Congress is not doing their job. Every year, they are supposed to pass a budget. Because of their incompetence thousands of federal employees are facing furloughs. Everyone in my agency, the Bureau of Indian Affairs received furlough letters. Many agencies across the government are facing furloughs. Congress needs to have some accountability.

I'm writing to aks Congress (yes Congress themselves and the Senate along with the President) to cone together and change the way they recieve compensation for their work as elected officials. Instead of having them recieve payment that is unaffected during tough economic times they should ammend the way they recieve payment based on whether the economy is doing well or not. If the economy is in the slumps, then their pay gets cut in half until the economy shows signs of improvement. And won't return to its full ammount until the economy and job situation has reached the level it was at before it was considered bad. A simple ammendment to help in these difficult times.

The single purpose of filibustering is to delay voting about issues before the Congress. By talking about irrelevant issues or parts of a bill that are not the main bill(ie,filibustering), important votes are delayed, sometimes indefinitely.Limiting each bill to one issue and discussing only the single issue up for vote will be more efficient and the public will see exactly how each member of Congress votes on the single issue without excuse.
