They have medicare not anything different than the general population. If we are sequestered and lose pay they lose the same percentage as everybody else. If insider trading is illegal for us it is the same for them. No special treatment for them and the rules are exactly the same for them as us. No special treatment for them from the IRS if we have our wages garnished or we go to jail for not paying on time they get the same treatment.

Los Angeles voters have a chance to make a statement against Citizens United and the dominance of Big Money in politics by voting Yes on Proposition C. Prop C reads: "Shall the voters adopt a resolution that there should be limits on political campaign spending and that corporations should not have the constitutional rights of human beings and instruct Los Angeles elected officials and area legislative representatives to promote that policy through amendments to the United States Constitution?" GREAT NEWS! PROP C PASSED WITH OVER 76% OF THE VOTE! The California Clean Money Campaign was proud to endorse Prop C, but the main drivers behind Prop C were California Common Cause, CALPIRG, and the Money In/Voters Out Coalition -- a big round of applause go to all three for giving Los Angeles voters a chance to overwhelmingly say that there should be limits on political campaign spending! It's still a long ways before a constitutional amendment can happen. disruption of democratic process

Since Congress gets paid regardless of what they do or don't do, and since the Republicans are intent on spending the salaries paid by tax dollars on such nonsense as attempting a 37th repeal of the Affordable Health Care Act rather than working together to move the country forward, they should instead be paid hourly, like most Americans, and not be paid if they do not show up and actually work. Boycotting votes by not showing up to work, would get any other American fired. Why are we, the people, allowing their behavior when we wouldn't allow it of other employees?

Congress should legislate, not perpetually investigate

This congress is already going down on history as the most ineffectual elected body ever elected. Tell them all it is time to accomplish something positive! If they can't truly represent us then ask them to leave...be sure they know you will NOT vote for any who are not doing their jobs!
