• Overturn Citizens United
Unlimited spending from billionaires and multinational corporations is drowning out the voices of individual Americans time after time. They fund attack ads, distortions, and lies that are repeated endlessly through the media, with an aim to confuse and misdirect the electorate. Their purpose is simple - to ensure policies that increase profits, often at the expense of individuals, are propagated. This corrosive system is the antithesis of a government of, by, and for the people.

  • Rep. Horsford, it's time to overturn Citizens United
Unlimited, often secret spending from billionaires and multinational corporations has been a disaster. If we do not act, money will continue to inundate our elections and overwhelm the voices of voters. This corrosive system can result in a government for the highest bidder, rather than of, by, and for the people.

  • Rep. Moore, it's time to overturn Citizens United.
The U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in Citizens United v. FEC, permitting unlimited corporate spending on elections, is ruining our democracy. Money is not speech, and human beings -- not corporations -- are persons entitled to constitutional rights. We need government of, by, and for the people -- not government for the highest bidder.

  • Rep. Velazquez, please act now!
Unlimited, often secret spending from billionaires and multinational corporations has fundamentally changed the nature of elections and the focus and priorities of our government. If we do not act, money will continue to overwhelm the voices of individual Americans. If elections are determined by the highest bidder, rather than the individual voter, than we have failed as a democracy. If you still believe that our government is of the people, by the people, and for the people, then please sign my petition urging support for Congress to overturn Citizens United by introducing a Constitutional Amendment to clearly establish that money is not speech, and that human beings, not corporations, are persons entitled to constitutional rights.

  • Rep. Takano, it's time to overturn Citizens United
Unlimited, frequently secret political spending from billionaires and multinational corporations, and shadowy, well-heeled foundations fronting for rich special interest groups has created a disaster for our democracy. If we do not act, corrupt money will overwhelm our election process drowning out the voice of the people. This system of government by financial racket is corroding and destroying our democracy, leading to government by the highest feudal bidder, rather than government of, by, and for the people.

  • Lying purposefully on the floor of Congress should be a crime.
Calling climate change a "hoax" is an obvious lie told with the purpose to deceive the American people. This purposeful lie, told to protect the monetary interests of the very few, could cost the country trillions (lost lives, lost crops, lost real estate, loss of all forests, loss of water resources, etc.). Such outrageous claims should be proven or the speaker censored.

  • Steve Pearce: You owe us a refund
After denouncing wasteful government spending, Tea Party Congressman Steve Pearce (R-NM) spent $19,525 on a single plane ticket for a junket to the Middle East. Pearce is one of the richest members of Congress and represents some of the poorest constituents. He owes us a refund for his Egyptian junket.

  • TELL CONGRESS: $11/hr For American Workers Is The Least You Could Do
As the inequity of personal wealth grows ever wider, more of us are reliant on hourly wages. The current minimum of $7.25/hour, even if one is able to work a 40-hour week, doesn't cover the rent on even a modest apartment in most communities. The minimum wage of the past provided significantly more buying power than it does today. Since 1968, it has suffered a dramatic erosion as Congress failed to adequately correct for inflation over time. Raising the minimum wage to at least $11/hour won't solve everything, but it will bring it in line with inflation and ease a burden that weighs heavily on the shoulders of American families. It's a win-win for both workers and business. It's the least you could do. Really.
