• Remove Attorney Gerneral Eric Holder from his office
Eric Holder has been responsible for Fast and Furious, has harassed Zimmerman both before and after he was found not guilty, has been found in contempt of Congress, has been involved in recent scandals at the White House, and usually acts in a very shameful and unprofessional manner.

  • Child Support Laws
My Petition is for judges not to be able to send a person to jail for falling behind on child support due to losing a job or layoff. In addition, parent paying support should get credit if they can prove it came out of their check regardless of what child support is doing with the money. In my particular case, Chrysler closed the plant and I was left jobless. I then incurred 12, 800 dollars of back pay child support being that I was ordered to pay $1767.00 per month and unemployment was not enough for me to make a full payment. I am now facing incarceration because I do not have the ability to pay a substantial lump sum of money toward my arrears, but I am paying current with some going toward arrears monthly.

  • Changing Stand Your Ground Laws
People are being killed in cold blood, and getting away with it based on this biased law. Our priorities should always be about saving and maintaining lives!

  • Domestic Killings & Abuse by the Police, Judges ...ESPECIALLY the Family Court Judges & Attorney...
Violence is violence. The heir of the justice system (G.Z.) has committed other domestic crimes in the past. Zimmerman & other's like him have to be dealt with or the killing will continue...The courts cover up what they wanna cover up...they are the biggest criminals that allow other criminals to WALK!!!! I had brain surgery in October of 2011, and today I raise awareness on DOMESTIC VIOLENCE...This madness HAS GOT TO STOP. I believe the education has to start within the judicial system. Legislators you can make this change. Be Proactive!

  • Trayvon Martin Act
Trayvon Martin case, Stand Your Ground and Self-Defense laws. The case of The People v. George Zimmerman has demonstrated a hole in the Justice system and the Laws of the state of Florida (or any State where self-defense is an absolute) which allow an unwarranted escalation of violence by claiming self-defense. Florida law does not consider the inappropriate use of deadly force in self-defense cases and therefore implies that any response claimed as self-defense is not only warranted, but justified unless self-defense can be disproved.

  • Mayor Rahm Emanuel: Empty Chicago's TIFs - Release property taxes to local units of government.
In 2014, Chicago's 150 Tax Increment Financing districts extracted $426 million in property taxes. At the end of 2012 there was $1.4 billion left in TIF accounts. The Mayor has closed schools, cut back mass transit service, closed public health clinics and is poised to privatize Midway Airport. We can't be broke if we are stockpiling property taxes in order to give them to such major corporations as Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Target, United Airlines, Coca Cola, UPS, Wilis Insurance, Home Depot and The Chicago Mercantile Exchange. Empty the TIF bank accounts and send that money to the units of local government (Chicago Public Schools, Chicago park District, etc.) that SHOULD HAVE received those property tax dollars in the first place. NO PROPERTY TAX INCREASE UNTIL TIFs HAVE BEEN FROZEN AND AUDITED. RELEASE THE TIF FUNDS BEING HELD IN ALL TIF ACCOUNTS.

  • Moveon.org should start Voucher Vendetta
Would you rather vote for a candidate financed by 200 dollar contributions from individuals or a candidate financed by corporations? Voucher Vendetta would be a website where citizens could register that they will only vote for candidates that finance their campaigns with contributions from individuals in the amount of 200 dollars or less. It will keep track of the percentage of voters registered on the national level, for each state and each congressional district. This way everyone can see how many people are participating. It can be successful with only 20% of citizens participating nationally. With 20% national participation there would be some states below 20% and some above. In a state at 25-30% there would be some districts below and some above at 35 or even 40% of citizens registered. Not only will third parties and independent candidates be able to target these districts, but "hundred dollar" candidates will be able to mount primary challenges to the corporate financed current major party candidates. It will also destroy the gerrymandered districts that protect incumbents because a current major party candidate could mount a successful campaign by becoming a "hundred dollar" candidate in district that is considered safe for the other current major party. Laws that limit contributions will not succeed because they will be written by those benefiting from the current system. The only way to stop the large contributions is to make them worthless. It won't matter how much money the corporations contribute if this money will no longer buy enough votes to win an election.

  • End the obstruction of Presidential nominees
The Republicans are doing it again – throwing up obstructions, roadblocks, and unacceptable delays. They are using the silent filibuster to quietly stymie progressive efforts to protect workers, regulate Wall Street excesses, and rein in big polluters. We’re talking about the Secretary of Labor, the Administrator of the EPA, the Director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and all five members of the National Labor Relations Board. See a pattern? These are people whose job it will be to ensure that the big and the powerful are held accountable. It’s outrageous. And I’m blowing the whistle on this unacceptable tactic. Will you join me?

  • Rep Colleen Hanabusa: Renounce your New Democrat Coalition membership
MoveOn.org and various other progressive and environmental organizations endorsed Hanabusa in the 2010 House election based on her promise not to join the Blue Dogs (like her opponent). She betrayed (in spirit) that promise by joining the Blue Dog successor organization, New Democrat Coalition (NDC). NDC has been called "The Coalition Pharma and Wall Street Love" by Pro Publica who says its "close relationship with several hundred Washington lobbyists has made their organization one of the most successful political money machines since the Republican K Street Project"

  • New Voter Tools for Truer Representation
One of the ways we voters have been kept in a democracy of limited effectiveness, is by keeping us blind to the true amount of public support towards any given issue. The first thing we need to do is find a way to remove the blindfold and make our government representatives and agencies face a public that can see issues in which the public vision is widely shared and when the public’s shared vision is or is not being represented. Polls are not good enough. Accuracy of polls can be questioned for many reasons. We need more than polling. We need a public way of submitting registered issue votes to the government and its agencies. Something that is much better than individuals calling, writing, and even meeting with representatives and public officials.
