Why are we afraid of governing? Why are we afraid to tax the rich equally and why are we afraid to our war funding? I am a Grand Rapids Dominican Sister from Michigan, am retired and see families struggling. I live on fixed income and am grateful for my help from social services. Why should some people be shut out from this help. There are so many why's that people are floating around. We have lost hope in our government. Taking recesses from your jobs, is not a noble thing to do. What are your reasons. When I was working, I did not take recesses, nor should you. Give the voters the choice to recall statewide officials.Sometimes, we elect statewide officials who have veered too far from their what they said in their campaign, who are incompetent, or have simply changed parties. We need to be able to recall elected offials at will after one year in office.1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Jay Adams-Feuer

Abolish the Electoral CollegeThe Electoral College takes away our rights as U.S. citizens to vote for our President. The President is not chosen directly by you, the voter, but instead, chosen indirectly by the Electoral College. The Electoral College is composed of "electors" who are chosen by each state based on their population to elect the President, and the truth is, NO ELECTOR IS FORCED TO VOTE ACCORDING TO THE STATE'S POPULAR VOTE!4 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Cameron Hepola

You're right Mr. President, we need election reform nowIn his State of the Union Address President Obama said "When any American -- no matter where they live or what their party -- are denied that right because they can't wait for five or six or seven hours just to cast their ballot, we are betraying our ideals." He's right. We need reforms. People like 102 year-old Desiline Victor shouldn't have to wait another year for change to come. Please sign this petition thanking President Obama and our Massachusetts State Legislative Leadership (who have also called for change) and urge them to make 2013 the year of election modernization.555 of 600 SignaturesCreated by Sara Brady
