Recent decisions by the U.S. Supreme Court, in Citizens United and McCutcheon, have unleashed a flood of unregulated money into our elections. These decisions are having a corrosive effect on our democracy, allowing special interests to drown out the voices of regular citizens. That’s why I’m supporting an amendment to the U.S. Constitution to overturn these disastrous decisions, and allow us to restore transparency and reasonable limits to campaign contributions and spending. The American people deserve an election system that is fair, transparent, and accountable. More and more teens are killed evey year by their own reckless driving. They are too concerned with their cell phones, Facebook, Twitter, etc., and not paying attention to what they're doing and killing innocent people in the process. My 15-year-old cousin was killed recently by a reckless teen driver whom she was in the car with. He was speeding, not paying attention, and lost control. The car was cut in half by a tree; the driver and passenger survived. All three teens in the back died, including my cousin. Also, I want the teens to have their temps for a year before they can get their licenses. So, at age 17, they would get their temps, and at 18, their licenses. All people no mater what age must have their temps for 1 year before obtaining their licenses if they have never had a driver license before.

Corporations are controlling our government through buying our elections and enough is enough, its is time to call on our State Officials to demand a Constitutional Convention that would result in a 28th Amendment making all elections publicly funded, and over-turn Citizens United.

The gov does not have the power to tell the judicial branch who and when to prosecute, without the facts even being known. He has asked AG Eric Holder and the MO Attorney general to take action, even without the grand jury even hearing the case.

People are forced to utilize this service when the unfortunate event of injury occurs on the job, they have no other alternative. My experience with this agency was fraught with incompetence, inattention to detail, disrespectful treatment, discrimination, operating outside their scope of practice by rendering medical opinions they are not qualified or licensed to render, and negligence. They committed a privacy breach, releasing unauthorized personal information to a party that could have resulted in a detrimental outcome. When this was brought to their attention I was treated with obstinance, not with the concern befit my issue. At every turn I was confronted with obstacles, delays, and utter disregard for the predicament they placed me in causing extreme distress. I even requested and was denied a meeting with the Governor to discuss the glaring issues that exist within this agency and how it relates to workers in the State of Washington. This agency is ill equipped to handle the sensitive nature of worker’s healthcare needs. The fact that they are not regulated in the same manner as other businesses providing like services is concerning. Story after horror story has come to my attention as I talk with others about their experience dealing with this agency. Please help protect the rights, privacy, health and well being of Washington State worker's by signing this petition to privatize Washington State Department of Labor and Industries Worker's Compensation Insurance.

When we entrust police officers with power to protect and serve us we should be treated with respect and when that power is abused, those officers should be held accountable. Pick a problem! Pick any social, political, economic, or environmental problem. Pick them all! You will find that somewhere in that problem, to a greater or lesser extent, some entity’s failure to act responsibly is a factor in the existence of that problem. It stands to reason that if we move universally across the broad spectrum of our problems, to increase that level of responsibility for those entities, that we will also be moving to decrease the extent to which those problems exist.

I'm proud to be a Native Texan and we deserve a statesman for our governor. Not someone who is more interested in making and carrying out political threats.

The Los Angeles Ethics Commission recently proposed important changes to the city's matching funds system to increase the rate at which qualified donations are matched to 6 dollars for every dollar. This has the potential to give small donors a fighting chance in city elections. Unfortunately, the Commission has not recommended lowering the amount that can be matched per donor. Under the current proposal, up to $500 of a donation gets the 6-1 match, meaning somebody who gave $1,300 — clearly not a "small" donor — would get $3,000 in public funds — making their advantage over small donors even bigger! Please urge the three members of the Los Angeles City Council Rules Committee to fix the proposal: City Council President Herb Wesson, Councilmember Jose Huizar, and Councilmember Tom Labonge. He deserves such harassment for all the pain and suffering he has caused (me) our country from any forward movement because he is hell bent to keep Obama from having any accomplishments.

The one-by-one "investigations" miss the real problem!

If the photographs emerging from Ferguson, Missouri look like some foreign war zone to you, you're not alone. Plenty of former soldiers in Iraq & Afghanistan are saying the same thing. This was no accident. The armored vehicles, assault weapons and body armor that police are wearing in Ferguson—and other state/local police across the country—come from the United States military. Since 1996, the Department of Defense has transferred $4.3 billion in military equipment to local and state police through its 1033 program. Since 2001, the Department of Homeland Security has further militarized our police through federal funds for “terrorism prevention.” It is time for this to stop. Sign the petition to President Barack Obama, Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel and Homeland Security Secretary Johnson: stop sending military equipment to local and state police.
