It is time to restore our representative democracy. Today 87% of Americans are deeply troubled by the corrupting influence of money in politics. Our elected officials no longer represent the people who vote for them, they represent their donors. We need to get money out of politics, and the biggest step is overturning the 'Citizens United' supreme court case and banning corporations from contributing to elections. To do that, we need our state legislature to call for a constitutional convention. Vermont and California have already called for a Constitutional Convention. Connecticut should join them. Tell your elected officials you want a constitutional convention to overturn Citizens United.

The Republican Congress has vowed to do nothing every since President Obama was elected. Their tactics have shut down the government, delayed the return of a strong economy, and hurt the American people. We need the Do Nothing Congress to break their conspiracy of doing nothing to help the President help Americans, and we need them to get back to work for the sake of America. Right now, the Republican Congress is acting as a Ponzi scheme --getting our hard earned money but not producing a single plan, bill, or regulation to help Americans.

They don't do anything for THE PEOPLE anymore, laws are to Come FROM the People and be FOR the people, not come at us and AGAINST us. Corporations ARE NOT PEOPLE, People are People ONLY and Forever!

Speaker John Boehner recently announced that a "lawsuit" against President Obama he's promised the Tea Party is actually going to be nothing more than suing the President on the delay in implementation of the Affordable Care Act - a law Republicans don't support. Why sue over implementation of a law when you don't want the law implemented? This suit is nothing more than an attempt to appease the far-right wing of his own party. Tell him enough is enough.

There is no justification for The Speaker of the House to use taxpayer funds to finance a politically motivated lawsuit against POTUS favored only by one political party.

The whole reason this rule has existed since Watergate is that paying for ritzy vacations is the easiest way for a corporation to know someone’s vote has been bought and paid for. And if we don’t speak out while the ink is still wet, it will be open season on political corruption.

We can't let Congress promise us meaningful reform and then betray our privacy rights all over again.

Super PACs are evading our disclosure laws and influencing elections in Massachusetts. The needs of the average citizens are being pushed aside to focus on the needs of big money. The Massachusetts Disclosure Bill calls for transparency. Super PACs would be required to disclose their funding sources in real time instead of keeping voters in the dark. Voters deserve to know where the money funding these Super PACs is coming from.

Human history continually teaches us that violence only leads to more violence. The only alternative is peaceful solutions to conflict. As leader of the free world the United States must take the lead to create a more peaceful world. There is no viable alternative.

I am personally concerned about the power of the one percent vs. the power of the people and the invasion of privacy that has crept into our society under the guise of National Security. We need to change the composition of the Supreme Court in order to guarantee our Constitutional rights.

These justices are anything but just. When this court decided that "corporations are people", and then stretched that decision to say that said "corporate people" can give unlimited amounts of cash to political candidates, they chose the 1%. When they then contorted the law to allow for-profit corporations and non-profit religious and educational organizations to limit the insurance options available to their female employees (only), they chose men over women, and religion over the greater social good. This last decision to bar access to 20 forms of birth control to any woman who works for a privately owned for-profit corporation or for a non-profit religious or educational organization is flat-out discriminatory. It sets a dangerous precedent against freedom of religion and freedom of choice - to say nothing of employment law. Bosses have no right to know you even went to the doctor, let alone the reason or your diagnosis. They most certainly should not be allowed to limit a woman's access to the insurance coverage and LEGAL treatment options (that remain available to women who work for public firms). These justices are out of control and derelict in their duties, and should have their lifelong jobs terminated -- for the greater good, for women, and for freedom of religion. It is improper to sit in judgement when one cares only about rich, religious men. I am so upset about this because I have adult daughters, nieces, and friends who are in their child-bearing years and don't deserve for the clock to be set back to the '50's, or for this democracy to devolve into theocracy.

There are some people in Congress who are there for decades. It is not a balance of power when you have a limited President but not a limited Congress. People who have been in Congress for several decades usually are there because of lobbyists and not because of the views of their constituents. Their views usually never change, even though the people they represent do. Balance should have the same rules when it is an issue in the Constitution. In the beginning it was a voluntary honor to serve in Congress. Now it is a paid job but at taxpayers' expense. As a tax payer, I would like to see terms and fresh people with fresh minds and ideas, keeping up with the times.
