The lobbyist on K street in Washington have become so powerful that they are writing new laws or amendments to laws. Then these lobbyist laws are handed to our legislators to sponsor in the halls of Congress as their own legislation. We are losing control of our lawmakers who are openly selling out to the special interests.

I would like to see the counties in the State of Illinois receive electorial votes like states receive in the National Elections. It has become increasingly unfair where the biggest percentage of a state's population lies in large metropolitan areas. As it turns out, especially in Illinois, the wishes of the population in Northern Illinois overshadow the needs of the downstate population. A better sampling can be taken with the use of county electorial votes.

Congress is working for the organizations.corporation and lobbist who found there elections,as we the people that elects Congress we demand that Congress does what we the people want!

Proposed 28th Amendment to the United States Constitution: "Congress shall make no law that applies to the citizens of the United States that does not apply equally to any and all elected officials."

Our elected officials are so disconnected from the American people. As citizens, we need to hold our representatives (e.g.; Congress and Senators) accountable. One way of doing this is to have daily,weekly, and or monthly 'report cards' of how and what they are doing. For example, this report could be displayed daily on t.v., in the newspaper, and online. These officials in Washington, D.C. would each be reported/documented on: 1) How and what they voted for 2) How many days they showed up for work 3) What bills they created 4) How many filibusters they voted for 5)What perks they rec'd at taxpayers' expense..etc. These officials should not get a 2nd term, nor get paid retirement pensions if they don't do their job or don't show up for work, and if they are only focusing on advancing their political agenda! If we did this at our jobs, we'd be fired!

Congressional term limits will necessitate an expansion of the pool of those who can serve. This will enable more middle class participation in the congressional process, and truly embody the principle of "for the people, BY THE PEOPLE". Congressional term limits will expand the role of the majority in government causing congress to be responsive to the will of greatest number of Americans rather than the will of the wealthiest of Americans

Our regulatory system for nutrition standards and food safety is split between two agencies, neither of which is responsible for our general health. The USDA is primarily devoted towards representing crop producers and food manufacturers as its mission is the marketing of US agriculture while the FDA is focused on drugs and medicine. Both are heavily compromised by the industries they serve. We need a science based authority to provide nutritional guidance and reduce the diseases of diabetes, heart disease, cancer and Alzheimer's disease, illnesses that are primarily caused by poor nutrition, and to protect our food supply. We have a competent agency already that is able to protect us from disease; the CDC.

The new rules (from who?) concerning Auto and Truck Safety Inspections are no longer about safety. State residents are now obligated to bring their vehicles to like new condition whether it has anything to do with safety or not. I was failed because of the parking brake indicator light and a customer of mine had to pay $1000 to fix torn CV boots. Another customer had to pay $400 to replace a tail light lens that had a barely visible crack. We need our regulations to make sense and the new Safety Inspection rules do not.

Limiting the number of terms congress & senate can serve to two terms, the same as the presidency. We have the most unproductive congress in the history of this country and they have proven why these angry old men should not be in charge of anything. This group of old angry birds are not concerned about the betterment of the country but a power struggle with the president. Limit their terms so that we can always have people willing to work for this country.

President Obama has announced three nominees to fill critical vacancies on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit, widely regarded as the nation’s second most influential court. We can't let Republicans filibuster and get away with more obstruction! This isn’t just about GOP senators obstructing the D.C. Circuit. It’s about ALL the federal courts, including the Supreme Court. And it’s about confirming executive branch appointees like labor secretary, the head of the EPA, and the director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
