• To Amend the U.S. Constitution to Provide for Term Limits for the House and Senate
Both branches of the legisture are totally indebted to interest groups. By limiting the Senator to two terms of six years each and the House to 6 terms of 2 years each, it will limit the 'good old boy" system and help restore us to Citizen office holders and not career office holders.

  • Censure Dianne Feinstein
Edward Snowden's revelation of widespread NSA monitoring of US citizens has been denounced by Senator Dianne Feinstein as an "act of treason". The implication is that US intelligence activities targeting all citizens should effectively be above the law, with no recourse possible by citizens and their elected representatives - a 1984-like world in which a select few (including Sen. Feinstein) determine what is best for the rest of us. I find this statement abhorrent, and wish to let her know this. In addition, as a member of MoveOn I do not wish the resources I contribute to this organization to support her in any way.

  • Abolish the Electoral College
The Electoral College is a failed premise that needs to be abolished. Too much is weighed on swaying certain states and not enough on popular vote.

  • Right to hold Early Elections
People should be able to hold early elections to suspend an elected official term when he or she are not working for the people in their district. We are all affected by dysfunctional government we have in place and all of us should be able to end their term when they are not working and being destructive. We would be fired if we don't do our job so should they.

  • Transparent and accountable judicial system
The judicial system serves and protects its own interests and not the interests of citizens of the States. The courts establish self policing that does not work because it protects biased and prejudice judges even if they are not professionally qualified to sit on the bench. The judges do not want to be accountable to anyone even they are part of one of the branches of the government and constitution provides checks and balances for all branches. The life time tenure already afford judges great protection, but it does not give them a right to be above the law and conduct themselves like they can do whatever they want without any responsibility.

  • Repeal the XXVII amendment to the U.S. Constitution.
Congress has made an effort to streamline spending, but they've really overlooked the fact that as so many Americans are making sacrifices, they "do nothing" and get paid like normal. Yes, they are elected representative of the people, but having their salaries off the table makes they too forgetful of their constituency.

  • Citizen's United Amendment
The Supreme Court decision affects the very foundations of our democracy. Corporations ARE NOT people, their moral values are only based on profit, and their money influences the political environment way beyond what the average citizen is capable of doing.

  • Remove Peter Vigue from the National Freight Transportation Advisory Committee due to blatant con...
Mr. Vigue, president of Cianbro Corporation, is promoting a privately owned "East-West Corridor" across Maine, shielded from public oversight by its private nature and a recently passed law which was co-written by Cianbro lobbyists. Signers of this petition require he either immediately step down or be removed from his position on the U.S. Department of Transportation's National Freight Advisory Committee due to a blatant conflict of interest. While it seems from the list of those on the committee (http://www.dot.gov/briefing-room/us-transportation-secretary-lahood-announces-national-freight-advisory-committee) that conflicts of interest are commonplace, we do not wish Maine's interests to be represented so inappropriately.
