Join the campaign urging CalPERS and the New York State Common Retirement Fund to Divest Trump SoHo. We the people have the power to hold Donald Trump accountable to the U.S. Constitution. Right now, the hard-earned dollars of state employees like firefighters, police officers, and public workers are being paid into a real estate fund that transfers millions to the Trump Organization to manage the Trump SoHo in New York City, New York. Those payments from state pension funds fall into a scheme that ultimately puts money directly into President Trump’s pockets and violates the Domestic Emoluments Clause of the U.S. Constitution. The California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS) and the New York State Common Retirement Fund have a long history of leadership on ethics, corporate governance, and transparency. As fiduciaries, they also have a responsibility to act according to the highest ethical standards and legal standards and to avoid conflicts of interest.

The U.S. Capitol should not be a home to symbols of white supremacy and slavery. Unfortunately, there are multiple statues in the U.S. Capitol's Statuary Hall that do exactly that. These statues represent the faces of the Confederacy, and they must be moved out of the U.S. Capitol building and into a museum. It is time for Speaker of the House Paul Ryan and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to take a stand against symbols of white supremacy and slavery. They must back the removal of Confederate statues from the U.S. Capitol Building. U.S. House of Representatives Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi has called for these statues to be removed. U.S. Senator Cory Booker has introduced a resolution calling for the same. When will Congress take action?

Families have been torn apart in the past, as emergency rescue operations have required guardians to leave their beloved dogs or cats behind. We're asking the head of the federal emergency rescue operations, William Long, to issue a policy requiring that all rescue personnel include dogs, cats, and other animals in their efforts to save lives.

The VA, everywhere across the world, is taking Veteran disability benefits because it was their mistake that they overpaid for whatever reason. Veterans all over, as well as their families, are being affected by this, losing their homes, cars, etc. Let's put an end to this!

Our country was not prepared for Hurricane Harvey. With only $3.3 billion to spend, FEMA does not have nearly enough resources to cover rescue and recovery efforts in Houston and along the Gulf Coast. A report by CoreLogic estimates that Hurricane Harvey could cause $39.6 billion of damage of homes alone in its immediate path. A major infusion of federal funds is critically needed to bring in additional emergency response teams; begin cleanup efforts; repair damaged houses, schools, businesses, and infrastructure; provide aid to displaced families; help those who have lost their homes and livelihood; provide healthcare and nutrition assistance to those in need; and more. As Congress returns from August recess, top of the Republican agenda will be to pass a federal budget aimed at reducing the size of government by slashing government programs. In his own version of the budget, Donald Trump proposed major funding cuts for disaster relief. As we are seeing now with Hurricane Harvey, FEMA is central to relief efforts in this historic national disaster, demonstrating the unique role government plays in times of need, providing assistance and support, mitigating the effects of disaster for America families and communities. Millions of us worked and donated to support Bernie Sanders' presidential bid, only to get cheated. The Democrats argued, in a FL court, that they can select their nominee however they want. Super delegates exist to prevent voters from choosing. But if the public has no voice, then the public should not be funding this charade. We need to defund Democrat primaries now.
