backup generator for the Lantos Tunnels.

In an effort to decolonize from forced assimilation, many of us, the descendants of Naparyarmiut, would prefer to legally acknowledge our home town by its original Yup'ik name. The northernmost U.S. city, Utqiagvik, was successful in reverting back to their traditional Inupiaq name and so has the Yup'ik village, Nunam Iqua. There is power in a name. Naparyarmiut warriors were strong and fierce. It's time we take our power back that the colonizers took from us when they changed the name of our beautiful sea-side village to "Hooper Bay". Vaping has helped many people quit smoking cigarettes. Due to people buying knock off online juices and THC cartridges, they gained lung disease. The CDC has proven flavored vape products that are purchased in-store did not cause any health issues. It is actually a healthier approach than cigarettes. Teenagers have their hands on these products as well, yet they get their hands on cigarettes, alcohol, and drugs but nobody has banned any of those products. There is absolutely no reason to ban a helpful product.
