• PAPER BALLOTS for 2020
If we allow the 2020 election to be targeted, and we KNOW foreign governments have done this and will do this, then shame on us. Stop trying to do this electronically, let's have fair elections.

  • Tell the GOP to stop blocking important election security bills
"Over the course of my career, I've seen a number of challenges to our democracy. The Russian government's effort to interfere in our election is among the most serious." - former Special Counsel Robert Mueller, during his testimony before the House Judiciary Committee Robert Mueller made it entirely clear to our members of Congress and the American people: Russia’s attack on our elections was drastic -- and if we don’t immediately improve our election security measures, we can expect it to happen again in 2020. But the fact of the matter is -- despite multiple warning signs, leaders in Washington, D.C. haven’t done NEARLY enough to protect our election systems from foreign interference. In fact, just after Mueller's powerful testimony, one GOP senator blocked a series of commonsense, bipartisan election security bills -- and Senator McConnell personally blocked two more election security bills from being voted on today. We can’t afford to put off fortifying our electoral process any longer. 2020 is fast approaching -- and if we don’t act now to stop foreign entities from spreading misinformation, hacking voting machines, and attempting to collaborate with campaigns, the very foundation of our democracy could be at risk. We deserve the utmost confidence that the American people decide who wins our elections, not Russian operatives. And we already know the strong, simple solutions that work -- like paper ballots and post-election audits. But now, it’s up to Congress to act. Add your name to tell your representatives: secure our elections, before it’s too late.

  • Impeach William Barr
This petition aims in one more way to preserve democracy against the violations of the Trump administration and the current Attorney General. Right now, instead of an independent judiciary, it seems we have a ventriloquist's dummy in the office of Attorney General. This is a violation of the US Constitution which wisely created three SEPARATE branches of government. If the Attorney General simply does the bidding of the President, the people have no legal defense against the President's violations of our democratic rights.

  • Get Live Music Back At Deer Lakes Bowl!
I am starting a petition to get the support and cooperation of the local community to fight against these rules pressed against Deer Lakes Bowl; to get permission from the West Deer Township, Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board, and the Pennsylvania State Police, to allow Deer Lakes Bowl to have live music, every Saturday, on the outdoor patio!

  • Impeach Alexander Acosta
The Secretary of Labor is supposed to stand up for the rights of workers, but Alexander Acosta has shown that he is interested only in protecting the rich and powerful. He broke the law to protect a man that spent decades preying on young girls and, for these efforts, was rewarded with a cabinet position. This man has no place in our government - let alone as the head of the Department of Labor, an agency tasked with investigating claims of workplace sexual harassment and assault.

  • Please don't normalize tanks on our streets.
I am deeply troubled by the constant, steady normalization of cruelty, brutality, competition, and aggression by the Trump administration. I hate to think that a day I grew up celebrating with hot dogs and sparklers and American flags could, for children now, become a day on which they see weapons of destruction being touted as the primary means by which to achieve freedom and happiness.

  • REMOVE THE STAIN ACT : Rescind Medals of Honor for Wounded Knee Massacre
Rescind the Medals of Honor Capitol Hill has introduced legislation that seeks to rescind 20 Medals of Honor awarded for the Wounded Knee massacre. If passed, the "Remove the Stain Act" would remove the names of the 20 cavalrymen who are currently on the Medal of Honor Roll. It wouldn't require any surviving medals to be returned, nor the denial of any benefits. All 20 men who received the medal are dead. The effort began when Rep. Denny Heck of Washington went to his staff with an idea for a bill. Native American groups have been calling for the medals to be rescinded for years. "The congressman had been reading about the massacre and was bothered by the fact that the 20 Medals of Honor had not been rescinded," his spokesperson Bobby Mattina told CNN. "He sees this bill as helping Native American communities with healing, but also protecting the prestige of the Medal of Honor and removing the stain of the massacre from its legacy." One of his cosponsors is Rep. Deb Haaland, who earlier this year became one of the first Native American women to ever serve in Congress. "This bill is particularly significant because it's a marker," she said in a speech announcing the bill's introduction. "It shows that our country is finally on its way to acknowledging and recognizing the atrocities committed against our Native communities." https://www.stripes.com/house-lawmakers-propose-bill-to-rescind-medals-of-honor-awarded-for-wounded-knee-massacre-1.587558 https://www.military.com/daily-news/2019/06/26/lawmakers-seek-revoke-wounded-knee-medals-us-soldiers.html https://www.cnn.com/2019/06/26/politics/medal-of-honor-wounded-knee-trnd/index.html
