AG Douglas Chin: Drop your support for slave fishing captainsFormerly Homeland Security deportation form allowed for two choices: "Deport immediately" and "Bring to a deportation hearing immediately." At the behest of foreign vessels, Sen Inouye got them to add a third choice of "Detain on board". This was meant to be a few days while the ship was briefly docked in Hawai'i. What it has turned into is months and years of imprisonment for foreign fishermen and human trafficking. AG Chin is supporting the practice of illegally issuing these deportees fishing licenses which underpins this entire human trafficking operation.16 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Karen Chun

Take Trump Off TwitterDisarm Trump's Twitter Account Take Trump Off Twitter (TTT) We, the undersigned, respectfully request that Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey end Donald Trump’s Twitter account. Donald Trump’s "tweets" purvey purposely-false information, attack other public servants unfairly, inflame international diplomatic tensions, and threaten the reputation of the United States of America as a world leader of peace and democratic ideals. Perhaps most disturbing, Trump’s tweets deliver inconsistent and contradictory messages to the American People about their country’s policies and stability. Secretary of State Tillerson called Trump a "f****** moron" after Trump ridiculed the Secretary in a tweet for seeking a negotiated solution with North Korea, a nuclear power. The Washington Post reported that one of Trump's closest friends, Tom Barrack, was "shocked" and "stunned" by Trump's rhetoric and tweets. Our Constitution protects free speech. However, Twitter is a web-based technology platform that reserves full discretion to limit access to specific customers for abusing their service. We think Donald Trump has abused the privilege of this service, and continues to harm America and the American people with his continued access to Twitter. We request Mr. Dorsey immediately discontinue Trump’s access to Twitter.4 of 100 SignaturesCreated by David Hadden

Congress: Support the bipartisan HONEST Ads Act for online political adsAfter the Russian interference in the 2016 election and the millions of ads served to voters purchased by Russian accounts, our political ad disclosure laws need updating. The bipartisan HONEST Ads Act will modernize disclosure laws for online political ads and help bolster the integrity of our elections. All Americans, regardless of their political party, have a right to know who is trying to influence our votes and opinions. As political ad spending continues to shift to online platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and Google, our laws should keep pace. Whether it be a big money Super PAC or a Russian oligarch, the American people should know who is paying for those ads. Modernizing our election laws around online political ads our transparency and election laws is commonsense and needed, especially after the Russian interference in the 2016 election. Every member of Congress should support this bipartisan and important bill.227 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Common Cause

Tell Congress to censure Trump for his cruel attacks on Gold Star familiesTrump has a long and disgraceful history of disrespecting veterans and military families, but his callous treatment of Myeshia Johnson - whose husband was killed in Niger earlier this month - proves once and for all that he is unfit to be Commander in Chief. When Trump called Ms. Johnson, not only did he tell the grieving widow that her husband, Sgt. La David T. Johnson "knew what he signed up for," he even struggled to remember the fallen soldier's name! As an Afghanistan veteran, I want to know when Congress will finally stand up for our military community. Trump must be held accountable for his attacks on troops, veterans and their families. Tell Congress to censure Trump now.29 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Perry O'Brien

Joe Rannazzisi for Drug CzarOur country is facing a grave risk from the opioid crisis. The Drug Czar cannot be another political crony or a payback for a favor. The job demands a person of intelligence, a well-informed person whose only agenda is to rid our country of this scourge.23 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Rober DeChellis

Petition Demanding No-Excuse Absentee Voting in PennsylvaniaVoting is the most fundamentally significant right under our Constitution because the right to vote in a free and unimpaired manner is the preservative of other basic civil and political rights. Offering no-excuse absentee voting will expand access to the ballot box for all Pennsylvanians and make it easier for Pennsylvanians to participate in our democracy. “[T]he right to vote is too precious, too fundamental to be burdened or conditioned.” Harper v. Virginia State Bd. of Elections, 383 U.S. 663, 670 (1966).83 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Garen Meguerian

Condemn Trump's attack on the free pressOur democracy relies on a free, fair, and adversarial press to hold power accountable. It’s one of the reasons we have a First Amendment. But President Trump continues to escalate his attacks on journalists -- recently threatening to take away NBC’s broadcast license for reporting what he claims is “Fake News.” To be perfectly clear, Trump has absolutely no right or ability to make good on this threat. The law doesn’t let the President revoke broadcast licenses.. If Trump tried to, it would be blatant and unacceptable intervention in the decisions of the Federal Communications Commission, an independent agency. But we can’t allow this President to continue to bully and attack journalists for doing their jobs -- just because they’re reporting news he doesn’t like. It’s not just NBC stations that will find this threat chilling, but also smaller independent stations around the country who might lack the resources to fight back. This isn’t the first time President Trump has attacked journalists he believed were treating him unfairly. During the campaign, Trump pledged to “open up” libel laws to make it easier to sue news organizations -- and earlier this year he branded them an “enemy of the American People.” This sort of attack on the free press undermines our democracy. We are not an authoritarian state -- Americans expect the media to hold Donald Trump and anyone else with political power accountable. That’s why it’s so important to take this pledge today to oppose Donald Trump’s attacks on the free press and stand in solidarity with journalists that hold Trump accountable. Please add your name today.664 of 800 SignaturesCreated by Common Cause

Making Medical Marijuana legal in NY stateI believe that medical marijuana should be accessible to people suffering with illness and disease, and it's evident to see that in states that medical marijuana is legal, there are only positive effects that have come to the surface. Less people will be struggling and everyone deserves the treatment of medical marijuana if it benefits their conditions. Lets all come together and show that we are capable of making a change, and stand up for those who need it the most!94 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Emily Perez
