The People Vs. CongressIt has become obvious that congress has no accountability to the people of these United States of America. I suggest We The People call hearings where We The People as a solid Civic group get to ask questions of our governing representatives on matters that are of interest to The People, such as and not limited to: Why pass a law that restrains the government from getting the best price on drugs from big Pharma? Why are we subsidizing Big Oil? Why the drone program and how exactly does it work? Why do we need to spend a Trillion dollars annually on defense? Why is there so much Lobbying money allowed in politics? These, and many other questions that We The People have no answers to. Once elections are over, our representatives get ingrained in a system that locks in many would be good intentioned people into a slow process of change that is neither good for the country nor does it solve many of the bigger issues. I want more clarity as to who, why, where these decisions are made and by whom so I can better understand who our congress is serving.3 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Nery Ordonez

Repeal the Second AmendmentHaving worked in inner-city schools, lived in several big cities, I believe everyone in the United States is adversely affected by unfettered gun culture. I learned to shoot a rifle at 12 when I was admitted into the NRA. It shapes your values, and in some ways, even warps them, giving people a false sense of pride and security. The invocation of patriotism in defense of the Second Amendment is not only often hysterical, it is simply deluded, as legal firearms by themselves do not have the capability of posing a violent political challenge to the agents of the United States Federal Government. In fact, if "freedom" is used as the last argument to defend the Second Amendment, well then, those that would abuse "freedom" in this manner are also likely to ignore all law. I think it's important that people who have NOT been directly affected by gun violence speak up on this issue. That's why I'm speaking up. All firearms, except for registered antiques, should be manufactured, without exception, to have fingerprint technology which recognizes only one gun owner's handgrip at a time, and GPS technology which instantly provides law enforcement the geographic position and time when a firearm is ever again discharged. The Second Amendment is an obstacle to putting all the technologies of government surveillance on gun owners. It is just a law. Harmful laws should be repealed. What could be more logical?3 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Louis Anthes

U.S. Congress TERM LIMITSAll of us have been adversely effected by overly elected U.S. Cogress seat holders becoming self important, corrupted by their positions of power and their loss of site of what is best for the state. They become concerned about being re-elected and overly influenced by special interest groups and large campaign donors . Term limits would go far in ending this cycle and would help to bring in fresh energy, ideas, and talent to these positions.3 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Daniel Adamson

Don't rig presidential elections by changing the Electoral CollegeYou know you’re out there when Paul Ryan thinks your idea is wrong. But Tom Corbett and his Republican allies in the PA legislature appear to be moving ahead with their idea to change the way we hold presidential elections. Corbett’s idea is to allocate PA’s Electoral College votes by percentage instead of winner-take-all. Using this formula, the 2012 results would have given the GOP (Romney/Ryan) 8 votes to 12 from PA for the Democrat (Obama/Biden). At first glance this might sound like a more fair system, but it would only work if all states had the same system. But the only states considering the Corbett Scheme are states where President Obama won, and where Republicans control the state government--Virginia, Florida, Ohio, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania. If the Corbett’s Scheme had been in place last year in these states, we would have a President Romney who won only 47% of the vote. How unfair is this plan? Even Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) opposes it, even though he would be Vice President today if it had passed last year.13,555 of 15,000 SignaturesCreated by Michael Morrill

Legislation That MattersIndiana government spends too much time on issues that really don't matter to most working people. Instead of targeting Woman, Gays, Workers and Immigrants and crafting liberal gun laws, we need our leaders to focus on Education, Jobs, Healthcare and Roads. Indiana's biggest problem is the "brain drain". It effects my business when young people leave for more progressive states.1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Stephen Miller

Get rid of electoral votes, make the people's voices count. As it stands today, electoral votes are what puts the president in office. So every vote of the the people of the United States of America is just entertainment. The president should not need 270 people voting for him to make it to office. He should need millions of votes. Votes from people who eat, breath, and live through the decisions and actions the president makes and takes. 538 people should not be making decisions for 314 million. Please sign this petition, let's give the people of America the most powerful voices on election day.9 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Bethany J C
