• Marco Rubio must disavow Donald Trump and his racist attacks
Donald Trump launched his presidential campaign by calling Mexican immigrants "murderers" and "rapist," and has since deployed similar attacks on target women, Muslims, and most recently veterans and their families. Last week, Donald Trump dismissed the sacrifices of Khizr and Ghazala Khan, the parents of fallen U.S. Army Capt. Humayun Khan, and has proceeded to insult them repeatedly on national television. Another target of Donald Trump’s insults earlier this year was Gonzalo P. Curiel, a U.S. Citizen born in Indiana who serves as a federal judge in California, who Trump accused of being unfit to preside over the Trump University litigation due to Curiel’s “Mexican heritage.” Instead of denouncing Trump's abuse and disrespect towards the family of a fallen soldier, a federal judge, and other minority groups across America, Marco Rubio continues to support and defend Donald Trump's racist policies and offensive attacks on our fellow citizens. If Marco Rubio wants to represent all Floridians adequately in the U.S. Senate, then he must disavow Donald Trump’s racism and revoke his endorsement immediately. It is unacceptable for Marco Rubio to continue supporting Donald Trump while seeking to represent the state of Florida, and its diverse population, in the U.S. Senate. We demand that Marco Rubio puts people before politics and revokes his support for Donald Trump!

  • Jill Stein: Hire Lauren Steiner
Lauren Steiner proudly voted for Jill Stein in 2012 but supported Bernie Sanders for the Democratic Primary because, like Bernie, she thought he had a better chance to be President running in the Democratic Party. However, it was always her intention to endorse Jill Stein, if Bernie did not make it, and work for her campaign, if she was so fortunate to be hired. Lauren put her blood, sweat and tears into Bernie's campaign for 58 weeks building LA for Bernie into the largest Bernie organization in Los Angeles with 40 neighborhood, college and constituency groups and 1800 volunteers in the database. She worked straight through the Democratic Convention where she organized the Monday night protest against the TPP seen around the world. As an activist and an organizer, Lauren would be able to reach out not only to Bernie supporters, college students and Millennials in California but also to groups organized around issues. In addition to being a good organizer, Lauren is an excellent communicator who can write articles and press releases, produce videos and memes and speak to organizations and the media as a surrogate for Jill. Please consider hiring Lauren for this position, You won't be sorry.

  • Support the Decolonization Process for Puerto Rico
I just came back to live in Puerto Rico after 36 years in the continental USA. The powerlessness of Puerto Rico is oppressive. While Walmart, Walgreen's, Sam's Club, Burger King and American companies make millions of dollars from a captive audience (almost tax free), we have no money to pay for special education services and to invest in our basic education and health services. Now our government has been declared by the US dysfunctional and with the approval of PROMESA , an oversight board named by the President who will rule over own elected government, our colonial status is more evident than ever.

  • Simple Democracy
I was not allowed to represent myself in a lower court criminal case and when I tried to appeal the decision my case was taken over by an international syndicate of attorneys. Since I was unable to protect myself from denial of my 4th Amendment right to feel secure in my person and possessions and since I was denied my 14th Amendment right to own property the NSA should be responsible for their attack on those 2 Amendments by stealing the paid for property of Americans, the integrity of their phones. The Court must order an end to the 2 party system and the Electoral College and order NSA to prepare a voter data base and also put all parties candidates on the ballot because Dr. Jill Stein made the ballot in Washington and under the Constitution that means that all the voters get her on their ballots.

  • SIGN THE PETITION: No national security briefings for Donald Trump
Donald Trump just asked Vladimir Putin, Russia's dangerous dictator, to commit espionage on Secretary Hillary Clinton and publicize state secrets that could threaten the security of the United States. Trump’s unprecedented request is not only dangerous, it may also violate federal law. What’s even more horrifying is that, as the Republican Nominee for President, Trump is scheduled to start receiving classified national security briefings as early as tomorrow. Donald Trump is a very real, dangerous, and serious threat to our national security. And he should not be let within 10 feet of any classified security information. We must join together and raise a massive outcry NOW before it’s too late!

  • Don't allow Trump access to national security briefings
Donald Trump just called on "Second Amendment people" to act if Hillary Clinton appoints a Supreme Court Judge. This veiled threat is not just unpresidential—it's dangerous. As the Republican nominee for president, Donald Trump will soon be given access to highly sensitive intelligence briefings about national security. Because Donald Trump has never held a position of public service—such as being a state representative, governor, or public official—he has never been vetted for a security clearance. Giving someone like Trump access to this sensitive information is unprecedented and dangerous. Even national security officials have expressed concern about Trump's misunderstandings of the military and foreign policy. In April, CIA Chief John Brennan condemned Trump's position on waterboarding and torture, and Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Joseph Dunford condemned water boarding, calling it "unAmerican." And just last week, more than 50 Republican security officials just warned that Donald Trump would put America's security "at risk." Trump has proven himself unstable and untrustworthy already—using incorrect and exaggerated information to stoke fear among his supporters throughout his campaign. Pulitzer Prize-winning PolitiFact reports that only 4% of his statements can be verified as "true." We must continue to stand up to Donald Trump. Tell Director of National Intelligence James Clapper to block Trump's access to national security intelligence now.

