Abolish the electoral college and let the president be elected by popular vote.

WE should have the American people VOTE to abolish the electoraal college which is obsolete.

Bill Montgomery AZ state attorney is causing problems for the state's VOTING IN the medical marijuana program. I am petitioning to recall his pettiness and allow the state to let their vote be followed thru as the people legally voted in !!

Currently each state can decide how to construct its ballot for the presidency and vp elections. Since these elections are for national office we should have a uniform ballot for president and vice president. This will do much to stop the chicanery and corruption within states over what the ballot looks like, how it can be audited and who can vote.

The ballot initiative process is an important way Californians can improve their communities by making or changing state laws when the legislature is unable to do what is needed. But today, millions of California voters have no say in what gets on the ballot. Senate Bill 1233 would make initiative petitions available in multiple languages so that voters who speak a different language can have a voice. Our voter guides are already available in multiple languages; it is only fair that initiative petitions should be too. It would cost the state less than one penny per person to include these voters in the democratic process. In a state as diverse as California, providing initiative petitions in English-only means that voters who don’t read English well are left out of the democratic process, and that voters can be given misleading information about a petition and they have no way to verify the petition language. They could be tricked into signing something they don’t understand. This hurts all of us. Our ballot initiative system should work for all of us, not just some.

Once elected to congress, all members are given health care FOR LIFE! not just the term they serve, for LIFE. this includes their family and We get to pay for it. Forever! New day, new time. It is not guaranteed to citizens and it should not be for them.The members need to buy health care like the rest of us! Their costs are increasing as they age and and they are living longer, just like the rest of us. End the health care plan for them!

Cancel all healthcare coverage for U.S. Senators and U.S. Representatives. They should know what it is like to try to obtain and pay for coverage for themselves before they can hope to understand what everyone else is dealing with. And at the very least, their coverage should cease to exist the moment they are no longer in congress. Taxpayers should not have to pay for their healthcare when they can't pay for their own.

For the U.S. economy and Global econommies to work, we need a U.S. Congress that works. The current U.S. Congress is holding America, and as a result, the global economies hostage for selfish political reasons --- They (the Tea Party House Republicans) have turned from Obstructionism to Destructionism. Witness the downgrade of U. S. debt as a result of their failure to raise the debt ceiling on time. The debt ceiling was raised 8x during the "W" Bush administration, without any bitter debate or fanfare. Many of our current members of Congress have pledged their allegiance to Grover Norquist instead of to the United States of America. This is a violation of their oath of office at best, and in my opinion TREASON. We are paying these representatives? with taxes payed by THE PEOPLE --- NOT by Grover Norquist and they need to represent THE PEOPLE or they should be FIRED! ie. IMPEACHED. Every Conggressman who signed "the pledge " to Grover Norquist should be required to renounce that "pledge " and sign a new pledge that they will work for the American PEOPLE or they should be required to step down or be tried for treason. It is disgusting that we have elected officials who are working for Grover Norquist instead of working for THE PEOPLE of the United States. Mitch McConnell stated his only goal is to do whatever it takes to make our President a one-term President. That statement by itself should be considered treason in my opinion. We need to get rid of the right wing radicals who are working against the best interests of the United States for selfish political gain. They have gone too far and the purposeful destruction of America by our own elected representatives in the House of Congress has got to stop.

I believe the necessity of presidential candidates ( and all elected officials ) to immediately begin raising funds and courting the moneyed interests for support for reelection inhibits, if not paralyzes, their ability to perform the duties for which they were elected.

Congress is required by law and statute to tell the truth, and many times it appears that they do not tell the truth, and nothing adverse ever happens to them when they tell obvious lies.

The President can focus on the job, not on spend two-three years out of the current four running for a second term. Four years is no longer enough time to get done what needs to get done in government. It will make it more difficult for the opposing party to block every policy for seven years and force them to work together. This is the best place to start government reform.

Time to end the gravy train of elected officials in Washington. "Career politicians" only care about their careers; are totally out of touch with their constituents. It's time they join mainstream America in our day to day worries about employment, social security and health care. Change the law so we will finally have politicians who are "in it" to serve, not be served!!!
