FL Sunshine Law / Criminal Felony PenaltiesEast Orlando (Orange County) residents have been blindsided since 2010 by new expressway construction and demolition that has damaged homes, lowered property values, wasted $70 MILLION in taxpayer monies, and increased traffic gridlock. Prior to its 2010 inception, the local Expressway Authority gave NO warning or notice and held NO Public Meetings with area residents. This ongoing project will NOT end until 2014 or 2015 and represents a HUGE violation of the FL Sunshine Law -- but there are currently NO grounds for criminal prosecution.7 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Marilyn Hankins

Public Funding of ElectionsWho "owns" our elections and politicians? Those who pay for them. The power of the electorate today is controlled by special interest groups and the very rich. Only "we the people" should shown "own" elections. The public alone should fund elections. Then, the currency of elections used to decide who wins will be the ideas and policies of candidates, not dollars.2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Howard Bregman

North Carolina Gov. McCroryThe Legislature of the State of North Carolina is as broken as it's Government. There is no hope for any of us when the Legislature is actively working against the wishes of the people and passing detrimental legislation, sometimes in the middle of the night or by "mistake".1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by James Furth

No Frill Bills/Clear and Cleanly writtenWhen state or federal legislatures create and sponsor bills they must submit all written proposals in PLAIN Language,; Not attached unrelated issues or additional PORK! For example, Senator A. proposes that all Senators and Representatives must be physically present for all votes...let's just say. That may be an impossible request given how things are currently run in government. Senator B. can't add a highway program or daycare in this Bill. Elected Officials Term LimitsIt's time "we the people" take our country back. Take it back from the PACS, unions, high rollers and big business that help keep the same people in office over and over again so they can keep their greasy little fingers in the cookie jars of government!4 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Steve Drake

Jim Graham: ResignDC residents deserve better from our elected officials than the misconduct of Jim Graham. Investigation after investigation has concluded that his behavior with the lottery contract was unethical, and yet he refuses to take responsibility for his actions. How many more tax dollars must be wasted investigating his misdeeds? We agree with the Washington Post editorial calling on Graham to resign. Despite once again escaping sanctions, "What he can’t escape is that his actions have again been found indefensible." Graham's misdeeds distract from the work of improving our neighborhoods for all Ward 1 and DC residents. Resign, Mr. Graham.5 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Jill Raney

Pennsylvania - Join the National Popular Vote CompactThe way we elect the President is broken. Five of our 46 Presidents have won the Electoral College without winning the nation-wide vote aka divergent election (in 2016, 2000, 1888, 1876, and 1824). Not every vote is equal across the country. Here in PA, we have 20 Electors representing nearly 13 million residents; that's over 600,000 PA residents per Elector. In Wyoming, they have 3 Electors representing under 600,000 residents or less than 200,000 WY residents per Elector. That means it takes more than 3 PA residents to equal the voting power of 1 WY resident. Shouldn't every American vote be equal? Under National Popular Vote, every vote is equal and every vote counts no matter where you live or what political party you endorse. US voter turnout numbers are some of the lowest in the world. It's not a surprise since 48 states use a winner-take-all system. If you are a Republican living in California, why bother voting. Same is true for a Democrat living in Texas. Under NPV, every vote counts! This can only improve voter turnout. In 2020, all of the 212 general-election campaign events were in just 17 states, meaning that 33 states and the District of Columbia did not receive any events at all. Nebraska, Virginia, and Indiana hosted one event each. Pennsylvania received 47 general-election campaign events -- the most of any state and 22% of the total. The Presidency is the only office that is designed to represent all Americans. Yet, it routinely becomes the office of the swing states, not the country as a whole. NPVIC would force candidates to campaign nationally, addressing the needs of every American. Bottom-line, the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact would guarantee the Presidency to the candidate who receives the most votes nationwide. NPVIC would ensure that every vote, in every state, will matter in every Presidential election.651 of 800 SignaturesCreated by Michael Weisensee

Make Our Representatives HonestFor us to respect their work, our Representatives in Congress need to know that they should not be allowed to pass laws that are not applicable to them as much as they are to us. This is basic common sense.3 of 100 SignaturesCreated by William Burdette

Impose Term Limits On CongressI am starting this petition, because I am sick of the life-time politicians we have in Congress. Congress continues to act as if the people don't matter, and only do things when it benefits them. The amount of rotation in Congress is at an all-time low, due to peoples disenchantment of our system. I believe if there were shorter terms and no life-time politicians for Lobbyist to corrupt, Congress might do more for the people that voted them into Office.8 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Joseph Fortenberry
