Chicago faces multitudes of glaring issues that need to be solved. But before we can address any of them, we need to make sure our elected leaders prioritize the city's best interests over their personal bank accounts. It's time all mayoral candidates release their complete tax returns — not just their 1040 form cover sheets — so we can see what their financial interests are, how they made their money, what their potential conflicts of interests are.

I am tired of Senator McConnell failing to allow his own Senate to vote on major issues throughout his tenure, a trait that is expected in countries that do not enjoy democratic freedoms.

Trash is overflowing at national parks, polluting the greatest nature in this country. And worse, President Trump plans to extend this shutdown for "months or years" just to get a big TRUMP wall on the border! We must act, and get Susan Collins, who has vocalized her support for a spending bill regardless of its border wall position, to vote "yes" on a spending bill to stand up to President Trump and end this government shutdown that has affected too many government employees and regular American citizens.

Federal employees, and the American people are fed up with politicians playing games with their lives. This nation belongs to ALL people. Congress and the White House needs to know who’s in charge - The People of The United States.

Holding the USA congress and President accountable. They are guilty of high crimes against the USA.

If enough members of Congress would agree to do this, it would restore the authority of Congress, which the people who drafted our Constitution intended to be the most powerful of the three branches. It would put needed limits on the imperial presidency we have seen under recent administrations of both parties.

I don't think it's fair to use the citizens of the United States as hostages in budget negotiations. I think if Congress couldn't adjourn until they reached an agreement, it would certainly speed up the negotiation process. Congress should be constitutionally mandated to reach agreement on all budget issues without adjourning. This would lessen or prevent any future Government Shutdowns.
