Following the crash of 1929, Wall Street faced reforms that addressed the excesses of stockbrokers and banks. When those regulations expired or were weakened leading us to the latest economic meltdown with financial institutions looking after their own profits at the expense of their clients and the American public in general, our government has yet to respond by taking strong measures to regulate those interests and this must be changed. Start by passing Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act H.R. 4173 (111th) but then go further. Now!

SNEAKY LITTLE TAX-HR4646 JANUARY 1, 2013, THE US GOVERNMENT WILL BE REQUIRING EVERYONE TO HAVE DIRECT DEPOSIT FOR SOCIAL SECURITY CHECKS....WONDER WHY? BANKS GOT BIG USING OUR DEPOSIT & TARP MONEY. THEIR SERVICE CHARGE FEE HAS GONE UP RIDICULOUSLY AND THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS CUSTOMER SERVICE. THEY TREAT US LIKE 3RD CLASS CITIZEN AND NOW THEY WANT TO CHARGE US FOR USING OUR OWN MONEY. This is a 1% tax on all transactions at any financial institution - banks, credit unions, savings and loans, etc. Any deposit you make, or even a transfer within your own bank from one account to another, will have a 1% tax charged. If your paycheck or your Social Security or whatever is direct deposit, it will get a 1% tax charged for the transaction. Keep your eyes and ears open, you will be amazed at what you learn about number of ways you are taxed. if you receive a refund from the IRS next year and you have it direct deposited or you walk in to deposit that check, you guessed it. You will pay a 1% charge of that money just for putting it in your bank. Remember, any money, cash, check or whatever, no matter where it came from, you will pay a 1% fee if you put it in the bank. Some will say, oh well, it's just 1%. Are you kidding me? It's a 1% tax increase across the board. Remember, once the tax is there, they can also raise it at will. And if anyone protests, they will just say, "Oh,that's not really a tax, it's a user fee"! Think this is no big deal? Go back and look at the transactions you made from last year's banking statements. Then add the total of all those transactions and deduct 1%. Still think it's no big deal?

Getting the congress to do their job!

Serving in our Congress is an honor, a privilege in itself in earning the trust of the American people to fairly and completely represent them in the theater of our democracy.

I believe that Congressmen need to live by the same rules that the rest of the citizenry live by and without special pensions. It certainly would give them more impetus to fix things like social security and insurance if they had to live by these broken systems like we do!

We have fallen under the control of a Republican/Democrat monopoly that along with the corporate media has excluded participation by alternative parties, effectively controlling the electoral process.

We have a law dealing with truth in advertising. Yet, for the highest office of the country a person is allowed to lie, take speeches out of context and to actually re-write tex. You would not hire someone that lies on their resume, why would you hire someone that lies to you in the Media.

Constitutionally force congress and the president to submit balanced budgets. Exception in time of Crisis as defined by congress.

Because ALL political parties have DEFAULTED on transparency, WE, THE (undersigned) PEOPLE, especially WE THE (undersigned) PEOPLE with a sense of humor, who are at least real and valid to themselves, DEMAND that there be started at once, and/or retroactively, a write in primary to DRAFT a WRITE IN CANDIDATE, CANDIDATES for POTUS and VICE POTUS

To serve the public, you must know their issues and feel the weight of thier burden. For what elected officials are paid, federal and state; in the past 20 years their pay has gone far beyond the adverage person. And senators & congressmen continue to recieve full pay for life after leaving office. Elected officials should not get paid more than those they represent.

This petition is asking the Secretary of State, Ross Miller, to investigate the funding of negative voting ads aired on television and radio. The citizens and voters in Nevada should know from where the money to finance these ads originates. It is not impossible that foreign interests are funding the ads that contain information that is not true or is misleading.