  • Convict Donald J. Trump of Treason for Encouraging Foreign Countries to Wage Cyber War on America
Let it be clear that this is not an attack on the GOP or the Republican Party. Mr. Trump has made statements I feel are hateful, but to try to take away his Right to Free Speech would equally take away my right to say I disagree. Donald J. Trump on the morning of July 27, 2016, used his Right, but abused that right and broke a strict and well-defined law that should result in his incarceration for a minimum of 5 years, and make him ineligible for any public office in the country of The United States of America indefinitely. Mr. Trump encouraged and gave comfort to Russia to pursue finding emails by a cyber attack. This is not a joke or quip, but breaks the law of our great country! Donald Trump should be held accountable, and I would say the same to anyone who would say such a statement. With Mr. Trump's surge in popularism, we cannot let that jade ourselves in holding him accountable. This is not the case of emails detained in the United States on servers that people question the security of years later. Let us be clear; he did not call on American hackers, of which there are some of the best who hold positions in top companies and having inside information on preventions and backdoors. Instead, he called on a foreign country that he had 15 seconds before called, "disgusting" and "disgraceful" for their alleged actions of hacking, "..another Government's emails of a major political party..." Instead, Mr. Trump aligned and allied himself with the Russian Government and requested they continue a cyber "war" on his country, the United States. That is baffling and repulsive, and that is not what a real American would ever say. Nor a Russian the opposite. He made it crystal clear that he condones and adheres to Russia's unlawful attack. It is inciting and encouraging Cyber-War from another country targeting his own country, and mine, the United States of America. By the Title 18 of the U.S. Code § 2381 - Treason is defined as, "Whoever, owing allegiance to the United States, levies war against them or adheres to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort within the United States or elsewhere, is guilty of treason and shall suffer death, or shall be imprisoned not less than five years and fined under this title but not less than $10,000; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States. (June 25, 1948, ch. 645, 62 Stat. 807; Pub. L. 103–322, title XXXIII, § 330016(2)(J), Sept. 13, 1994, 108 Stat. 2148.)" Donald J. Trump has levied and encouraged a cyber-war or cyber attack from a foreign country. He has adhered, defined as the "commitment" or "acceptance of doctrine," to Russia's disgraceful attempt at inciting chaos in a countries main political party. And he has given them direct comfort by stating they would be paid heavily for doing so. As a Proud and Strong American, I use my Constitutional Right to call on the U.S. Senate, U.S. Congress, and President Barack Obama to bring the charge of "Treason against the United States" against Donald J. Trump. (1) For his aligning and condoning to Russian agendas and illegal activity, and (2) giving comfort abroad by stating they, the hackers believed to be paid by the Russian government, would be rewarded if they succeed in the bounty he placed on the emails of a former United States Secretary of State. Putting the information within those emails would be detrimental and bring repercussions within many other countries, but first and foremost to and against the United States both at home and abroad. Sincerely, Matt Steadman

  • ALEC is in Indiana this week, so tell Indiana-based Eli Lilly to dump ALEC!
The American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) is holding its annual policy conference in Indiana this week. But their shadowy lobbying practices shouldn't receive a warm welcome -- sign our petition to Indiana-based Eli Lilly to dump ALEC today! ALEC works behind closed doors to help big corporations like Exxon Mobil, Comcast, Pfizer, & Koch Industries secretly lobby politicians for favorable treatment. They work in secret, shutting voters out of the process, but giving corporate members the same vote as legislators and other elected officials who are elected to do the public's business. Even worse, those corporations get a tax write-off on their contributions, because ALEC claims that it is a "charity." Lobbyists from those corporations and politicians sit behind closed doors to adopt "model" bills that affect everything from the water you drink and air you breathe, the schools your children attend, the size of your paycheck, and your ability to access affordable healthcare and medicine. Public outcry has led over 100 companies, including Ford, Google, Facebook, and more, to cut ties with ALEC. Now, it's time for Eli Lilly to do the same. Eli Lilly touts its corporate commitment to laudable goals like "Improving Global Health" and "Strengthening Communities" -- now it's time to back up their words with action. Sign our petition and tell Eli Lilly to drop out of ALEC today.

  • Open the presidential debates to all viable candidates!
Meaningful changes and reforms that many Americans desperately need and desire are unlikely to be accomplished as long as the Republicans and Democrats have a monopoly over the electoral process. Much needs to be done to make the process more open to alternative candidates and ideas, but we can start by demanding that the national presidential debates be opened to all viable candidates, those who are on the ballot in a sufficient number of states to be able to win the required number of electoral votes to be elected. Supporting this demand does not support any candidates or their positions, nor does it oppose any candidates or their positions. Opening the debates to all viable candidates does, however, allow voters to be exposed to the open and free exchange of alternative ideas for governance that will allow us to be better informed before we vote.
