• Outlaw No-Bid Contacts
Government contracts are quite often given to friends, relatives or supporters of government officials without the process of finding the best price or product. I believe there is over $450 billion in federal contracts that were never up for bid.

  • Support HR 525 or S 359 - Industrial Hemp Farming Act of 2013
Supporting these measures will put farmland back into production, give farm and production workers much needed work, and make products made from industrial hemp more available and affordable to all. Many products from paper, fabric, and particle board to plastics, paint, and car parts , as well as many foods and cosmetics can be made here in the USA from industrial hemp. Currently we rely on importing either the raw materials like paper or fabric or finished products from many countries. We can put people to work while saving import duties and taxes.

  • Isn't it about time for TERM LIMITS?
This must occur at ALL levels of Government both local and federal. Two terms in any elected office. Exceptions could be real jobs like sheriff and fire chief if elected. Do we really need someone in office for 20 years enriching themselves and their associates? All you have to do is examine simple history in your immediate area. This is not an attack on any political party. This could put an end to the type of representation we are experiencing at all levels of Government.

  • Let Our Voices be Heard
Voting is a fundamental right, and should be as easy as possible. Unfortunately Massachusetts lags behind other states in access to the ballot box. This year, the Massachusetts legislature can take a few simple steps to ensure more people have access to our most fundamental democratic right. - Early voting allows people to vote when it is convenient for them to do so, ensuring that they don’t have to miss work or caring for their families. - Demos, a leading good government and voting rights organization has projected that Massachusetts could see an increase in turnout of 4.9%, with even larger increases anticipated among young voters and African Americans if we implemented EDR. Tell your legislators to remove barriers to exercising our most fundamental democratic right.

  • Term Limits for Public Office
We need to realize term limits if we hope to ever get anything done, the only loss of experience and expertise if there were no career politicians, much — if not most — of that is experience and expertise in the arts of evasion, effrontery, deceit and chicanery. None of that serves the interest of the people. City, state and federal government no longer is concerned with the needs of the people so much as the need to get reelected.

  • Stop Wall Street From Robbing Us Blind
The Glass-Steagall Act protected bank depositors from the additional risks associated with security transactions. The act was dismantled in 1999. Consequently, the distinction between commercial banks and brokerage firms has blurred; many banks own brokerage firms and provide investment services.

  • allow the sale of diesel cars in maine
Maine currently does not allow the sale of diesel cars for environmental reasons. This law was passed before the advent of low sulfur diesel and before the cars were getting great milage ( as much as 78mpg!) we need these vehicles. Right now emissions are calculated by the gallon and not by the miles traveled. If this were changed we would have access to these cost saving cars and it would help our environment

  • The Sequester
I live in New Bern, NC and I am outraged at Congress not coming up with deal to fix the sequester. This affects me because most of our economy comes from the brave men and women in uniform who defend this country, so that slack-jaw yokes like me can enjoy this great country. Congress needs to get locked in their seats until they can come up with a solution to fix this problem.

  • Gov, Brashear: The People must do Redistricting Not Politions
All people in the state have a right to vote. Right now politics has a strangle hold on the Kentuckians ability to elect the people they want to represent them. Kentuckians need a Redistricting Panel of CITIZENS to establish the redistricting lines. No pol is going to think of the citizens when this is done! We need what Californians have done & put this responsibility where it belongs in the peoples hands.
